Another Manager Poll

If that's true, then it's 100% not Keith Hill, as neither Rochdale nor himself are going to agree to an announcement being made when they're hot on the chase for the play-offs.
Even I can figure that out.

People keep saying this and whilst I'd agree that an announcement this week does severely narrow the chances of it being Keith Hill, did Alan Knill not just leave a promotion chasing club in Bury for a more lucrative deal and budget at S****horpe? Both likely to be in the same league next season as well. Shows it can be done. Micky Adams, although months ago, left Port Vale when they looked certs for promotion this year.

If it is a manager currently in work, would that not apply to all of them? Even Chris Wilder at Oxford still has something to play for. I can't think of a name we'd be interested in who's season is over already.

Another Manager Poll

I don't know if anyone has considered whilst thinking of managers currently employed by other clubs like Keith Hill, that it equally applies to NF since he is currently employed as a manager. So, talk of a currently employed manager might be a bit of a red herring, or pilchard whatever.

Although not my choice Peter Talyor's out of work has anyone mentioned him,but knowing us it I'll be the dickhead Stimson.

Let's be honest here, they've not moved for Gary Johnson, MA, Blackwell, Wise, Julian Allsop and co who are all probably better mangers than the two you have mentioned, I reckon there is a reason for that, don't you?
Matthew Benham has put us in a position where we don't have to even connsider Aidy Hoofroyd, Dickhead Stimson or Peter Failure.

Another Manager Poll

Noticed in paper last week Alan Shearer said he'd been to a few interviews for manager jobs,we wouldn't would we.Not another Butcher please.

Another Manager Poll

Probably going to be anounced this week according to Late Kick Off. If that's the case I doubt it would be Hill - he's hardly going to walkaway from the oppurtunity of back to back promotions and championship football, even if long term we are a bigger club than Dale.

The talk among the local journos after the game was of Hill going to Sheff Utd

EDIT: sorry should have said local to Rochdale - there weren't any local to Brentford journos there apart from the Bees Player gang

Another Manager Poll

I would be quite surprised if it was anyone but Forster.

Another Manager Poll

Which is where you then get the next question. If one of these got the job,do they get to select their own backroom staff and as Mr Warburton is applying for the post, does he relinquish his coaching job at GP or is that safe?

Another Manager Poll

Personally I do not think Forster is the right man for us at the moment. However I would like Warburton to stay on as a coach. I feel his contacts and eye for a player are the real reason we have done so well recently. Also all these young trialists are probably down to him as well. We are looking at the right sort of player to sign, young and hungry ex-prem youth/non league players. Its the only way your going to sign the next Pratley, Sidwell, Turner, Owusu, Boyd, Beckford etc .

Another Manager Poll

Heard Steve Coppell being interviewed earlier and he certainly gave the impression that he was now available for work! If it is decreed that Nicky is not ready for this yet than I think the board should do all they can to get him back. It should be an interesting summer!

But he has applied to be the next manager,do you think he has the credentials to be the next boss? unless you think he should be head coach and do away with the manager?now theres a thought.

I would be VERY surprised if Forster gets it.. in fact I'd put my mortgage on it that he won't.

Interviewed where? Pray tell. After the balls up that was his time at Brizzle City, Brentford could be the right place to get back into the management game for him.

TalkSport with Keys and Gray about 11ish.Think you can listen to it on their i-player.Good interview

How about Coppell and Warburton?

If the Coppell thing is true, there's a different scenario. If it happened, I don't see why it can't be Coppell with Fozzy and the Breadman as coaches. However, only Coppell or Hill would be ahead of Fozzy IMO. Hill is out realistically and I've my doubts about the Coppell thing.

been out of the country for a bit and haven't read through all the above posts, but fwiw i really hope forster gets the job full time. good luck nicky.

Another Manager Poll

I like and rate Hill but just don't see

a) him leaving 'Dale and moving down south for a league 1 side especially while they're still in contention for play offs
b) Him ticking enough criteria boxes - no track record of working with bigger budget or any proven record at this level yet.

If Coppell is back in the frame and I haven't heard thd interview I think I'd lump on him being appointed in some capacity and U'd be more than happy

Cant believe that everyone seems to be ignoring and overlooking the most qualified and best candidate for the job... ALAN CURBISHLEY ..
Excellent manager with premiership experience.. London based, unemployed (I stand corrected on that!) , Right man, right club right time !.

I think you did wonders at Charlton 15 years ago.
Do you still have the fire in your belly after disappointing spells at Wet Spam + Southampton ?

I don't think he's been ignored. I suspect he's been written off as most folk can't see him taking a big step down-bit like Hughton.

I think Hill's record over the last few years ticks all the boxes but I agree that we are in the wrong part of the country and are the wrong size of club to make it even remotely likely that he is an option. Coppell, however, would make some kind of sense. I always suspected that he would come back into the game somewhere and as a club that he's familar with and which will allow him to work away from the pressure of the spotlight we just might be in the frame. And apart from an announcement that Lionel Road is now a dead cert I can't think of anything that could possibly be better news for us.

Just for the record Curbishley got WHU out of the sh*t and saved them from relegation.. Followed that up with a top ten finish the next season.. He left because the WHU board started selling players without bothering telling him.. Beebopalula is most probably right though, he wont take the step down to league one..

I often confuse him with Pardew too.

I reckon he's definitely someone we've been looking to get in. Whether or not he wants to come to us remains to be seen.

Would cost something in the region of 1.5 million a year.Would only manage in the Premiership and wouldnt come to league 1.

Long time since he was in management. I think if he was genuine about wanting to get back into the game he would have done so before now. I'd be concerned about employing someone who hasn't managed for a few years. Anyway, Charlton will be looking for a new Manager soon and I would think if he wants a job that one would be his ! Its a No from me to AC (although as a mentor to NF he would be a good shout) . As for him costing £1.5m per year thats a joke surely. Whats the going rate for an ex Premiership manager who has been out of the game as long as he has. Probably about 20% of your figure.

He is a proven manager and i am sure a great bloke too.

He would, however, command a far larger salary that foz, probably want more back-up staff (who would probably be on higher wages than warburton), more expenses, better hotels ------ the 'on costs' would probably quickly eat into our playing budget.

Good idea but NF for me please. And asap so he can plan player exits and entrances. and then take a well-earned holiday before the fun and frolics of 2011/12 ! Up the Bees!!!!

Why would the club allow him to do that?

Whenever or whoever the announcement is can we please have a fancy press conference with the world's press (ok Banana & Greenholme) & proper name places on the table & hire a rent-a-mob crowd for the Braemar forecourt. Not just a simple page on the OS.

Coppell/Forster/Warburton team !

Steve has a habit of walking out though if he doesnt get his own way......................

That's incorrect and presumably your opinion. There's a lot more to it, Coppell is a very private person who to the best of my knowldege has never gone public on his reasons for leaving Man City or Bristol City and I suspect never will while he's involved in football in any capacity.

I've been a Coppell fans for ages, I get the impression that he won't be our next manager which is a shame. When he talks he says very little but uses a fair few words IMO, however I always felt compelled to listen and pretty satisfied with what he had to say. He comes across as a humble guy with a small ego, that would be refreshing after the past few seasons, the tactical mastery wouldn't go amiss too.
