I watched it. I really like the look of him. He's very quick, and very much a target man in terms of holding the ball up for the other forwards. He looks so strong, definitely stronger than Ivan looks, and his pace will be a big plus in our team next season I think. Pretty much everything seemed to go through him and you could see the Circle Bruges players were worried about him. Nusa also looked good for the 60 odd minutes he played. He had a goal ruled out for offside and hit the post too. Looks like our sort of player and it would be brilliant if we re-visited that in the summer in my opinion.Anybody watch the game? How did he get on?
You don’t get the GPG, do you? A 20-second showreel is all we need to come to a decision.Might I suggest we wait until he's had a season or two playing for us before we finally decide he's a bit tosh? Let alone the fact he hasn't even kicked a ball in a Brentford shirt yet!
He's young, he'll need time to adapt. He isn't going to come in and be an Ivan Toney replica from day 1. Oh, and it's not our money!
Don't forget the assessment from 'a mate of mine'You don’t get the GPG, do you? A 20-second showreel is all we need to come to a decision.
Not me, but many on this site will demand that he does hit the ground running, and is an IT replica. I agree he will need a couple of seasons!Might I suggest we wait until he's had a season or two playing for us before we finally decide he's a bit tosh? Different situation, Dervisoglu never wanted to play for us, having signed he attempted to get out of it. It appears that this young man’s attitude is quite the reverse, indeed it maybe that his desire to play for the Bees is behind his loss of form.I know this all tongue and cheek but can anyone remember the last "flop" we bought who played upfront, halil dervisoglu ?
Hmm., still a work in progress then until he can hit the frame 3 times a game. Did they practice a crossbar challenge at half time?Nusa also looked good for the 60 odd minutes he played. There is a choice, you can buy for the "now" like Fulscum with a squad average age of nearly 30 on big wages or trust your recruitment, coaches & manager to build for the future without risking oblivion for the next 20 years back in the lower leagues.Who do you consider a dud signing?
I’ll concede we haven’t seen Mikel at his best yet, Hickey and Schade both look special but injured. Collins and KLP both for the future but were superb vs United at the weekend.
Is that the IT that hasnt scored in 6 and didnt score in his first 4 games? Not me, but many on this site will demand that he does hit the ground running, and is an IT replica. I agree he will need a couple of seasons!
Can you please stop it ! You are not supposed to have watched him and make a sensible post . Please retract the above and replace with we have paid too much for a player from the Belgium version of the National LeagueI watched it. I really like the look of him. Best post we have had so far on him , sounds promising , exciting !I watched it. I really like the look of him. And if that showreel doesn’t include at least one of the following, the default classification is “I’m not sure about this one”:You don’t get the GPG, do you? A 20-second showreel is all we need to come to a decision.
It's a YES from me, you're through to Judges Houses.to the tune of Copacabana:
"they call him Igor; Igor Thiago.. the boy from brazil now from hownslow.
he'll drop his shoulder, and samba past ya
as he's scores in the goal, it's not shearer or cole it's Igor; Igor Thiago."
thanks...
? ?It's a YES from me, you're through to Judges Houses.
Have we got Marcus Gayle Mk 2 on our hands.............. excellentThe man was signed for his size, his speed, and his talent. It may take time but it will shine through. He was just dealing with an injury and is going through a streak of poor luck. Last season, he was in the Bulgarian league. He had to adjust in a massive step up in quality to the Belgian league. And next year will be a similarly massive step. It may take time, but with his physical tools he will come good
Won't it be a bit small for him??Will be going to FC Bruges vs. PAOK on Thursday night. Can’t wait to see him in action. Will probably wear my Bees shirt!
Saving them up for us.Has he scored a single goal since we signed him?
I’m sad to say it would probably for himWon't it be a bit small for him??
(As well as being the wrong colour).
Last goal was 30th Jan...got a red card soon after and then got injuredHas he scored a single goal since we signed him?
What like Fred?He hasn't even got a proper Brazilian name.
No, but Brian Riemer has got a yellow card, and Bruges lead 2-0.Playing now. Anyone watching for a report?
Just don't talk to him!!Will be going to FC Bruges vs. PAOK on Thursday night. Can’t wait to see him in action. Will probably wear my Bees shirt!
Nor has Toney in the same periodHas he scored a single goal since we signed him?
???Nor has Toney in the same period
100% agree. He has so much more to his game than just goals and it feels like Club Brugge players are constantly looking for him and opposition players seem terrified of him. He's usually got two defenders on him so unsurprisingly it's stifling him from scoring goals but clearly that's creating chances for other team members, so not necessarily a bad thing. This guy is an absolute unit. Unfortunately, he can't score for us anymore, probably just has too much pressure and needs a goal or two to regain confidence.
Missed two or three clear-cut chances. Other than that, what a game. Worked so hard, won almost everything up front against two decent defenders. His link up play also improved a lot this season, really important up front for us now. If he keeps developing like this I think he could make it honestly.
For Ivan to stay he will have to sign another contract, and I cannot see him doing that,???
Personally Byran is better than Ivan and I would not be surprised to see him go and Ivan stay

That's superb, out of interest, how are songs started at Brentford? (or any other club for that matter)to the tune of Copacabana:
"they call him Igor; Igor Thiago.. the boy from brazil now from hownslow.
he'll drop his shoulder, and samba past ya
as he's scores in the goal, it's not shearer or cole it's Igor; Igor Thiago."
thanks...
No room for Keats or Shelley then, either.???

As a patient fan I'd suggest he's at least allowed 20 minutes in the sunshine against Boreham Wood before the knives come out. If he looks a big sluggish then, he's toast. You don’t get the GPG, do you? A 20-second showreel is all we need to come to a decision.
Even Ivan Toney wasn’t Ivan Toney from day 1.Might I suggest we wait until he's had a season or two playing for us before we finally decide he's a bit tosh? Let alone the fact he hasn't even kicked a ball in a Brentford shirt yet!

Or la Bamba.Ig -Or - T- Ar - Go
.... fits beautifully into KC and the Sunshine band's football anthem "Give it Up"
???
Sounds good. Matthew Benham is on record saying he’s not bothered how many the forwards score if they are bringing something to the play during the game. This guy is an absolute unit. Unfortunately, he can't score for us anymore, probably just has too much pressure and needs a goal or two to regain confidence.

We’ve spent a lot of money on him.Getting absolutely hammered here

Big-money Brentford arrival slated - Insistence Bees may end up regretting quick-fire move
Brentford may end up regretting their decision to spend big on Club Brugge striker Igor Thiago, as he’ll never be good enough for the Premier League. That’s at least according to Thomas Radzinski, who is convinced the striker won’t be up to the mark once he arrives in England. Brentford...sportwitness.co.uk
We’ve spent a lot of money on him.
We have to trust the system, they must have seen something in his performances.
The worrying thing is I’m not sure I do “trust the system” any more. Big summer ahead, and we also really need this one to land. We’ve spent a lot of money on him.

Oh well ?The worrying thing is I’m not sure I do “trust the system” any more.
Why don’t you trust the strategy? The worrying thing is I’m not sure I do “trust the system” any more. Big summer ahead, and we also really need this one to land.
Er, who’s Thomas Radzinsky?Getting absolutely hammered here
