So you say after one bad start to a season you sack the manager and start again?

Andy has done enough to prove that he is a good manager, and a little bit of loyalty from the fans is surely in order.

read my last post to yours, towards the end of last season it got bad. pre-season was bad and now the last 9 league games have been bad. the club owes the loyalty to it's fans aswell, everyone has had enough. you don't need to be blind to know that:wave:

It is important to see how big the gap is between us and safety.

It is not about safety Lokster its about Progress and we cant go forward with AS so sad as some may find it he has to go. I would be surprised if AS who is a reasonably intelligent man does not realise that its time.

In fact he would be protecting his reputation if he resigned saying it had gone stale and he believed that by leaving he was doing a club close to his heart an opportunity that may soon disappear.

Andy Scott

It blows my mind the complete hypocrisy among fans. We all complain, "there's no loyalty left in football" when a footballer/manager leaves for a better club, but the minute results go slightly haywire, everyone's calling for them to leave.

Andy Scott completely turned us around, got us promoted in his first full year as a manager, with a budget quite far off the top. He overachieved budget-wise the next year, finishing 9th. This year, when word gets around that we have a slightly higher budget, everyone's expecting we'll reach the playoffs (only because of the success we've recently had, which is due to Scott) and so after a poor start, everyone suddenly thinks Scott should go.

I can only hope that the board ignore what these 'fans' are wanting. We have stumbled across an immense manager that in the one season that we haven't started brightly in the league, we have outplayed much higher opposition, getting a lot of money from the cup and replaced two of our best players (dickson and schezney).

We are not gonna get relegated. We don't have a 'playoff' budget, so yes this year we might not get in the playoffs, but it would be completely absurd to change the manager after so much recent success.

AS also talks rubbish, he tells us Nicky Forster can only play 20minutes and he plays the whole game today? so how are we to believe the stuff he says?

Thats very true, whether it was said for the benefit of Brighton I dont know however there are some strange comments from the Manager which dont help his cause.

Will be interesting to hear his post match comments, if he blames the players for not carrying out instructions then I will finally join the "thats enough Andy and thanks" brigade however if for once he accepts collective responsibility then I can beleive he is finally begining to learn.

Have no idea of injuries but it has to be said that some of his selections have been bizarre in the extreme and I am begining to wonder whether we have reached the panic stage of management where all the names are thrown in the air and the 11 falling face up are selected. In the cup the likes of Saunders tried hard to get really involved and since then seems to have vanished??!!

I would love to know what Bullivant brings to the team selection and style as he was a reasonable decent midfielder, has loads of experience and surely must see that the present system is flawed.

It's just too early to change at the moment as it could cause more harm then good. At least give him until the end of October to turn things around and see where we are. Everyone has higher expectations this season hence the extra pressure on AS but it's all about the long game and not a quick knee jerk reaction to a dip in form.

The football hasn't been great and the goals for has been shocking but we did beat Hull, Sheff Wed and an Everton first team on pens. A poor team wouldn't achieve that especially given the quality of the performances in the games.

Clearly Simpson has been a big loss and would of added a massive goal threat in the last few league games but I do think changing to 4-3-3 would improve results in the short term with Weston and Adams attacking into the box from out wide supporting a striker. An extra man in midfield would encourage more balls to feet and let us dominate the midfield against lesser teams. AS seems to favour 4-4-2 even when we don't have the players of a quality\fitness to play that formation. Although without Hunt and Diagouraga a 4-3-3 formation wouldn't have worked tonight!

Charlie and Diagouraga were a massive loss tonight, I rate them both very highly.

Andy Scott

the last 18 games of last season got us 5 wins, 9 games this season 1 win

27 games = 6 wins.. .answer = nothing has moved on

Andy Scott

Bad Karma moving those dug-out's.

look at the facts with them in the team.

Poor excuses. Scott said he has 2 players for every position, all teams have injuries. The plain fact is his tactics are long ball and 2 NEGATIVE midfielders, he's incapable of playing any other way.

Is that you Andy:wave:I did reply to this inaccurate post but it was pulled by the mods.

Andy Scott

there are now mumblings in board room, he's got until christmas from what i was hearing.

the fans will simply give up on the club if that happens, the fans rule not the club directors:nono:

Bournemouth have scored 22 goals...... we have scored 4. Probably not relevant but I am staring at the table trying to work out what the hell is going on!

Some sort of misguided loyalty to Scott for what he has achieved so far has been making me not jump on the 'he must go' bandwagon, however the more you look at it the worse it gets!

