Worst Bees Game

Worst Bees Game

Wigan away on a wet bank holiday monday. All that way to see us lose (not sure of the score think it was 1-0). The only thing I remember about the game was that Mark (?) Fleming turned in the most inept display of his time at Brentford (and by his low standard that took some doing  ).

Worst Bees Game

West Brom in the fog. Lost 2-0, couldn't see a thing and the car broke down on the way home.

Worst Bees Game

Away to Blackpool in pouring rain about 1990, we went a goal down in 14 seconds and eventually lost 4-0. Jamie Bates was sent off. I got soaking wet and found I had a parking ticket when I got back to the car.

Not to mention the feeble surrender in the Bristol City relegation farce and the Crewe and Stoke playoff finals.

Worst Bees Game

The cup defeat at home to some non-league nobodies which ended Ron Noades let´s pretend I´m a manager phase. Never seen the fans turn on the team like that before or since.

Worst Bees Game

Worst Game

Has this been done before.

01st February 1992 v West Brom @ The Hawthorns. :computer:

Woke up full of cold, mate cried off so drove up on my own. Got lost on the way, just scraped into the ground 5 minutes late. Fog descended - couldn't see feck all, Bees didn't turn up and we lost 2-0. Drove home in thick fog, not going above 20 mph for long stretches. Needed a piss so turned off the motorway and got lost. Found motorway again, continued the tortuous drive, made it to the M25 and then car packed up and had to be towed home to Southgate. Didn't have a drink all day.

Happy days. :(

Worst Bees Game

Millwall on ****ing ITV live :(

Worst Bees Game

Losing 2 nil away at Qpr a few years ago hurt alot.

Worst Bees Game

Apart from the recent Kingstonian fiasco. My worst moment was a 2 1 defeat to Guildford in the FA Cup. The First game at Griffin Park was abandoned due to snow the next also at Griffin Park we drew I think 2 all. In the replay at Guildford we lost 2 1 due to a blatantly offside goal by someone called I believe Les Brown. This player gave Peter Gelson the run around in all three games.

Seem to remember the upside was we signed Jackie Graham from them after this game, or is my old mind getting confused?

Worst Bees Game

FA Cup 1983(?)
Gillingham 5 Bees 3
Bees 3-1 up with 10 minutes to play!
Longest journey home ever!

Yes this was one of my choices, I did not go but listened to LBC and it was 3-1 with 11 minutes to go, being a long suffering fan I thought the worst we coild do was get a replay, I turned on final score and couldnt believe even Brentford would concede 4 goals in 10 Mins- unbelievable!

Worst Bees Game

Can't believe no one has mentioned Telford in the Cup.

Horrible train trip, horrible little place, Dangerous getting assaulted (weirdly, Wolves fans there only for a fight as I remember), their fans trying to start something in the ground against the 'big boys'....

And the most gutless, soulless, don't-deserve-to-wear-the-shirt display anyone will ever see. They killed us. Truly, truly, truly embarressing from the first whistle.

And yes I know I already voted a page back or so.
:sneakoff:

Worst Bees Game

Millwall on ****ing ITV live :(

I remember recording it, going to the game, getting back, and watching it all over again.

Worst Bees Game

Bristol City away on Bank Holiday Monday, about 4 or so years ago. We lost 4 - 1.

I just remember getting very drunk after on cider, and chatting rubbish to other random GpGers, who I had never met before..

Worst Bees Game

I think you've got a few more games like that to add on here. :D

Worst Bees Game

the dreaded last day of season game against reading, never been so gutted still hurts now! Worst ever day for me as footie fan!

i remember wayne fereday and bob taylor scored on his debt for them in this match - which means i must have been to young to be p*st as i have no idea of the dates or who has scored for the opposition in any other games in the last fifteen years. actually, craig bellamy extra time hatrick at newcastle - 12/9/01 (only remember these details as the day before is famous and so is bellamy). we were winning for ages i think.

:fishing:

Worst Bees Game

Winning at Derby but going out on away goals in that great cup run... **** knows how we fell to pieces after that I will never know

shiiiiiiiiiiit, anglo italian cup yeah, that was a real pisser, so close to wembley, Bliss pulled it back to 5-5 on aggregate with two late goals at the baseball ground and nearly got his hatrick too.

i remember noone was quite sure if away goals counted at 90 minutes or if it was extra time. they did and it didn't. gutted. :sorted:

we had about 1500 there on a wednesday night. silly hat misbehaving after the match. SCUM SCUM SCUM, football doesnt need it! :nono: :nono:

Worst Bees Game

Macclesfield last year. Not even ONE attempt on goal, wide or on target. Utter sh*te!

