Doing Middlesbrough-Reading today, it appears the FL are still treating him as a Select Group referee as they have given him a Football League referee as 4th official

If Stuart Attwell is our ref on Saturday, can I urge all Bees fans not to start abusing him until after the game.
Refs are human
If you annoy them, they will turn against you - 50/50 decisions will not be given in our favour.
This is a fact.

I fear this plea will be ignored, he will be soundly booed and we will have a man sent off and a last minute penalty against us.

Stuart Atwell has made mistakes because he is a bad referee not because he has an agenda against any team and favours the opposition in situations were he has been abused. I think it unfair to suggest that. If any ref is booed or given abuse I fully expect him to not let it affect his judgement in such an extreme that he deliberately looks to give penalties or send players off. However I also fully expect Atwell to make a mistake because he is rubbish but it is as likely to happen to us as it is the opposition booing or not.

Maybe it is Marcus Bean that will get sent off . Dont think he has had any cards this season so due a couple !

To be fair to the bloke, since his infamous early days he has shown massive improvement and I agree with Spider, I thought he reffed that game well. Let's face it, we've got Robinson saying he thought it was a harsh sending off. With their record, anything is 'harsh' in his opinion

I think he is one of the better refs now. Rather calls into question the benefit of promoting young refs with little life experience. His early promotion has sullied his reputation. I wouldn't be surprised if he went on to ref a World Cup Final.

IMO had a blue shirt on frequently. Ignored their time wasting since they scored and missed various fouls on our players whilst literally giving free kicks to them. I know I'm biased but refs shouldn't bee homers either. He seemed overwhelmed by the noisy intimidation coming from their fans.

Did ok. It’s our fault for not converting the chances than for him to not penalise Millwall for slowing the game down.

The only criticisms are that he was not forceful on the time-wasting, which seemed to occur from midway through the first half, and that he twice gave fouls against Sawyers when Romaine pulled out.

he was very good, although sometimes easily suckered by falling over. he's definitely come a long way - the Attwell of years past would have loved to have sent Mepham off, and the game would've been ruined from there...

Weak referee. Some of the free kicks he gave against us were ridiculous. Did he actually play 4 extra minutes? Didn’t seem like it and he should have added more for when those inbred fans kept the ball.

Not sure he was a homer, and that was not an initiating crowd. The Leeds fans got a lot more decisions out of the ref than Atwell today.

Only real criticism is that he gave their players too many warnings to hurry up, especially the keeper. One warning and if they do it again it's a booking, that's all it takes.

i have seen worse performances but I certainly didn't think he was great.

Not sure I have ever seen a goal from a corner disallowed as offside before.

This explains a lot.

Hopefully we'll be cheering his Soloman like judgement next season.