We have a budget to rival all but 3 or so teams in the league, we have signed good quality players who can play good football and we have demonstrated in several games that when we get the ball down and play football it is effective. We have strength in depth that we have not seen for years and a squad that should be able to handle a busy schedule.

However...... we continue to play one dimensional football and players seem to keep their place based on preference rather than performance. We do not use the squad as much as we could and start tired players whilst other good players sit on the bench for 88 minutes. I am worried that players are having to follow instructions rather than play to their abilities and all this is resulting in us being bottom of the league with 4 goals after 9 games.

I am still not signing off the P45 but Saturday is an important day for Scott, I think the performance and approach may be just as important as the result.

If the board do have doubts then we need to set a deadline, no longer than mid November, and take decisive action one way or another in order to ensure it's not too late.

Andy has a big job on his hands to turn this round, I just hope he realises that he needs to make significant changes to achieve this otherwise we are screwed!

but the fans cant make the decisions that people like greg dyke can :(

a few games ago a few wins would have got us up the league, we were all on blind faith, the gaps getting bigger and I don't like it. were you their when fat eddie said he thought wally was going to succeed and he thought Wally would do well for the club? it was pretty sad to see as everyone wanted wally out, I feel for AS but he's got to go imho:wave:

Wouldn't it be nice to know what Matthew Benham has to say about what's going on.

and I'm still waiting for the Everton response?

I agree, tactically he needs to change hence why I was suggesting 3 in central midfield which would encourage a passing game, you could even stick Saunders in as the attacking midfielder for creativity. I'm really not a fan of 4-4-2 as it's too rigid and away teams can counter it by simply putting 3 in their midfield leading to a lovely hoof ball game.

Just remember how bad England were playing 4-4-2 with Heskey upfront, it sapped the creativity out of the team and encouraged hoof ball as pretty much every other team packed the midfield. The last two qualifiers they played one upfront and put Rooney back into midfield, the passing was excellent at times.

we tried that in the first hour today, but forster on the right? sorry, defeats the whole point of playing it IMO

Eddie Howe is an absolute miracle worker, what he's achieved is nothing short of amazing. Lots of clubs will be sniffing.

Add that to the fact we didn't have 3 central midfielders on the pitch. I remember him playing Strevens out wide right as well, never understood it.

Not much of that around in football anymore - more's the pity! :(

I agree 442 doesn't work with the players we have, the problem is Scott is so intrenched in his beliefs that he cannot, and will not change. I know there will be opposition to this view but he needs to leave O'Connor out of the team, his contribution to any form of attacking play is zero. Holding midfieders do also get forward and can pick a pass, something KOC cannot do or is told not to do ?.

Have to correct you on a few points,
Slightly higher budget ...it has doubled

haven't started brightly....worse start in over 30 years

our players ....................schezney belongs to Arsenal

Don't have playoff budget.........yes we have

the board ignore the fans...........the fans will ignore the club

To all the Andy Scott fans on here

Brentford won the second division 2 seasons back

Brentford finnished 9th last season

We all know we were there ffs History

Brentford are Bottom of division 1 tonight

and many fans are p.ssed off

Andy Scott

Wycombe Wanderers left back Andy Sandell has scored that same amount of goals as Brentford FC.

wtf

Andy Scott

So teddy you were in the boardroom tonight at Brighton yes?
You only joined the GPG in May this year, correct?

 watch wot you type matey there are people out there that will do things with two lovely clues like that!!!!!!!!!!!

Andy Scott

As someone has mentioned on here Dean Holdsworth is doing a good job at Newport, just won their fifth game in a row, also a Bees Legend

Andy Scott

Mac out for 2/3 weeks! Forster's op may be delayed as we have no strikers! Simpson still knackered and Dave has flu. People aren't doing their jobs and we 'fell asleep'!

Scott has a job on his hands to turn this around now... the irony is that with the full squad available for August/September we should have enough points to deal with these problems!

He says we have conceded two cheap goals otherwise we would have had two clean sheets....... does he not realise we haven't bloody scored any, this is the problem!!!

I actually think in a 4-3-3 O'Connor can focus on just being that holding midfielder and win and retain posession quite well and shouldn't have to worry about creativity, I agree he is not ideal for a 4-4-2 formation by any means. From what I remember O'Connor is excellent at covering the fullbacks\wingers in a holding role.

See what saturday brings as we might be in for a nice treat performance and result wise, what better way to bounce back against Charlton at home!

Thats the left back that replaced Woodman who replaced Dickson who scored how many goals last season? yes?
