I’d love to pay to go and watch a football match and not be able to see anything at all for 15 minutes whilst choking on smoke and watching any asthmatics being attended to by paramedics. That would be a great experience ?

Strange as it may seem, smoke, much like the idiots that produced it, is incapable of rational thought as it does not possess a brain. It will therefore have an unfortunate tendency to spread beyond its immediate vicinity where it can hopefully cause permanent lung damage to those responsible, and cause secondary damage to the innocent.
Much like secondhand smoke!

I really can't see what a flare or smoke-bomb adds to the atmosphere. Can I suggest that you simply light your farts instead as they will be less likely to create problems for people around you - unless of course you were the Phantom Farter of the Ealing Road.

Minor incident on our way back to the car on Saturday……green smoke bomb was lobbed out of a car at quite a few of us Bees waiting to cross under the flyover. No big deal until some bloke drove over it and it burst into flames…. fairly short lived but shows how silly prank could turn into something more quite quickly.
Must have been disgruntled Man U fans as they were heading South towards M3.

I was there too and surprised at it bursting into flames like that when the car went over it.

I’m on the fence as far as pyro goes at football but I assume that when Man City and Spurs use smoke in their stadiums to make their pre match light shows look better, those with breathing difficulties are asked to wait outside?

Yes, both l'Equipe and RMC have done extensive analysis pieces. It does appear that some PSG 'ultras' had joined the Cologne fans, although Nice fans aren't blameless.