Bernie was in top form that night as well.

Worst Bees Game

Telford in the FA Cup; Oldham (A) under Leroy; Chesterfield (A) first game of Martin Allen's first full season in charge just because it was a massive let down...there's probably a few more that I'll remember when my brain starts working properly.

Worst Bees Game

In our 1999 Championship winning season the two games at Mansfield and Rochdale were truely shocking.

Worst Bees Game

reading last day of the season, that game still hurts when i see what has happened to them and when i see what has happened to us:(.
Another game which was a major let down that i dont think many others will put up is the wycombe away game a few years ago when we lost 4-0 we were so s**t and mark peters got sent off a few min after coming on as a sub. that was a horrible day.

Rochdale especially, i remember being inconsolable in the pub afterwards.

For me though, you would go a long way to beat the Doncaster 0-4 game t'other year.

Worst Bees Game

Bristol City 4 Brentford 1. The winner for me by a distance.

Strangely enough, the 0-0 draw at Elm Park in the 92/93 season is one of those games that makes me fume every time I think of it, even though it may have been the catalyst for the late run of form that brought us top spot. A large Brentford following that night and never can so many fans have been so angry about not losing away from home.

Worst Bees Game

Crewe at Wembley (Dele Adebola  )
Stoke at The Millenium
Bristol City when we went down from the old Div 1

can't remeber there being snow, might have been though:confused: There was snow at the Tues night 0-0 one when No coat got thrown out in the first couple of mins. :sorted:

No...

before then

We lost 3-1

Defending early on was comical...you are right about Herman & Powell being awful. We got a breakaway goal before h-t..........

came out and got worse. Leo was

Where are the doubters now?

Worst Bees Game

West Brom away for me. Did I ever tell you about it .....

Worst Bees Game

Kingstonian was probably the worst but there have been a few awful ones recently Peterboro, Oldham, Rotherham, Doncaster, Macclesfield.....

Worst Bees Game

I may be embellishing this but I seem to recall we lost 3-2 at both Tranmere and Barnsley in consecutive away games having been 2-0 up. One of my good friends got the right hump and stormed back to the coach. This was of course nothing to do with below zero temperatures and the fact that said coach was actually parked inside the ground behind the away terrace.

I was at both of those and it p!ssed it down at both as well.

We could have been 4-0 up at Tranmere Marcus Gayle had a goal dissallowed and I think it was Bliss who missed a penalty.

Worst Bees Game

Not the worst.. but the most disappointing for me was the Crewe play-off defeat. So distressed I shouted at some 10 year-old glory hunter as I walked home with my heavily pregnant wife.
Remember how cold it was at Oldham in the cup on the plastic!! And the fog at the Hawthorns.

Worst Bees Game

I think my most dissappointed was the p/o game at Tranmere, and to cap it all whern all we wanted to do was get back home some iodiots wanted to stop on the way back for about an hour, I was not best pleased.

Worst Bees Game

QPR away, late sixties. We lost, I had a cold, got soaked with rain cycling home to Cranford, got a puncture and had to push bike the last three miles home.

And still had English homework to do

Worst Bees Game

Bradford away early 90's we won the game, but I was in agony all the way home and when I reached home was immediately ruched into hospital with Kidney Stones.

Worst Bees Game

Well said bliss too much lap dancing by some ????????????

Worst Bees Game

Two games spring to mind, 3-1 defeat at Notts County think it was 89/90 season. Remember we made a dreadful start that season. John Moncur scored a fantastic consolation goal but no one really cared.

The other game, more a disappointment than a bad game was a 3-2 home defeat by Wimbledon in 80/81. Remember we still had an outside chance of promotion going into the game, we were coasting at 2-0 but somehow ended up losing 3-2

Worst Bees Game

Hate to admit it, but I was at the WORST EVER Bees game at Fellows Park Walsall in January 1957.
It was the biggest load of rubbish I have seen in 56 years of supporting the Bees. We lost 7-0 to a really crap Walsall team,it was the most pathetic gutless display,

Brentford had even beaten Walsall 6-2 at Griffin Park less than 4 months before, and in fact finished well above them in the league that season.

At least last seasons 7-0 by Peterborough was by a team that got promoted.
