lol lol lol lol lol lolpompeybee said:More elegantly put than I could have done. I'm a bit late to this one as the first thing I did when I got home on Saturday was not to post on here but to send an e-mail to the club as follows:
"It was good to see that there was at least some attempt to deal with the large "National Front" flag which some Oldham fans brought to the game today. The slogans on it made it clearly something different from the usual St George's flags.
However, why did it take until half time? Why were they allowed to have it back and get it out again?
Is dealing with this stuff the responsibility of the stewards or the police? (I saw that both were involved.) Don't they have powers to confiscate things like this and/or to eject those responsible for them? Is this really any different to racist chanting, which I thought was an offence?
I suppose it's hardly a surprise that some Oldham fans are involved with far right groups, given that Oldham is known to be a centre of NF activity. So you would have thought the police/stewards would have been prepared and could have dealt with it promptly. I don't suppose it's the first time it's been displayed.
Any chance of BFC expressing their concern to Oldham, just to show that 'Kick Racism out of Football' isn't just about wearing a t-shirt at a game once a season. If Brentford can't do it, given the ethnic mix in the club's catchment area and the number of black players on the team, who will?"

Ok, so you got a flag taken down which said "born in England, live in England, Die in England."
However, what you failed to do. Is rid the ground of those Brentford fans chanting "your just a town full of p*ki's"
Is that just stating facts? Or is there something more to it than that?![]()
You my friend, are an absolute tool without any facts or information on just what OAFC have done for the kick racism out of football campaign. I'll let you into just a few of the select things Latics have done in recent seasons.
It was only a few years ago our club was rid with Racists Chants far too often. Thanks to the help of latics fans and CCTV footage, those people were pin pointed and banned.
The club works tirelessly with the Asian Community, The Care in the community people at the club are always out at Asian schools in Oldham. Teaching them football skills and letting them meet with players. The club has been known in the past to give Asian kids tickets to the football, ignoring the white children just so they could try and attract a few asian kids on a regular basis.
The club has gone out of the way to try and tap into the Asian market in Oldham. They know full well what good it would do to the club if they tapped into it. They have done this though, far too often overlooking white kids and in return. The only way my club is racists is the fact on a few occasions it's bent over to far to help one community rather than all (which it's finally putting right, by distributing 30,000 free tickets to schools for 6 league games in the next two months)
Give me a flag over the chanting anyday. Or would you rather just blame another clubs fans rather than looking at your problem.
Everyone seems to have on this thread swept the racist chanting from a minority of Brentford fans under the carpet, and pin pointed Oldham as the racists for turning up with a flag.
There was no racists chanting from any Oldham fans on Saturday. Which makes the bigger point, a flag which can be taken as one of two ways (Patriotic or Racist) or a Chant that can be taken only one way (Racist)
It's up to you!

You get off on a bad note there. So the crux of your argument will be to insult me. Hmm.
Theres nothing wrong with the flag and its a sad day when people get so annoyed about someone being patriotic.
What convincing rhetoric, strong arguments all around. Many people disagree with you and have put forward some valid points. Yours is....?
The fact we cant even put a st georges flag up in hounslow high street because its deemed as racist is a joke. People being patriotic keep the country alive and look where ours is heading.............
Put your Daily Mail away mate, how embarassing. I agree it is ridiculous if the flag is not allowed in Hounslow High Street, but who are these mystical patriots saving our country? What a complete load of toss. You're right this country is in trouble, but what are you on about?
What if the guy whos flag it was had a relative killed on 7/7??? Still racist?? Think not.
That is your most embarassing Daily Mail like point of all. What difference does it make to the way a human being's actions are interpreted if they lost somebody in the tube bombings or not?
It would explain their anger. It would explain much of their reaction to their loss. It would not make their actions inherently acceptable however. If I am robbed by a black man tomorrow am I thereafter allowed to carry an irrational hatred of all black people? Is that anger legitimate because of one isolated incident? Er... nope.
The owner in question, is by the way, according to Oldham fans, a spotty little chav who is frequently heard singing songs about killing p#kis at their away games.

You question is irrelevant as it was not answering the question I've posed.beesbeesbarmyarmy said:care to argue why it's relevant to chant it at a football match?

Paulo Bee said:still not out then.......
The simple point is what would be wrong with me having a flag stating this?
Nothing. Where on the flag does it say that he hates anyone? It is pure and simple a statement about how he feels. And my point about this being a sad country is just. Especially when people like yourself start dreaming that this flag is any different....
It doesnt say I hate pakis on it does it?? It simply says that he was born in England, lives in England and wants to die in England. Three simple facts that have got everyone spitting their dummies out.
PS I dont read the Daily Mail![]()

alexinho said:It is not relevant to a football match.
Unless you are part of a right wing group that uses football as an excuse to get together and sing racist songs under the pretext of supporting their football club.
You know as well as I do that that song has been a BNP anthem for years now. Singing it is a way of advertising your sympathies for Mr Griffin et al.
alexinho said:You are, however, lamentably obtuse.
The subtleties of linguistic nuance are obviously completely lost on you, so it is not worth arguing about this flag.
You conveniently ignored the fact that I picked your entire post to shreds and simply posted more complete dung in its place. Your rhetorical skills are those of a pre GCSE child. How old are you?
Embarassing is the only word for it.
Brentford St George said:So in other words you are defending a cowardly organisation which blows up innocent CHILDREN (remember Warrington) :mad1: .
Sleep well tonight you small minded muppet.
alexinho said:Oh FFS of course I'm not defending the IRA! How on earth have you managed to get that out of what I've posted??
2 + 2 = 473...
Being against the terrorist policies of the IRA and singing songs about them do not necessarily go hand in hand.
Singing this song in particular, which has been taken over by the BNP, who are worthy of similar distaste in my eyes, is an affirmation of approval for them.
I'll sleep just fine thanks you ignorant pillock.
Brentford St George said:I'll ask you the question once more
Do you support the IRA? .Yes or no?

Your point being?
