Should Scott Go?
Probably closer to the truth than some would like to admit...![]()
Now I know that we think differently but you don't believe that, do you?

What an unbelievable load of old crap!!!!!!!!
as for the dwindling support, AS's critics should ask themselves whether their own whinging, carping and constant niggling has not had the effect of a self-fulfilling prophecy, affecting the way other supporters see how the team is playing and deterring many of them from turning up.

First set of four games - one point; second set of four games - five points; third set of four games - six points; fourth set of four games - nine points; fifth set of four games... well, so far six points out of six.
I think that could be fairly described as gradual and consistent acceleration, don't you?
No he isn't. He's a manager with a L2 winner's trophy under his belt who has turned his season around after a terrible start in the league while engineering two excellent cup runs. The overall pattern of the league season to date has been one of gradual and constant acceleration with every prospect of a continued rise up the table.

I am amazed by your continuing ability to condescend and patronise.
On a par with the ability of many fans to patronise and condescend to Andy Scott.
No point closing it. You see, if you consider this,
y = mx + b x [2sq]
y obviously representing the number of Andy Scott based threads currently open on the GPG, we find that each time a thread is closed (mx) two more are started (b). My conclusion therefore, is that it is far better to keep this thread open in order to avoid fringe threads [2sq], which would possibly cover such diverse matters as the cut of his slacks, breakfast habits etc., until eventually the life and times of Andy Scott would be the only topic we discussed on the GPG. Which wouldn't do. NorthamptonBee's got a book to sell .
Indeed. Welcome to Groundhog Day and thank you for your contributionYou can tell winter has set in. With the short cold days Bees fans have got nothing else to do except drivel on and on and on............................................
not really firing from the hip and insulting but honest.just how can people really be staying away at a time that the club genuinely looks it is going in the right direction.Just has 2 successful seasons, got extra funds, got a load of players in who need time to gel, wheres the patience and if the last 2 results AND performances are anything to go by,we are in for another good Season,HOPEFULLY.Theres still over half of the season to go,so my view is all this negativity on here aswell as the walking away is all a bit premature,if we were rock bottom and miles behind id understand. If people cant afford to go thats fair enough,i too have to think more of my funds when it come to going Bees now,and ive had to cut out other things this season as my hopes are higher this season, faith has not yet been lost and ive done alot of games so sacrafices have been made else where.i do feel prices at football(acroos the board)at our level are too high, simple as that and those who think halving our entrance fee will increase our gates are well wrong, proof is there when BFC do deals, freebies etc and it doesnt do a thing to our attendance. And your right, attendances nationwide are well documented as going down.
BNB i admire your optimism and i wish more shared it, but the sad fact is that there are many who don't. in answer to your question "how can people really be staying away" it's simple i'm afraid, they watch a boring non event game and say **** this for a game of soldiers and don't come back. a friend of mine often brings his two boys, who are showing signs of being good players themselves, and was disgusted with the performance v mk and said he wouldn't be bringing his kids to gp for the foreseeable, which pi55es me right off. i recently won a family ticket in a charity auction, i'll give it to him to hopefully encourage him to give our beloved bees another chance.
I have tried to stay away from making personal comments regarding posters but have to say that finally I have broken as your constant nit picking has driven me to distraction and this last bit of drivel beggars beleif.......although I suppose it is the same as the Scott detractors claiming that it it has been there comments that have resulted in the team changes we now see.![]()
Without Scott I think we would be emulating Luton and possibly Halifax (my local side).

If Newport Pagnell Bee joins in this debate can someone let me know please.
I used to have the same problem with blunstone. Some of his comments used to drive me mad, particularly when he refused to acknowledge any post that reasonably questioned / challenged his view. Then I discovered the "Ignore Button". I didn't want to use it & he is the only one on my list. My God it's helped. I no longer get stressed or angry. I have re-discovered a calm and inner peace that many search for throughout their lives and never achieve. Highly recommended![]()
blunstone is a he? no offence intended whatsoever but i always thought blunstone was a lady bee.
as for hypa, if pipe had had him on ignore, he'd have missed the brilliant "southampton" post and would never have realised what a deep understanding and knowledge hypa has of football !
without Ron Noades we could have be in the Championship by now??![]()
as much as i hate noades,as he is the cause of our monstrous debt.when he took over the club,we had an awful squad of players with many of their contracts finishing,we were on the verge of strong contenders for relegation again !

The bosman wasn't in at that time, this was the season after we lost to crewe in the play-offs. we had a bloody good team. Gills were the only club not to get relegated after not winning a play-off final from what I seen to recall.
why did we go down then.

simple, Mickey (mouse) Adams was a crap manager, he brought in some right sh*twhy did we go down then.

Harsh. He took over a squad of what David Webb used to describe as 'sparesies' - that's 'Conference', to you and me, at a club that was being strung up by it's bollox (if a club can have bolloxwe got what we deserved - relegated,
), installed a bit of spirit and came close to keeping us up which, would have been an absolute miracle considering what he inherited. I liked him .

Adams reign was desperate and I felt sorry for him.I wasn't criticising Micky Adams who, like Eddie May had to try and make bricks without straws.
I just thought tht the season was a total disaster with a post-Wembley hangover, the Webbtakeover, the team decimated and no investment in players until the die was well and truly cast.
Yes, a win at Bristol Rovers in the last day would have saved us - and we lost tpo 10 men but we were really poor all year
That truly was the worst side ever assembled with Mike Everitts a close second
That was a poor side but take out Bob Taylor and there wasn't a footballer who wasn't past it or showed potential to play at a higher level. (Pollitt was on loan)Surely the Leroy/Fitz lash up was worse?

It was like asking me to convince my mates who are all vets to bail me out by digging out their boots for one last go at senior level to fufil fixtures as the current squad hasn't got 11 footballers on the books. Supplement the old has beens with a few never was mates and top up on a friday night in your local with blokes who overhear you asking the landlord if any of the punters have ever played and are available tomorrow.
It was like the script of one of those awful feelgood "When saturday comes" type football films, start with a 52 year old alcoholic cynic (Warren)and throw in a girl in disguise plus a special needs kid who turns out to be the new Wayne Rooney except that in Leon Townleys case it was just asking too much for him to read the game!

Aspinall, Oatway, Hogg....they knew how to give out a kicking though!
It did have Taylor, Hutchings and Ijah who were all decent players at the time. I agree was pretty desperate although I would still say what we ended up with under SF was worse.
Anyway, should Scott go?
Aspinall was great. As was Oatway. And, I'm the only person in the world that rated Watson .Surely Aspinall must be in the " decent player " bracket ?? I liked him.

Gets a terrible regular slating on here. Glad to find someone else agrees he was decentNo, Watson was decent too.
I loved watching him play for us, he came across as a great lad who had the craic and could look after himself but he was way past his best!Surely Aspinall must be in the " decent player " bracket ?? I liked him.
Charlie worked his socks off, got stuck in and was a "character". For a lad who struggled to read or write he was bright, with an infectious personality who never stopped battling but IMHO was no better than reasonable at best?Aspinall was great. As was Oatway. Maybe. But having a player that was 'reasonable' at that time was like signing Pele lol.Charlie worked his socks off, got stuck in and was a "character". Lost some key players and replaced them with lesser ones.
