C'mon guys give us a break for the festive season.

The Team Manager left by "mutual consent" and his assistant was placed in temporary charge of team affairs. Nothing revolutionary there. The CEO resigned and wanted to leave immediately and we have David Heath stepping up and offering to put on hold his new venture and work for BFC as Acting CEO through the end of the season without remuneration. I also have committed to spending as much time as it takes at Griffin Park supporting David. David is in south of France and returns January 3. There is a BFC board meeting January 4. David won't thank me for saying this but I will anyway in that he and I are in daily touch and he offered to break his holiday and return back immediately if the situation justified it. I said it didn't and for him to finish his break and come back refreshed. In the meantime the BFC staff have lost their CEO at virtually zero notice with his replacement out of the country and they have to prepare for two homes games in quick succession at a particularly busy time of the year. Their email systems have been down for several days and certainly in my case I was phoned this morning to say that an important email had not surfaced following the system being fixed and could I resend it which suggests that perhaps others may have got lost whilst the system was down.

I suppose that I could draft something for the official site and circulate to the board for approval but it would just tell you what you already know and what my pet cat could have figured out. I thought that I had more important stuff to do frankly and it's a question of priorities.

I can understand your optimism, but it's still early days yet for AS. Fair dues to him though he's started very well.

i'm not convinced andy scott is the man for the job but if he must be considered at least hesitate until we see how the team performs in the forthcoming home games

remember that after we won convincingly at chester, tb was being hailed as the man to take us forward and that we were all set to make a serious promotion challenge

all that euphoria evaporated with three straight home defeats topped
off by being outclased by dagenham and redbridge

Are we forgetting something on this thread? All the comments seem to mention only this person or that person for the job. How about how they are paid? Shouldn't they be paid a lower salary with performance related bonuses, with the emphasis on the latter? Therefore, if the new Manager were found to be like the last three, then to relinquish them of their services would be far less costly.This is how it is done in Industry, so why not in football?

David, this thread is mindless speculation about a possible new manager; if we add in the dimension of contract terms and conditions, we'll go mad!

There are standard contract formats that the FA, the FL, the PFA and the LMA suggest as the base but I'm sure specific terms and bonuses are added to these to reflect a club's circumstances and a board's motivation ideas.

I think for us someone like cotterill would be an excellent choice of manager. Very good coach for the younger players proven ability and lower league knowledge personally I dont think we could be far wrong with someone like cotterill and would be delighted if he was appointed our new manager

I still cannot decide who to vote for in the new manager poll. If Terry Butcher were in the poll and we did not know what we do now how many of us would have been tempted to vote for him?
Martin Allen?, could we afford to, but could we afford not to,if he were available? I don t know.
When I look at the rest of the list I see "anyone but Andy Scott",and that is where I am tempted to vote. Scott is suffering by his connection to Mackie and Thorpe?( and I suppose rightly so.)
But I am still going to wait because it seems we have improved under Scott s management,if that is just the new manager effect remains to be seen.I will be able to see for myself on Boxing day,as it is at home that we have been poorest. I will then be able to read posts by GPGers who have seen all three
games under Scott and see what their views are.
But even another good performance,and hopefully a win will probably not be enough for me to vote one way or the other.In the back of my mind I can hear the words "Brentford always take the cheapest option" .
I think I will remain a don t know.

I suspect that there are a lot of people who are of the same opinion.

I don't really want AS as the new manager as don't feel he is the right type now plus has the disadvanatage of being linked to the dross served up so far this year.

If there is an outstanding candidate who meets all criteria and is available to start I'd get him in as soon as possible so that he has time to decide who he wants to sign.

Having said that if AS were to continue getting favourable results, which I doubt, I hope that we would be big enough to concede that he should be given the job permanently if no one else more suitable is found.

It's good to hear other people's opinion whether you agree or not but you are simply the most boring and most stupid poster I have ever known. I will get told off by the mods but you seem to post against rational sense at every given chance and appear to be a complete wimp, I actually pity you.

I also don't think you actually go to games as that would mean you have to enter the real world every now and then.

Well said NB, I for one agree with your comments. Iwas all for Daish like yourgood self , but now I'm thinking hard about Cotterill.
Onething I am certain of is AS is NOT the man for the job , even if 1 or 2 are pissing themselves over our last 2 results.

...Steve 'Quitterill' is not a popular man in Stoke as he quit on us for Sunderland & Mr Wilkinson.
That said though the short time he was at Stoke he did bring the youngsters on and has done an okay job at Burnley (signed half of the Stoke squad in the porcess!) but seems to have lost his way.

Regardless of whoever gets the manager's job best wishes to you all and I shall keep popping along to the midweek games (I have seen the Bees four times so far this season and Stioke only once!),
