Thought Warbs had said that Tarky wouldn't take another one, after his miss against Leeds, or was that someone on here?

No, he said the opposite. He said Tarks is the best pen gtaker in the club and in trainin g scores every time in practice. He said he would remain pen taker. Obviously Pritch took that mantle off him.

To be fair todays pen wasn't too bad, it was right in the corner, but why not just hit it. Dicks, La Tiss, Shearer and Graham Alexander never missed pens and they all used to hit the darn thing.

I was behind the goal where the keeper saved it.. it wasn't anywhere near enough the corner as you say, the keeper made a comfortable save..

James Tarkowski -

Terrible pen....keeper virtually walked over and picked it up...Judge should've taken it.....don't give a **** though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The same as Andre is the best finisher.

who would a thought a missed pen today didn't matter :) what a day

James Tarkowski -

didn't Tarky also hit the bar with a shot from about 18 yards out?

I don't want to rub salt in his wounds but - and I'm happy to be proved wrong about this - has any other Brentford player in living memory taken more than one penalty ... and missed them both?

I don't think so.

James Tarkowski -

Steve Phillips missed his last four (scored from one rebound) but he scored eight of his first ten, so nobody else springs to mind.

James Tarkowski -

I'm talking about a player who has taken more than one penalty and NEVER scored.

....thats probably for the best big lad....just stick to what you're good at...lovely cushioned headers and last ditch goal saving tackles:sorted:

James Tarkowski -

He was mainly brilliant. Couple of howlers in first half. Somehow when he makes mistakes they dont score, when Dean does its a goal

They do score. It cost us two points a couple of weeks ago.

James Tarkowski -

I'd have given it to Macca - one stare and the keeper wouldn't have dared to save it. lol

or ended up in the corner of the net with the ball

James Tarkowski -

So that's Jota,Button,Moses,Tarkowski,Grey,Dallas all being chased by other clubs , what a good team we have. Marinus must be pinching himself hardly believing the riches he has. Fulham can and will p... off

James Tarkowski -

I hope we tell them to F*CK off ! I expect a couple to leave but we cannot afford to sell off too many of our better players no matter what the new managment team bring in. I would let gray go for £4 million if that was is being quoted but keep the rest of the team from last season plus a few new signings otherwise we might struggle.

James Tarkowski -

If he goes there, I.....

I don't even want to talk about it... :mad2:

James Tarkowski -

He will not be sold for £1.75m... He is a future international IMO.

I would tell you to **** off if you thought gray is worth so little myself..:sorted: Brentford value him a lot higher..;)

James Tarkowski -

I suspect our valuation of Tarks is significantly higher than this most recent piece of rubbish journalism suggests

James Tarkowski -

Even if a lot of the transfer speculation is merely 'lazy' journalism it does indicate what a strong team we have. Only a few years ago this would have never happened. We were shopping in the bargain basement and rarely sold more than one player a season for any significant amount. Now while we still manage to find players from the bargain basement we shop in the more exclusive home and foreign stores, adding significant value to them. We then have clubs pursuing us offering large amounts for our players. If we can continue this with the new management regime, or even improve while we will lose even more players we will be able to acquire even better ones. As we realised when Foreshaw went last season as it turned out we strengthen the team with the money we got for him, which in part propelled us to the playoffs. I am optimistic that our new set up will be able to continue this strategy.

I think it is better to discuss those players that other clubs are NOT potentially interested in! We need to get used to having all our team attracting attention from other clubs, else we are not where we want to be.

Spot on

James Tarkowski -

Any club could try a cheeky bid on any of our players in the vain hope we may accept.I guess it goes on all over the football world.Weve put an offer in on Ronaldo for £1.25m ,just waiting to hear..............

James Tarkowski -

I actually think of the entire squad, Tarks is along with Button the player with the potential to play at the highest level and I would be very surprised/ relieved if he isn't the subject of a serious bid this summer (what is being crayoned in the Sun is clearly not serious).

James Tarkowski -

So they paid 11m for Ross McCormack - and they want Gray and Tarky for less than half!! Someone at Craven Cottage has definitely had one tinnie too many!!

And apparently are about to sell some wonder kid to Man City for £8-10 million

James Tarkowski -

I'm struggling to think of any first team regular who wouldn't be an attractive buy for another club so am relaxed about paper talk of bids. This is not the W£bb era so I'm confident that whoever goes will be replaced by someone of quality, even if we haven't heard of them.

Had an interesting chat yesterday with a Southampton fan colleague. The mass exodus last season is well documented, as was the fact that the one player they fought very hard to hang on to was Schneiderlin. He's now expected to go but they have a couple of other players challenging strongly to fill his spot and he wasn't panicking. Ditto Alder-Weireld (sp?). These sorts of system can work.

I didn't see anyone in white worth even half that in either game this season...City however are desperate for homegrown players though, we could probably sell them Moses for £20m towards the back end of the window if they don't get their other targets

Yes I agree. Its also a sign that teams still think 'it's only Brentford, offer a few quid and they will roll over'. Soon they will get the idea that we are not a selling club any more, just one that will always listen to offers that meet our valuations AND meet our ambitions #lovingit
