Bees Superstore

Drove past it today, Thought it looked a bit odd without any windows? Or maybe that’s just me

Bees Superstore

To be fair I drove past before any of the advertisement was up, just seen a recent picture. So looks completely different to what I saw in person earlier today

They're doing a great job, drove passed yesterday.
Great advertising for all those motorists getting on the M4.

Oh boy, my two daughters like football and shopping £££

I‘ve been waiting ages for the kit shirts to be back in stock - finally saw them online on Saturday.
Ordered (with a Kick Out Racism tshirt) on Sunday night, arrived this morning - excellent!
Well done new store. :sorted::sorted:

Reckon those queuing up in the 2 lefthand lanes of the A4 to get on the M4 get a pretty good look.

That’s where a visionary marketing manager would have set up a drive-thru club shop just for that audience on the A4 - a captive market, if ever there was one. If everybody trying to get onto the westbound M4 was forced to buy an ‘Est. 1819’ Brentford key ring, we’d be able to pay off the stadium debt AND buy QPR (and then close them down) within 12 months.

Just another wasted opportunity ?

That's what I was stating.
That building used to be hidden by trees, now they've been
chopped the adverts are clearly seen.

My Son had an interview yesterday for the new club shop, he said his interview was with Marcus Gayle.

Can you disclose what sort of questions he was asked in the interview please? This might help us know whether or not the shop will be Same Old, Same Old, or Under New Management.

"If a customer orders 2 x Home shirts in M, 1 x GK shirt in a Kids L, 2 pens and a cuddly toy; how many shirts will you refund them for?"

If a person orders 1 x child shirt, child shorts, child socks and a child whateveritis, and shirts and shorts in that size are not available, and this customer is in Australia. Do you just sent them the socks?

Correct answer: Yes

A good question to start off the interview could be:

If you order for the shop a thousand key rings and mistakenly have ‘Est. 1819’ engraved on them, what do you do when customers point this out?

a) Admit the mistake, withdraw them from sale, and just the costs off.
b) Lie to the customers and nonsensically claim the key rings actually refer to the 2018/19 season.
c) Lie to the Chairman when challenged, say they’ve all been returned to the manufacturer and deny they are even on sale in the shop whilst they are actually on sale at the shop and there are photos to prove this.

actually your questions doesn't take it all into account and rather simplifies the continual cock ups.

however both junior B2B's now have their full GK kit (3 months after order placed), I think they'll out grow soon! :):fishing:

25 new staff personally chosen by Marcus Gayle. So it's all his fault :fishing:

New picture of stocked-up Bees Superstore released. This is not a drill.

Look‘s like they’ve only got Emperor New Clothes replica tops in size XXXXL and a female size XXXS :(

Really looking to be proved totally wrong on Saturday, and us moving forward and seeing the utterly shameful fiasco that has been the club shop for years being put well behind us all.

@ManorBee there‘s an extremely well documented backstory and history to all the scepticism on the club shop that stretches back years. It might also be helpful to understand that supporting any football club doesn’t automatically equate to blindly supporting e.g. it’s catering operations or the stewards. ?

Bees Superstore

Silly Hat it also includes allowing a bit of latitude. We have never been big enough to justify big investment in the shop. The club are making a big effort to improve. Not long ago we were not even going to have a shop. Give it time and maybe things will improve. The same as has happened with the team. So easy to moan!

See my para 2 above. Nobody has ever, ever argued that we should have a megastore. But the way the club shop has been woefully mismanaged over the last few years has been remarkable. The range of goods on sale is pathetic, they *always* run out of stock within days, they’ve literally lied to the Chairman over their mistakes (hopefully the culprit for that is no longer there), and the portakabin run by Winnie had a better choice of items. Nobody argued for a ‘big investment’ in the shop, just a properly and professionally run one. An entity trying to sell a brand to its paying customers consisting of some pint glasses, bucket hats at £75, some polo shirts without any discernible connection to Brentford other than an embroidered Bee, and a rack of replica tops in size XXXL does not a club shop make. Hopefully the new place will completely put behind the club the previous shambles, and offer customers a decent choice and range of items. I’m excited to see the new place.

Sorry Silly Hat but maybe the historic sales did not justify a wide range. What you do not sell gets sold off in sales just increasing the loses that as a club that loses loads each year could not be justified. We have until the last half dozen years survived on a supporter base of 5k or less. It is now realistically only between 10k-15k. We are never going to have a big merchandise requirement. I know of one club that even spelt the name wrong on its new scarves which it sold to its supporters until one pointed it out!!!!

Again, nobody is after a megastore. But the range of stuff on sale at Brentford over the last ten years is pathetic compared to the club shops operated by e.g. Ipswich Town, Shrewsbury, and Port Vale (all shops I’ve been into during that period).

On misspelt scarves, see below (NOT sold by the club shop I should add).

Chicken and egg innit - can't sell much if you don't have much... noone here is wanting the club shop to have issues, we all hope to see competence... but that's all it is in recent experience, hope rather than expectation...

I think there's an apostrophe missing.
Contentious! ‘Bees’ could be seen as an attributive noun rather than a possessive one in which case no apostrophe is needed
I imagine the club spent many hours debating this thorny grammatical conundrum

Whilst I bow to your intellectual explanation, I would prefer a space between Super and Store. Many clubs have Superstores, we should be different.

Really???
What should we have?
A super store or a superstore?
Does it really mean that much?

Interesting. Scarves could be seen as a possessive noun rather than an attributive one, in which case an apostrophe is needed, i.e. previous games’ half and half scarves.

I hope I’m adding value here.

Would the fact it is preceeded by 'the' affect the requirement for an apostrophe?
