You dont get it do you, look where they were in the league, just promoted to the Championship, and he said no,he aint coming, forget it,even 2 years later,he has a job for life at Exeter,Ted Baker loves him, pays his dough,ok? Whats it to do with you how much i bet with due respect..........for the record it was a £1.00,

Brighton are a far bigger club than us, 2 days ago they had already sold 16,000 season tickets for next year and are expexting to sell out for every home game.

Amazing, last season their average attendance was only 6,466. Perhaps has something to do with having been promoted to the Championship and having a magnificent new stadium while we rot away at Griffin Park. If only we could get the 25,000 from Wembley to turn up regularly, slight problem though we couldn't let more than 40% into the ground. 'Sorry you'll have to go and find a bigger club' says Mr Mills.

I think this came from a Chronicle interview with Andrew Mills, in which he said the ideal candidate was not necessarily unemployed, or words to that effect.....

Exactly. I thought he was hinting they had made a choice (before Nicky put together an impressive string of results) and that said man is currently in a job (roadsweeper? hotdog vendor?) and they wouldn't be giving him the job until the end of the season for that reason.

Brightons low average attendance probably has more to do with the capacity only being 8000 and the away end never really being full.

Brighton had a bigger budget than us but you're right, maybe we are what most people see us as and unless we have a big budget for PR, it's performances on the park that will change impressions.

In short, their sugar daddy is bigger than our sugar daddy.

He funded the new stadium-simple. No need for business plans. Lucky Brighton. IMO they will be a Premiership club within 3 seasons on same lines as Reading.

If it is someone already employed then I think Sean O Driscoll has to be the best bet. What are the latest odds by the way? Is Dennis Wise still the favourite?!

Another Manager Poll

They're the only two loan players but yeah I take your point. I knew they had some cash injected by a gambling man but so had we. They were only 8th favourites to win the league but what do bookies know.

Their gambling man has stumped up £95M for the stadium alone!!

at this rate O'Driscoll will be sacked soon

Would be a fantastic appointment but why would he come here when he's a god at Doncaster? Been linked with Fulham and Sheff Utd jobs this season too. Would love to see it happen though, as I'm sure a certain Mr Benham would too.

Of the employed managers I can only think of Hill (Rochdale) and Tisdale (Exeter) in this league but we're forever hearing how they will find themselves at bigger clubs than Brentford. Looking down the leagues you've got Buckle (Torquay) and Wilder (Oxford) but I'd like to think we can do 'better'. Same goes for Westley (Stevenage) plus he has a reputation for hoofball!

Recent comments from Forster and abee suggest that the interviews are taking place very soon and that a decision will be made swiftly after they are concluded. Forster has supposedly been asking to board to reach a decision soon so the out of contract players will know where they stand.

Watched Gerry Francis on Sky last night. Coach at Stoke atm - very unlikely shout I know, but I doubt if he needs the money, is from this area and has connections with the club. The challenge may appeal...

I may be wrong but isn't he a bees fan ?

Isn't here a failed manager, Bristol Rovers, others?

Terry Brown who's currently at AFC WIMBLEDON couldnt be a bad shout?

Mmmmmmm the first mention of Gerry Francis! :suspect:

:D

Gerry Francis might fancy "a 5 year plan" which included developing our own youth setup with a decent right hand man to help him but my guess it is still NFs job to lose.

Seems odd with all these supposed unemployed managers nobody really sticks out or gets the adrenalin going. I think top players earn so much these days they can't really be bothered to cut their managerial teeth in the lower leagues so maybe there is a shortage of talent. Fair play to Robbie Fowler (who is very wealthy) for saying that he will do just that.

Maybe a Fowler/ Francis dream team????

He ruled himself out. I'm not sure if it was because he is very old and has never managed a league club before or not.

I regard both of these qualities as positive; they also apply to me and I'm interviewing myself next week.

With Northampton Bee by your side, the sky will be the limit.

David Howell from Harrow Borough... one of the smallest budgets in the Ryman Premier, and Harrow are 3rd... In the last 4 years has also unearthed Albert Adomah (Bristol City), Robin Shroot (Birmingham City - albeit reserve) and Troy Hewitt (sold to QPR in January)...

A man who knows his football....

Nothing against Terry Brown, but why would you choose him ahead of John Still, if you assume both would be equally available?

Maybe the inexperienced rookie Brown alongside the wily old hand Still and if we offer a long term deal ond or both might not see them through

For the last time, Still will not come to Brentford! FACT!!!!

I know.

As far as these qualities are concerned I am treating myself as the exception. We turned aside an application from Sir Alex Ferguson as he is very old and has never managed a league club. He was very disappointed when I told him I didn't want to listen to his 'new challenge' crap and would he stop phoning me.

I spotted that José Mourinho was in London this week, no idea why... no league experience, though.

You don't step down from being a manager to being a manager's assistant, unless you think you're a failure at being a manager.

For the last time, Still will not come to Brentford! FACT!!!!

Money talks. Or do you know something more about his situation?

Andrew Mills stated in the Swindon programme that Fozzy and Mark Warburton have both applied for the job.......is that a joint application or separate applications to go with maybe others?

I thought you knew who the new manager was ?
Have I wasted my £1 you told me to put on Nicky Forster ?
I did so, in the belief that your secret source was infalliable.
I may have to ask for my quid back.

In his manager role NF has now won 9,drawn 2, and lost 6 games. This includes cup games. Could of been better but then again it could of been a damn sight worse.I like NF very much but in his latest video interveiw i thought he looked tired. I honestly think he can do great things for BFC, but atm I feel he needs someone like Steve Coppell to guide him. I honestly feel it would be too soon to offer him the job as the gaffer. Even AS had a bit of experience when he took over under Terry Butcher. I just feel that NF has been thrown in at the deep end, but I'll be the 1st to say I think he's doing OK.He's gone from being a player to Manager overnight so to speak, but there is none of this ''I'm in charge'' attitude about him.
I think in time he could become a very good manager, could be with the Bees or even some other club. I find him a man to be trusted, but he is no soft touch. In my opinion NF is a Bees legend as a player. Who can ever forget the partnership he forged with Sir Bob Taylor? I would hate to see him go the same way as Andy Scott. It's well known on here what I thought of AS, but I certainly didn't hate him. Still I wont go into all that again. Save your hate for people like Adolph Hitler, Hussain, President Amin and Nick Clegg.
We are all awaiting an announcement soon, I wonder if this week we will get the news we are all waiting for. I know my opinion counts for Jack sh*t but I'd love to see a partnership of Coppell/Forster or Curbishley/Forster.

After yesterday it's interesting to note that Fozzy has got the better of both Hill and Tisdale during his period in charge. We've had a couple of bad performances but overall I think Fozzy and the Breadman are the ones to take us forward. When you put it into perspective, Fozzy was a player on a Thursday morning, the manager by a Thursday afternoon and after being thrown in at the deep end has worked wonders altering our style. He should be given the chance to build his own team and take us forward. IMO the ' inexperienced' tag isn't a strong argument against appointing him. Some of the best managers around at the mo are ' inexperienced.'

I agree .I think the expectations for next season may weigh too heavy for Nicky . I would how ever like him to remain as coach with some one more experienced to help. I think this other person does not need to be full time maybe ?

Just been watching Kieth Hill on Dale Player. He said some really complimentary things about the Bees. He never whinged or made excuses either. You can understand why he is so popular. He was saying the play offs are still on for his side together with Bournemouth and even said we still had an outside chance. But, in his opinion the dark horses were Exeter. He really is a nice guy, you cant help but like him.
