Enough is Enough

I repeat my question: what does our Chairman do, and how much does he earn?

How much does he earn? That's a different question to "how much does he get paid".....

Which answer do you want?

Enough is Enough

Yep. It would seem that you and your best mates from TITS have drawn far too much attention to it...

Good. There's some poor judgement from some people in the club, but that tops it all. #lookatme

What a great day so far. Gr8 journey. A lovely hug from Delia. Lunch with the charming Ed Balls and to cap it all a bear hug with Sergi C

Tweet now deleted.

So what does our beloved Chairman do? Is making patronising tweets part of his job description? And how much do the club pay him?

Enough is Enough

Laying the blame purely at the feet of the midfield would be misguided. I've not seen us so poor defensively for ages - worse than at any point in the last few years.

We're gifting teams a constant supply of penalties, as well as own goals and just generally sh*t defending. It starts from the front and the five in front of the defense are playing terribly, but our back four are all over the place at the minute.

Yes , they are not getting the protection from the midfield, in these latter months, and there is not good enough service to our front line as well. That is only my opinion Feel free to disagree with me. But I feel our midfield is a missmatch. Cast your mind back to the beginning of the season our defense were outstanding. But whatever happens if our short comings are not identified and addressed we are going down. Just lately teams are carving us up at will. and **** me the effort that has gone into this club in the last four years is up in smoke.

The geezer is a gold plated P@#@*, sounds as if Crown day is made by meeting celebrities & quality of hospitality, i doubt he even watches the game

Enough is Enough

Maybe you are correct.

Our problems are now deeper.

OK, so I guess we will all have to wait for the substance! At the moment, you are only giving us evidence-free rabble rousing! Fun, but not particularly helpful.

Enough is Enough

He's clearly a very talented financial director who has helped MB manage and scale his other businesses and that makes him an asset as a trusted advisor to MB in what is a cut throat business of football.

I read it he's just being friendly/polite and inclusive with his tweet. In the context of the game, the abject performance of the team and the result, he probably felt pressured to remove it. I personally don't think he should be scapegoated for the performance of Smith & Co today.

Enough is Enough

The problem I see is that lately we just don't press the opposition.

The defence need to push higher and get the midfield to do likewise. I suspect that because we have a relatively slow left back in Barbet or Bjelland, the defence has decided it would rather sit deeper and close out space behind us.

The result is acres of room between the midfield and back four which players like Pritchard exploit with ease.

I feel with a proper left back we could push higher with the comfort of some recovery pace behind.

Thus I would play Tom Field until Elder or Henry are fit. Macca is now a must alongside Woods or Yennaris. He's not the best player but we need 1 or 2 goulie munching leaders in midfield. Right now we're too powderpuff

First off the tweet is harmless.
Secondly...why are we even talking about this? Surely what's happening on the pitch is of more concern than our chairman getting a hug from a chef?

Enough is Enough

What does he do then?

Chairs board meetings, ensures that the correct legal and administrative procedures are followed and that the board functions effectively.

A Chairman has a fair bit of responsibility but very little power. He may carry influence but that depends on his personal experience and credibility.

Agree we should immediately invest in performance rather than commercial but imo we need to prioritise bringing in an intelligent proven tactical coach to work with Smith, someone like that Swansea Spanish coach we were linked to who was known at malaga for his tactical aptitude.

He is at Leeds with Gary Monk and doing rather well at the moment.

I've just had Donna Summer* on the phone. She feels the same.

Agree about the pressing. That was what worked so well at QPR. Today there was space everywhere.

I think there's still the ghosts of Ron Noades and Bill Dodgin lurking somewhere at GPark. Best exorcise them too, they must be responsible for something bad!

Ps. Is Jim Sirrell still coaching? Maybe he's the man we need!

OK I am hearing that it's Stevenage all over again after the match......

Lump on promotion lol

Out of interest?
Were you there?
I'm currently on the 5.30 out of Norwich

Whether someone is at the game is irrelevant - they are still entitled to an opinion.

