With IT out we are only left with the Prems best double act and another who pops in a hat-trick! (written with my satitical irony pen, not my wet pencil)

Someone with a perverse sense of humour might look at this situation and think..

“..we turned down one of the Club Brugge players because we discovered that they had a potential knee problem. Perhaps, the documents got mixed up at some point and we took the wrong guy.”

Someone with a sensible sense of humour might look at this situation and think..

“..God. How unfortunate. But, hey ho, we’ve been waiting for him for a while anyway, so what’s another few weeks.”

Someone in Phil Giles’ position might look at this situation and think..

“..We’ve been able to fill in. It’s not a major problem in my opinion.”

How does anyone sleep at night with such wet sheets? Today (just like any day in the past 4 years or so) is the best day to be a Bee
f*** knows how they would have coped in 1997/1998 seeing Ricky Reina up front with Ryan Denys.

From what I recall about Ricky Reina, he would have failed walking up the steps to a medical, let alone the medical itself.

That's what happens. Have a look at every premier league player and count how many play 90 minutes every single game of their career

Getting injured is part and parcel of life when you are a highly-tuned athlete expected to perform at the top of your abilities every time. This isn't some cloggers running around a League Two pitch and pumping balls into channels anymore.

The Pope is a Cathlic. Bear sh*t in the woods. Athletes get injured.
You do know it's OK to be disappointed when something bad, yet inevitable, happens, right?

Hysteria isn’t mild disappointment that a player that has played 90 mins for us is out for a few games whilst Bryan and Kevin and Wissa bang then in as they have been doing all season

Can you imagine how pissed off Thomas must have been last night? Big game, someone who loves challenging himself against top opposition and seems to enjoy every minute of it..Hard to concentrate and not keep coming back to frustration and possibly anger. Get well soon big fella and hope it's not too long before you're enjoying a post match bottle of red again TF.

I'm not sure you could describe any of my posts on this thread (or this site in general) as hysterical.

He certainly would have done after Barnet away in promotion season

What next?
Dengue fever?
I’ve never even heard of an infected joint before!
My neighbour had a hip replacement, months afterwards she picked up an infection somehow in the new joint. She spent six very uncomfortable weeks in traction with the joint separated to allow the infection to be treated before the joint could be repaired. It was serious and incredibly painful. I really hope that IT has better luck, so tough on the big guy

Real shame for him and us and it was clear he would add value, but equally we’ve been hauling goals without him so shouldn’t get too worked up… get him right and unleash him!

Could do without the wider injuries though.. Jensen, Ethan, VDB, Thiago. Unfortunately adding up going into a busy period. We have more depth than before though so we’ll back the boys!!

Out of interest how old and fit was your neighbour, as it does matter.

This sounds the most credible diagnosis so far.

We've already heard that Igor went for an emergency operation after training on Tuesday. It makes complete sense that he had a hip replacement after hitting 70 years old.

Of a certain age but as a lifetime horse rider incredibly strong, physically and importantly mentally too

But older and more prone to infections and recovery from.

I was responding to a general comment about joint infection as you could see. Anyone can get them and they ain't a laughing matter

Feck me, just got home from Panto at the Wycombe Swan and stepped into another panto with this thread.

Some of the comments and bedwetting are embarrassing.

The only two friends I;ve had who have had hip replacements have been

1) a very active horse rider with her own horse

2) a very active pedal bike rider who now has an ebike.
I know a chap who had a hip replacement and he was a cleaner, now uses a squeegee instead of a mop.
