..................jeepers............what a punch..........................

Boxing

Guinness sales will now be on the up in Manchester. There's no point in Hatton fighting again. What's his next step... back to Commonwealth or British title's. I don't think so. OK he's puts bums on seats in Vegas, but you will not get 25,000 out there again after that display. Would you pay good money to watch him for a swan-song at Eastlands against a no-hoper.

Boxing

As a big fan of Ricky he should give up now -Manny knocked him into the middle of next week and he cut a pitiful figure on the canvas.... enoughs enough, just glad he wasn't too badly hurt.

Boxing

 nuff respect to Ricky though for taking on the best - what's the odds on Mayweather taking on Manny?? bet he runs a mile, the big girl...

Boxing

That was some punch........... I think Hutton ought to retire now.........

Boxing

Here it is

F*ck me, what a finishing punch ! Laid him out like a corpse....

looking at the fight again, Hatton is very lucky to still be alive, IMO.

What the hell did his trainer prepare him for? An orthodox boxer? Because he didn't seem prepared for a 'southpaw' style boxer.

I just hope Hatton heals well and retires and enjoys his money.

That is probably one the most devestating punches I've ever seen , I understand there was some fall out with Mayweather Senoir earlier in the week, but I would suggest that Hatton just can't defend against a southpaw no matter how hard he trains and he should just hang up his gloves.

Boxing

jaysus. ricky got knocked the **** out! Just glad to see he is still alive and hopefully there will be no long lasting consequences. No shame in getting beat by Manny in my opinion, a seriously good fighter who seems happy to fight anyone.

Boxing

I thought Len Hutton called it a day years ago.

;) ;) ;) ;)

It is so easy to press the wrong key on the board WB..... well that is my excuse and I am sticking to it

Never done it yourself then....

Boxing

Hatton had his hands too low and was ponderous at best

He was lucky to come out for the second round

You can see Manny biding his time for the big punch-he hurt Hatton with every punch and Ricky was 'slapping'

Believe that I would believe anything.........

anyway sometimes it is called a senior moment when you reach my age...so Mr Weymouth keeps telling me and he should know about things like that....

Another boxing death.

Darren Sutherland 4-0 (4) who won bronze in Beijing for Ireland, (lost in the semi's to James DeGale) has hung himself. He was found by manager Frank Maloney, who suffered a heart attack on the discovery. Thankfully, Maloney is recovering in hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

Hanwell Town's physio was until recently Darren's personal physio and she only had the news broken to her tonight on arriving at Brook House for a friendly. I know she will be devastated at this tragedy.

When I last spoke to her personally she said that darker forces were working around Darren and that his entourage of hangers on were growing by the day.
She believed Darren was unhappy with some of the goings on including removing her from his team in favour of groups favoured by his management group. Tipped to go on to avenge his Beijing defeat to DeGale, at professional level having previously beating him twice as an amatuer, Sutherland was being groomed by Maloney for great things inc propelling his management back into front line television coverage the like of which they had not seen for some time!

Boxing

Fight tonight between Mayweather Jnr & Marquez.....The bookies give Marquez no chance, He's currently 4/1 with Mayweather 1/4....OK Marquez has never fought over 135 lbs & has moved up 2 classes, but Mayweather hasn't boxed since Hatton nearly two years ago. Any chance of a upset.

Boxing

Not bad odds when you think about it, but Mayweather is one of the best ever, First round might be a bit of rust but I think he will win easily in the end.

Boxing

The supermiddleweight "Super six" kicked of last night.

Arthur Abraham W KO 12 Jermain Taylor (Retains IBF title)

"King" Arthur sparked Taylor with about 15 secoonds to go http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8-tlIVaNb8&feature=related

Taylor has been left with a servere concussion and short-term memory loss. Hope he is back on his feet soon enough, although it may be time to take off the boxing gloves and get a 9 to 5. He has now lost 4 of his last five and been KO'd in three of them.

Carl Froch W SD 12 Andre Dirrell (Retains WBC title)

Apparently, it was a mess of a fight with Dirrell contantly retreating and holding and Froch swinging wildly and missing. Froch triumphed 113-114, 115-113 and 115-112 in what is being called a hometown decision. Froch will fight Kessler in the new year in a WBC-WBA unification bout (should Kessler come through Andre Ward next month)

Boxing

Taylor should just retire, he hasn't got it anymore. As for Froch, He needs to step it up big time against Kessler if he wants to win

Does anyone know what time roughly the Haye v Valuev fight is likely to start? I'm in two minds whether or not to book this.

Probably about the time the bell for the beginning of the first round rings! Glad to be of service :D

Streuth!

Beast and wife

Boxing

According to Haye's manager it will be 10pm-10.30pm for Haye to walk out and its all down to the x-factor................

Boxing

Boxing

Haye is odds on with all the English bookies, even as short as 8/13  Valuev is massive both in stature & price. Is Haye that good ?

Name the one sport in which neither the spectators nor the participants know the score or the leader until the contest ends.

lol merked ISB

Boxing

Read in the paper that Haye and his manager are going to refues to allow the fight to start any earlier than 10 (the original scheduled time) cos they don't want to eat into the PPV revenue by clashing with X Factor.

Sad, but true.

lol surely X-factor is for pre-pubescent teens......hardly gonna get the average boxing fan watching !

I know, but that's what Haye's manager/agent said! He seemed pretty annoyed about it too...

Personally I think Valuev will win. Might be worth a bit of cash on it. I think his size and weight advantage will seal it for me.

:imwith:

Haye is going to have trouble hitting his head and maintaining enough power to hurt him. Very dangerous to get close enough to upper cut him too. I'm no expert on Haye's style but I would imagine he is going to have to rely heavily on dodging Valuev's jabs and hooks with a quick sidestep and getting in some big body shots from round the side, not unsimilar to Hatton's technique in his prime.

Boxing

watching the build up to it, Valuev reminds me of Andre the Giant from the WWF, very very cumbersome, and really looks like slow motion when he is punching, although saying that, if he lands one, it's goodnight I would imagine. Haye just has to box smart, and keep moving the big guy.

But if Mum and kids have the main TV on X Factor surely it is better if the fight starts after that - evryone is happy and it might be worth a few more subsciptions.
