Couple of unexpected losses by Copenhagen in last two weeks means the gap is down to 3 points again with Mitjylland at home to Copenhagen next Sunday.

A win from Mitjylland and they are level on points ... although Copenhagen have a +10 better GD.

As a slight aside, a bit surprised at the lack of traffic from most of the GPG's Danish contingent on this thread. (Compared to that on the Eriksen thread that is). Appreciate that not many maybe FCM 'fans', but thought it would be the thread to discuss Danish football in general......

The hope isn't over yet.

It has been quite a strange season.

After the first 13 matches FCM was 6 points ahead of FC Kopenhagen.
After 24 games FC Kopenhagen was 9 point ahead of FCM.

FCM really had a bad spell in the autumm.

If they had won (match 28 out of 32) yesterday they would have had equal points, but with a better goal difference in favour of FC Kopenhagen. At least FCM is playing better football at the moment than FC Kopenhagen, but they will need a bit of luck to be champions.

At least they have a good chance of getting to the Cup-final this year. They would be clear favourites there.

Depending on how the rest of seasons ends there could be an interesting debate about reasons and conclusions afterwards,

If we wins it all. Every negative thing would been forgotten in the meantime.

Random aside: I love the round robin playoff for small leagues. You get so many pivotal matchups at the end of the season.

According to the Wikipedia page for this season's Superliga:

"Rules for classification: 1) Points; 2) Goal difference; 3) Goals scored; 4) Away goals scored; 5) Play-off (played on neutral ground if determining teams for different rounds); 6) Draw.[18][19]"

So GD, not head to head.

It's one way traffic. How FCM aren't 3 ahead I don't know. One goal not given for an offside which didn't look clear from replays too.

This is the worst performing FCM side in at least a decade, and yet we're in Europa League - that's crazy. We'll get absolutely battered by Benfica in the next round though, so there is no chance of making it to the CHL again.

Look on the bright side. Benfica have been selling players, and perhaps the replacements won’t be as good or up to speed.

Terrible match to watch , two very poor sides but congrats to FCM and Danish football in general , 3 teams in the group stage is very good to see
