Bladders, was not judging him on just yesterday, I have a lot of time for Marcus and his industry and commitment cannot be faulted however posters have been on here insisting that we offer a contract

There are games when his style is necessary but I would hope that we can find a similar player who is technically better, the comment re breaking down our attacks made me laugh but unfortunately has some truth in it

In his defence he is the midfielder who gets in the box most times it's unfortunately his lack of composure and ability then let him down

A good servant to the club but one whose shortcomings would indicate that he is not one for the future

The Marcus Bean thread

Sorry Marcus, can never fault the effort, but the application, well thats another matter!

The Marcus Bean thread

poor yesterday. if he's dirt cheap on wages i'd keep him for those horrid northern tuesday nights but we need better on a regular basis.

The Marcus Bean thread

Skill or not - if only we'd another 10 with the same urgency and will-to-win as him yesterday.

We would still not have won!! Effort is one thing skill and composure another!!

The Marcus Bean thread

ive changed my mind again. we need to let him go and bring in better, hes a useful squad player but we cant play free flowing football with him in the team

The Marcus Bean thread

Love the interview snippets on the OS with Beano. Says we lacked quality. Think he gets the words "we" and "i" mixed up.

Sorry Marcus, you looked like a fish out of water every time you got the ball yesterday.

The Marcus Bean thread

shoud play in the middle in place of Dave.

Think dave has flattered to deceive, has the ability but drifts out of games far to much however a far better footballer than Marcus

He's also been carrying an injury for some time I believe which can't have helped.

The Marcus Bean thread

Sorry Beano. Times up. Complete pants. Looked like he had too left feet yesterday, should have been replaced way earlier

Did not realise that, if he is carrying an injury then we should cut him some slack. That having been said I am still awaiting the time he can consistently utilise his obvious skills to influence games, far to many times he seems to drift out of matches. He should in my opinion be driving the midfield forward and weigh in with 7/8 goals per season ( mind you even our c f can't do that!!)

The Marcus Bean thread

Ok those who keep advocating giving him a new contract please support your arguments because today he showed all the reasons not to

I think we'll miss him if we do not find an adequate replacement.
I fear we will sign a bright young hope rejected from a Premiership or Championship club and that player will fall short.
Rosler won't be offering him a new contract and yet he seems to be first choice at the moment and for 80% of games this season.
I have already outlined the three point justification for keeping Marcus Bean.

Ankle problem I think, injections before every game ?

The Marcus Bean thread

Playing wide right is not doing him any favours yethe does it without complaint.. Good attitude ,Rosler knows this and seems to trust him to do a job yet will not offer him a contract.. Seems odd

The Marcus Bean thread

Maybe because Uwe has someone better lined up to sign in the summer?

The answer lies in your first point as I am presuming that we can find a technically better player to fulfill his role, Forshaw might be but if not would suggest there are a number of 100% effort players around a lot who are more technically gifted.

If we had an alternative then probably Marcus would not be playing in so many games

Sorry Smiffy there is nothing in your post which justifies offering a contract and would suggest that we have had a number of players over the years who, fitting your criteria would still be on our books, Murray Jones even!!!i

I am using my fresight / hindsight machine and just know that the new Marcus Bean will be a let down (70% certain)
We are a League One team pushing for the Championship and Marcus Bean is a League One Player

Since we released Eddie Hutchinson, rightly thinking we could sign a better quality player we have seen a number of midfielders come and go without really excelling over a season
Mousinho, Pinualt, Skulason, Leary, Wayne Brown, Craig Stone, Gary Smith and Robert Milson came and went between 2006-9

We'll release Bean and rightly expect a better quality player but I worry we won't get one.

The Marcus Bean thread

He was a passenger yesterday IMO. Id love to see Reeves in the squad cause im certain he'd add a lot more high up the pitch than Marcus does.

The Marcus Bean thread

shame he's on his way out then? :( Rotherham will snap him up I bet..

Not having a go at you Smiffy but surely Beano has contributed far far more than the others listed . A Champion season and three top half finishes in division above. I read this section but rarely contribute cos can't abide the constant criticism of our own players,it's just me.

Whatever side your on with regard to Beano he has always given 100% to this club, so I hope everyone will give him a good reception if he gets a chance on the field of play.

The Marcus Bean thread

Very sad to see him go and fitting that the last thing I saw him do on the pitch in a Brentford shirt was a perfectly executed tackle on a Wednesday forward in our penalty area.

The Marcus Bean thread

If he is to go then he leaves with his head held high and with our grateful thanks and appreciation and best wishes for the future.

Sums up Beano for me.

Emotional to think that could be my last game at GP in a Brentford shirt was in a dark place before i came here last 4yrs happiest of life!

:(

The Marcus Bean thread

Hope the club see some sense and don't treat this guy with contempt

He's not being treated with contempt. His contract is up and the Club have, or at least appear to have decided against renewing it. He's been a very good servant and equally has been treated well by the club and fans alike during his time here. Players move on, it's a fact of life, however disappointing it may be on occasion.

The Marcus Bean thread

Fantastic player for the club over the last 4 years. Has given his all and will always receive a warm welcome from the fans. Wish him the best of luck, however we must bring in better than Marcus if we aspire to reach the championship.

The Marcus Bean thread

Never been a fan and pleased he has gone!

Too much of a sideways passer or negetive player

He will be a league player but expect lower league 1 or 2nd division maybe crawley or wycombe

The Marcus Bean thread

Thank God.

You need to read what is put instead of reading what you want to read. I never criticise players tho that seems fair game for many. I think tho if the club just allow him to disappear after four years good service is treating him or anyone with contempt.

Has been a good servant, scored some vital goals like Barnet at home in league 2 but his time has come to an end and he deserves to be playing week in week out in the middle.Beano will have many suitors after his signature though and I hope to see him back at GP again sometime soon.

Could see him going to a lower league one side like Orient or a wycombe, Oxford, Gillingham type club

Problem is - it's very difficult to read a lot of what you post. This is one of your more readable ones.

I've read exactly what you put and if you think that not renewing someone's contract because you think you can bring in someone better is treating them with contempt then that's up to you but it's ridiculous as far as I'm concerned.

The bit that got lost was "I never criticise players tho some think that's fair game" predictive text

Doesn't alter the fact that 90% of what you post on here is spurious, rumour-mongering, paranoid crap.

My player of the season when we won the Championship in league Two, the problem with Beano is that he's too good for league Two but not good enough for a top 6 club in leagur one. He will always be welcome at Griffin Park! Still haven't forgiven Fozzy for dropping him in the JPT Final.

You treat some BFC employees with far more contempt than Owlsmoor Bee. Some principles eh?

Bean has always given his best and has been a good player for this club, i wish him all the best at his next club. If were not offering him new terms because Uwe knows he can get better then im looking forward to the future.