Exercise Noades by all means but Bill Dodgins influence should be cherished. Only good will come from it.

We are supposed to be a club that does things differently from others to close the obvious gap in finances. Gradually over the past two years, the systems put in place have been whittled away. We had a philosophy of playing good football running through all teams at the club. Gone. We had an innovative head of football philosophy to oversee this. Gone. We had a system of coaches, so that any head coach could neatly slot into this system and if he went, the system remained the same and he'd be easy to replace. Gone. Succession planning. Gone. One of the most attractive sides to watch in the league. Gone. One of the fittest teams in the league that would snap at the opposition's heels from the off and would often score at the death, looking to score more. Gone.

Obviously players come and go. We've sold well and done well to attract players like Egan and Bentley. But if Smith goes, there is realistically no one to take over and no style, philosophy or tactics to continue. There is no point getting a young, idealistic coach in unless the rest of the structure is in place. We need a man manager who can communicate to players what their jobs are, as well as some leadership and bite on the pitch. Rubbish today and it's been on the cards for a while.
Spot on mate. Well put. What you say is what worries me. From being an innovation we are looking like a run of the mill League one side with no structural support

Not funny. But.....I would say when I see FFP mentioned I think of the amount of non plsying club employees drawing a wage. Crazy line up. Yet the fans shares were removed to save money.

Enough is Enough

So we lost to a good Fulham side, lost to Blackburn under awful playing conditions, literally murdered Brum last weekend and probably we were shambolic today but all in all not sure what is the purpose of this thread.

We need marketing as I haven't seen 2/3 thousands fans being locked outside of Griffin Park every other week and we need this non supporters before we moved to our new ground.

We are going through a bad run, with confidence low but I remember coming on here post the QPR game .... wish this thread was started then as it may have had more value to it.

Bottom line is that we are a small club. Quality of the squad has traded down every year in the Championship and at the moment, we have (as far as I am concerned) the 3 best available midfielders at the club unavailable (Judge, Jota and McCleod) and players in the midfield who just are not good enough. We have 1 bloke up front who scores the majority of our goals. Personally, unless we are going to breach FFP, I think we need to sell Hogan in January as we need serious investment in the squad (obviously I want to keep our main goalscorer). Otherwise, I think we are in very serious danger of going down.

What a good post. Very well said. Perhaps the club should hold an enquiry to establish just who or whom has dismantled a top class system.

QPR was a great night but let's not forget that, even including that result, we have taken 5 points from a possible 27 since the beginning of October. When does a bad run become a f**king nightmare that requires action??

I am concerned but I see the bigger picture in that we have two quality players to come back into the team in Judge and Henry whom both have not featured this year. Our form is a concern no doubt about it we just need a lucky 1-0 win from somewhere. There will always be a knee jerk reaction after a heavy loss and our 4 consecutive defeat but I think we have got enough about us to stay in this division.

my biggest concern is that if Hogan leaves in January. We should resist all offers for him and I know clubs will be bidding for him.

I will be totally amazed if Hogan is still our player on 1st Feb. I also don't think we will have seen either Judge or Henry by then. And by then we could be in a whole heap of poo.

Enough is Enough

I can think of a number of bad runs over the years which have been brought to an end by the manager finally deciding to select a player who has been out favour for no apparent reason:
-1980/81 Callaghan finally decides to play Jim McNichol
-1989/90 Perrynan recalls Alan Cockram to the side when we were 4-6 points adrift at the bottom. End up mid table
-2007/08 coinciding with Butchers sacking, Alan Connell recalled to the side (remember a thread on here headed "Connell must start"

Problem is I'm not sure there is an individual player in the current squad who can turn things round. Whilst I think Hoffman and Kerschbaumer are getting a raw deal I don't see either as season changers

I think the chances of Hogan being a Brentford player in February are higher now than they were 24 hours ago. And not because interest will have fallen.

To try and guess what you're thinking, the club will be more inclined to resist all offers?
