The Marcus Bean thread

Not in the starting 11...

The Marcus Bean thread

Came on for last 15 minutes. Well done Marcus!

The Marcus Bean thread

2-1 to Honduras, good for Marcus who got the last 15 mins but not so good for us as if this is a regular thing he is going to be jetting off half way round the world and missing important games and coming back jet lagged

The Marcus Bean thread

Long old trip is that. Shall we take a guess he may not start Sat? due to the journey?

The Marcus Bean thread

If he's flying back today, I'd hope that's enough time to recover, especially as it's a home game, but it wouldn't surprise me if he started on the becnh

The Marcus Bean thread

if you think bean is a good footballer, you'd probably also appreciate these lads too.
great value for £ like bean too. only £6...

Can't help feeling the Lend Bond Sonic Jets ad has killed this thread, indeed the TEAM forum. Sorry.
Sure the gig will be ace, see you in the mosh pit (?) But back to topic...

Any news on Bean?

Uwe said last night that Marcus arrived back Thursday morning and went to the training ground where he had a massage following the long flight. After the massage and assessment by the medical team he was sent home to rest and get de-jet-lagged and he'll be at training today and available for selection Saturday. Ditto Niall McGinn re the selection bit and the important thing is that both players came through without injury or niggles..

I hope the Jamaican fa paid for Business class seats for Beano

one bad pass nothing more and some very good passes to

The Marcus Bean thread

does what he is good at..harrying hassling and forcing errors..played well

No way, one awful pass in 90 minutes, not his biggest fan but was superb today, never stopped hassling and rarely wasted a pass. Credit where it's due, too many happy to jump on the bandwagon and slag him off.

:imwith:

Pleased to see him have a very good game. He brought some badly needed midfield tackling to the team and had to do the work of 2 in the first half due to the poor decision to play young rookie Oyelaki in such a tempestuous match.

Alexander should have taken advantage of the chance created by his first half ball-winning and it was his pass that set up our first goal.

Credit where it's due - but then some people will never accept that.

Can't argue with that, Bean and Alexander stepped up to the plate today when the rest were pretty much floundering.

:imwith: excellent pass out wide left started the move for our opener. The only player to get stuck in during the first 45. Well done Marcus. X

The Marcus Bean thread

Superb performance from Bean today, even in the first half. We need players like him and Wood in the squad who always give 100% and can raise the team on off-days.

The Marcus Bean thread

Good performance from Beanie
Was booked halfway through the first half and was worried he would get another but he didnt :)

The Marcus Bean thread

That is why he should play.. In the 1st half the whole team were a shambles but Bean was the only one who didn't hide and kept going...so what if the odd pass goes astray..he was the driving force today..who would you want in the mess we were in McGinn? At least Bean cares and looks like he wants to be here

The Marcus Bean thread

For me he was the reason we found a way back into the game, I was looking to Douglas to lift us and give some fight, but Bean took it all on his shoulders and put in a MOM performance. Hope he does it again and again!

The Marcus Bean thread

Players like Beano and Wood are xIat you need in any squad

I would agree, if I knew what xIat was. :moo:

Bean's birthday tomorrow, and he is due a goal

Lump On :dog:

After a shaky first 10 minutes I thought he had a great game, plenty of grit and a couple of great passes in behind the defence.

He comes in for a lot of stick from the New Road, some justified, some not, but anyone who doesn't think he was good yesterday was watching a different game!!

Please don't generalise. Some of us New Roaders appreciate the benefits he provides to the team. And, BTW, the atmosphere in the Axbey stand was buzzing during the second half yesterday. Some good banter with Robinson and Gorman as well.

What happens with the Beany Man? Out of contract in the summer, not the most gifted but with the heart of a lion, he pretty much won the midfield battle at Tranny on his jack jones. I've always liked Marcus but can see why people don't, you need a battler at times, we'd have to replace him but would we get better for what we need?

The Marcus Bean thread

I hope he stays, not the best player technically but is effective in the middle and his performances have merited a new contract in my opinion

The Marcus Bean thread

I bloody love Marcus Bean. I have completely forgiven him for being a Pooperhoop to the core.

I'm sure he'll get a contract offer. Uwe clearly has a list of players who he knows will stand up and face the enemy.

and he's a local lad. I'd keep him, definitely a great squad player. I SAID TO ME MUM, THE OTHER DAY ...........

.............my man of the first half.............why was he substituted?????????.............

The Marcus Bean thread

Great performance from Beanie

I guessed he was subbed as we were searching for a goal and not trying to hang on to one and Dave was playing well and trying to make things happen and wouldnt havr subbed Douglas, who was also having a good match.

Would like to see Beanie popping up with a few goals.
He had it in him when we first signed him think he scored 9 one season. Was a threat from corners, free kicks, winning flick ons or headers.

.............along with Alexander, first names on the teamsheet recently............

The Marcus Bean thread

Always been a big fan of Bean. He's perfect for the likes of Carlisle, Preston etc. where you need a bit of bottle.

He's not for me. Agree he has been better recently but too little too late after a couple of years of rubbish performances. Knows he is in the last chance saloon for a contract but should have put it in before now.

The Marcus Bean thread

Thought he did very well yesterday. Bean at his best, he gets in very dangerous positions but he is the last person you want in these positions sadly. :)
