Do We Need Another Forward??
What about Darren Bent for a loan period.
Proven goalscorer at a higher level and a good voice in the dressing room.

Not happening. His wage is rumoured to be 65K a week and he cost them 24 million. He is not playing but if we weren't willing to pay Danny Graham's wages, we certainly wont be paying Darren's retirement fund....
Yes we do need a striker, I see M.B Danish side are clear at the top of the there table in Denmark premier lge , No idea who they have or if they are any good? but it may well be worth a sniff, The Danish lge I would presume is between the championship and lge 1. but really no idea apart from watching a game there 20 yrs ago in there top lge at the time and reminded me of Lge 1.
They have got Pinone Sisto who seems to play up front or on the wing. A very exciting prospect!

Theres plenty of talent out there. I wouldnt turn down: Eoin Doyle, Brad Walker, Luke Garbutt, Todd Kane, Nathan Ake, Jermaine Anderson, Rob Kiernan, Massimo Luongo, Sean Murray, Connor McAleny, Callum Robinson, Thorgen Hazard, Lloyd Isgrove - all potentially affordable

Lille tried to buy him in the summer, problems with international clearance
Massimo Luongo? nope. Eoin Doyle nope. Callum Robinson NOPE - we've already got a striker whos too young to start sat in our reserves. Jermaine Anderson and Conor McAleny play in positions we've got adequate cover so would be a waste of money
and Thorgen Hazard, Lloyd Isgrove, Luke Garbutt, Nathan Ake, Sean Murray affordable?! each of them would easily command a good few million. I suppose John Stones and Adnan Januzaj are affordable as well?
The only ones I sort of agree on are Rob Kiernan and Todd Kane but with Moses looking more and more like the best right IN THE WORLD every day, they'd be surplus to requirments. If you want to play scout a young affordable striker with a chance of starting would be great
Why would we want Kiernan we have enough cover at CB.
Going to be interesting to see who we bring in. I see a striker as a
You could be waiting a little time.

Chronicle Twitter reporting that there could be something happening tomorrow.
Could be Hoban which I find really weird

Kiernan would be a good Kev replacement

Little as in 24 hours?
Little as in 24 hours?
Hope your correct.
Kiernan would be a good Kev replacement, could play RB, CB and CDM
McAleny on loan would cover Hogan's injury, Hazard would be a longshot but Chelsea local and we could give him regular playing time and a good wage, the other ones I was thinking more on loan, other than Murray who isnt very talented but not playing for Watford, he would have come through under Warbs stewardship.
I don't think its fair to compare those suggestions to Januzaj and Stones but alright.
Im not saying we should sign all these players but I reckon there's a lot of talent that we're far more likely to have a chance with now we're doing do well. Worst thing to do would be to rest on our laurels, we should always add talent where/if we can

Agree but - apart from a striker who is up to it already - would expect us to be planning for understudies/successors to some of our main men.
Even if FFP allowed for it i wouldn't really see the point in shelling out big bucks for someone like Ake.
Rather get the best of the up and coming talent lower down the ladder, loan them back where they've come from (or up a level etc) and hopefully more of a finished article when needed here
No need to worry now till January, lets all hope Andre stays fit and doesn't get tired in the next 6 weeks. Big mistake I feel but many of here will disagree.
Actually, I think you'll find that lots would share your nervousness over the lack of cover for Andre, but I think it's worth bearing in mind that it may not be that we've decided not to loan someone, rather that we may not have been able to secure anyone who we felt would be an adequate replacement/competition for him.

Somebody better then NP or Betinho, there was at least 3 or 4 from today signings. Are you saying we couldn't have got somebody in within the last 2 months. If Andre stays fit and can play 4 games in 10 days over xmas no issue. We just seem to have blinkers on when it comes to forwards.

we also have smith....
Who are these "3 or 4" better than NP or Betinho?
Common knowledge we've missed/withdrawn from a few targets
Getting a loanee in who isnt fully fit doesn't make too much sense. I'd be be very surprised if we haven't got our eyes on a permanent signing when the window re-opens
If we have to take a calculated gamble til Jan i"d rather that than get the wrong man in who needs matches to get fit
Mackail Smith, Chris O'Grady , Tom Lawrence, Noel Hunt are you telling me NP and Betinho are better then all these.
I can't see how any of those are "better"; just a list of player unwanted by their clubs. None have been mentioned on the GPG as possible targets this season. Why would we waste money on them?
Three of them can't get games for clubs below us in the table so not bothered we haven't signed if honest.
Don't tell me you think they are worse then NP and Betinho. Just because they can't get a game for their team doesn't mean there not ok players. JT can't get a game with us but I would sign him tomorrow if I was manager of a championship club.. Was just hoping for a short term loan to cover for the Xmas break. Loving the football but just fear for Andre.

I reckon MW is now happy with what we've got for now which suggests Nick is getting to the level required and Smith is fit again.
While Andre remains fit and on fire not worried, nice to have extra cover but Warbs hasn't got much wrong.
Oh and I don't want OK players anymore, it's the new Brentford!
I have no idea of how good or how fit they are or whether, in the eyes of Warbs, are better than what we have
It's all very well producing a list of players that have gone on loan however when looking at players to come in we no longer just deal in numbers, they have to improve what we have and be able to fit in with the team dynamics that has been built up
We have been looking but have not been able to find players that the management team consider suitable.
You may think that it is a mistake not getting someone in in the off chance however those that might have come would probably not come as a bench warmer
Foitball is never as simple as " we need a forward, let's go and borrow one" , we didn't get one so let's move on please
