All hyperthetical but I doubt the FA liked what Scott said after the game about the refs performance etc and that may well have had some affect on their judgement (not that it should). :fishing:

If that challenge can be deemed serious foul play, then football is becoming ever closer to non contact netball type rules.

Stuart Attwell

As I said earlier, I knew the FA would back Attwell, to553rs the lot of them.

:mad1: :mad1: :mad1: :mad1:

Stuart Attwell

Unbelievable. Can't believe even their manager and players clearly thought it wasn't a red yet the FA do?

tw*twell must be breathing a sigh of relief - suppose it counts as a great decision now :(

Stuart Attwell

No real surpise is it .......The FA were always going back their golden boy by not showing that he's incompedent.

Having to deal with these people from grassroots level I'm not one bit surpised.

Stuart Attwell

And Morgan's "challenge" on Hume was only a yellow card.

Stuart Attwell

Can we appeal? I'm so fecked off, how can that be deemed a red card?

We should seek out the names of those on the panel, find their email address and email them our thoughts. Then we should offer their address to all of our email contacts and encourage them to all to send an email at the same time, co-ordinated to feck up their system.

Edwards is a fecking CHEAT and should be reported to the PFA for crimes against fellow professionals.

Email i got from the FL

Thank you for your email.
We will ensure that Professional Game Match Officials - the body responsible for the management and administration of match officials – are made aware of your views.

We receive numerous queries and complaints regarding individual referee's decisions and their overall performance. Although we are unable to respond on each individual incident, we can advise that the performances of all officials are constantly monitored by way of club and assessor reports, the match video or DVD and, at some grounds, the Prozone statistics. The match is also analysed by the Referees' Manager, referee's coach and the referee and, despite the perception of some, match officials are most accountable for their performance.

Referees make their decision based on years of training and experience and what they see at that moment in time, from a position different from anyone else in the ground - he can only act on what he sees, assisted by the other match officials and not everyone will agree with the decisions he takes.

Contrary to expectations, the Referees' Manager will not attempt to support a referee out of sheer loyalty (Really). It is his responsibility through PGMO to identify training needs of not only individual referees but also of all National Group match officials.

The Manager also works with his group in a bid to constantly improve standards in a game which has become faster and more frenetic over recent years. Every match is recorded and referees are under closer scrutiny than ever before.

Thank you for contacting The Football League with your view.

Yours sincerely
Mark Bradley

It worked for Beeby, he's been nothing but fantastic for us, since you "dealt" with him :eek::rolleyes:

"Dear Matt

Thanks again for your email.

The responsibility for upholding the decision lies with The Football Association, who are responsible for implementing discipline at all levels of football. The Football League has no say in the matter, which is why I was unable to address the question contained within your previous email.

Regards

Mark"

My follow up email got this.

Stuart Attwell

"Matt" "Mark" - he getting a bit too chummy for my liking :)

Well said Greg. Your next directive is to suggest they rid themselves of Attwells services.

How can the ordinary football fan have any respect for any FA officals in their nice warm cosy offices with their paid for VIP trips around the world at supporters expense.

What wrong with the football league saying the FA they are wrong whether it our case or others. The FA don't give flying flick for the League anyway.

Well done to Greg he at least said something.

Why cannot a referee admit he was wrong even if he's not going to over turn the decision he has made?

Fair play to Greg...:sorted:

Stuart Attwell

I hope Mr Allen has told his players not to jump with their arms up........

Maybe but I bet Andy has them in tomorrow practising their pogo stick jumping techniques...

Stuart Attwell

Fair play to Greg...:sorted:

Hopefully his comments will be picked up on so the decision can be bought to light in the media a bit more. Knowing the FA they will probably charge him with bringing the game into disrepute....blah...blah...blah....

BFC should refuse to play any fixture with this clown officiating in the future. I hope he is barred from the ground too.
BFC ...." sorry , he can't Ref, as he's banned from Griffin Park."
After all, as a businesss, Brentford Football Club can surely refuse admission to whoever they choose, without explanation?

A good approach, one minor problem though, who would officiate at Old Trafford?:D

The FA were always going to stand by Attwell. If they didn't then it makes thier fast tracking look a joke, which it is, but they won't want to admit to it.

Stuart Attwell

As often in life, not enough people give a damn until it happens to them.
Attwell is poor enough for every league club to take a stance and all refuse to play until he his taken off the league list and sent back to gain experience in the non league circuit - every fan ought to back this decision.
But.... only those clubs who have been on the receiving end, Derby (the worst performance of the lot where he proved he is not up to taking charge of a game in front of a crowd), Watford, etc might entertain the thought, the rest, fans included, would take a "done nothing to us" line.
But they should be warned... he's coming to a ground near them soon, and he is the first of an invasion of fast tracked, never played a game themselves, refereeing since 14 years old, breed of officials.
Even in junior football you can spot the difference between a ref who has been a player and one who hasn't.

Stuart Attwell

Having said the above, Elder is I believe on course for the highest number of fouls conceeded by any Brentford player since Footbal League began recording it - 62 so far - given he does not seem a "dirty" player, there is clearly a problem with all referees interpretation of what he does. He seems to have free kicks awarded aginst him even when he is being pulled around - he seems to be a marked man.
Perhaps he is the equivalent of a cricket bowler with dodgy action - and the FA should treat hm as such and send a referee assessor down to the training ground to work with him and eradicate the "problem" in his jumping.

Stuart Attwell

. He seems to have free kicks awarded aginst him even when he is being pulled around - he seems to be a marked man.

I agree and this is perhaps one of the more disturbing aspects of this sorry affair. Would Shatwell have sent anybody else off in the same circumstances?

I have read that the refs discuss between themselves certain players and their traits and I wonder if, as you say, Elder is a marked man.

I have thought for a while that he is unfairly treated by referees and that he seems to be a victim of his sheer size and physique than anything else.

It is a concern for his career.

Stuart Attwell

Disgusting.

****s.

We have every right to do that but would get chucked out the league...

Stuart Attwell

The truth is that the FA have set this man to be the future of refereeing in England, backed him and put his name forward for bigger things.

After the phantom goal and the Derby - Forest incident , what fools they would look if they overturned one of his decisions.

Would be interesting to see the foul the Shrewsbury man was sent off for, as his was over turned.
