A great game today.

James Tarkowski -

Great job, although I wish he'd not head the ball vertically at times!

James Tarkowski -

................cool and calm...............

James Tarkowski -

Not many centre backs will ever claim to have Callum Wilson in their pocket. Tarks certainly did today

James Tarkowski -

Now, stick with him and let's have none of that dropping nonsense in future. Tarks and AN other for me (as it always has been).

Best game I have seen from Tarks, his tackling, range of passing and positioning was excellent.

I said years back when we sold Herman we would never have a centre back as classy as him - well step forward Tarky. His first few games back he was rusty after literally three months out not playing but today he showed exactly why everyone I know rates him so highly. This lad is class and how fortunate are we to have him. I have said this many times the January window last year was the best ever. Worth at least 10m IMO.

Tarky playing himself back into form is like signing a Premier League player for the last 14 games. What a class act... and he's only 22!

James Tarkowski -

An imperious performance, no more needs to be said

James Tarkowski -

I was worried about him a few games back. looked out of condition and not the player he was. He's back and better than ever. Now we just need to find his partner.

James Tarkowski -

Our best centre back by a mile no time for bull sh*t trying to pretend Craig or Dean are at his level

James Tarkowski -

I reckon his was the best defensive performance of the season yesterday. Was excellent.

James Tarkowski -

Excellent and his distribution from the back is key for our style. His physical presence is a massive bonus for us too. There was one incident in our box in the second half when we were under the cosh where he was out manned by two muffers on a cross from the right. Although he didn't 't get it he was able to ensure that his challenge was strong enough to knock both of them off balance. He ticks the box of 'strong basta@d' which is number one in the beebopalula list of CB requirements.:) cos if you ain't strong you are prey.

:imwith: We wouldn't have lost vs Watford had he been fit to play the whole game.

If we can only find the right partner for him we would stop shipping the kind of stupid bloody goal that we gave away yesterday.

In fairness it was Toums mistake rather than the centre backs that caused their goal?

I don't think it was a mistake from Toums as such. He stretched to intercept it but didn't fully get it and it bounced towards Craig and their striker. Craig then got beaten to the ball by their striker. He was at fault if anyone. I would play Dean over Craig every day of the week and the Tarks + Dean partnership was getting better and better until Tarks got crocked.

Guess we all see it differently is my polite response to your suggestion that Toums didn't put his defence under pressure with his mis kick in the wrong direction.

Toums has been a rock this year but he 100% took the ball away from any possible clearance straight into the path of the striker.

I've rewatched it now on the highlights (having only seen it at full speed in the flesh) and fair enough I'll agree with you chaps Toums' did fluff it. So I take that first bit back. Still think TC didn't cover himself in glory though and would prefer to see Harlee and JT as my first choice pair.

Craig should have communicated better and got Toums to leave it. Craig then needed to clear it up field. imo.

James Tarkowski -

Yes, either a communication error by Craig or over-enthusiasm from Diagouraga; whichever, an error.

I think with how well he has performed this season, it was a rare error from him and we went on to win anyway, we will let him off that one!!!

Nope , Toums error , TC just couldn't reach after he sailed over his head

sorry just seen your later post :sneakoff:

It was a Toums howler IMO, TC had 2 blokes running at him with a ball over the top coming down, his mates weren't helping him much, I would always play Dean over TC and hoped that Dean had progression in him but have to admit that neither of really good enough for where MB wants to go, Tarks has a chance and that performance was class but Dean or TC are not going to either be around or play much next year.

Quite agree, but unfortunately for Harlee, the Tarks / Craig pairing performed more than admirably enough on Saturday to be retained for tomorrow IMO.
