If we go on a 5 match unbeaten run, he might well be. I'd still rather see us appoint a manager before then though.

Well Harry Redknapp has done pretty well since going back to Portsmouth...

Fabio Capello won La Liga in 1997 at Real Madrid and then went back and won it again in 2007.

Graham Taylor had 2 very successful times at Watford, winning promotions on both occasions.

Udo Lattek (one of the most successful managers ever) won the German league 3 times in each of his 2 spells at Bayern Munich. :computer:

Going back much further, one of the Bees former managers Malky McDonald had success at Kilmarnock in the 50s. He then went back to Kilmarnock after managing us and got them to the semi finals of the UEFA (Fairs) Cup. :computer:

So basically the answer is Yes.

If we win at MK and then win a couple over Xmas, then he is the right man for the job as far as I'm concerned.

Dyke is a BU appointed representative on the BFC board
I think BU have a hefty say, in who the next manager will be.

I'm of the opinion that the less news coming out, the better.
I hope the negociations are going well behind closed doors !

Think of it as a Christmas present

You never know what you are going to get from Santa (Greg Dyke)
He's a mysterious chap, who is rarely seen....

If you have been good, then you'll get Allen, Daish or Paul Fairclough.
If you haven't been good, we'll end up with Andy Scott, Mike Newell or Frank Burrows

Remember, Santa (GD) and his team of elves (BU) know exactly what you've been up to......if you give back that glove, it might be a good point in your favour :sorted:

Probably, just like many of you, I subscribe to the Official Site. As there is no indication whatsoever of any news of whether we are advertising, interviewing, or anything else regarding a new manager, are we able to have a refund for lack of information? Oh of course not - we have no money left after paying off TB@

I would like to think that, maybe this time around they are just being a little more professional. The previous efforts were a total farce, so maybe they have identified who they want and are just speaking to whoever he or they maybe.:D

Maybe the board are being clever and not shooting themselves in the foot by going public on managerial targets, criteria, timescales and the like.
Hopefully they've been very un-Brentford and got someone in and are negotiating in private.

I can hope.

Jesus had a pretty good go at it.Not sure if hes interested in management.He was a goal keeper in his youth.His inablity to deal with crosses found him out though

Have just tried to put a message on the club answerphone to ask them to at the very least let us supporters know if they can put something on the official site as to trying to get a new manager. Would you believe, there is now no facility for leaving messages! Where the hell is the communication from our club?

Based on his record so far for factual inaccuracy...that probably means "expect an appointment today" !!!!

Last week, Dyke was reported in the local press to have said that he hopes an appointment could be made before christmas!

Madness. So we could quite easily find ourselves with 4 games gone in quick succession and very few more points on the board, but hey Greg, no rush.

Wouldn't it be nice to know what activity has occured so far? Who's reviewing the "hundreds of applications", who is charged with leading the process (is it the new CEO? - he's out of the country isn't he), has anyone been seen, have they got a shortlist regardless of who applied.

I'm sick of all this non-commuinciation sh*t and I can think of no other club in our position that would not have made a single statement to the fans a week after a manager leaves.

Sorry but the board need to a take a long hard look at how they engage their customers because quite frankly, it is appalling and our supposed media-savvy chairman seems to consistently forget the basics of his learning when it comes to Brentford FC.

also, given our quite desperate plight, shouldn't the new manager be in
place and assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the squad now
in order to know how best and most wisely to use whatever resources are available or new players in the january transfer window?
