Those ****ers are going to get an extra hard dry slap for being so cheeky.

James Tarkowski -

So that's Jota,Button,Moses,Tarkowski,Grey,Dallas all being chased by other clubs , what a good team we have. Marinus must be pinching himself hardly believing the riches he has. Fulham can and will p... off

Add Toums to that list as there was a story that Fulscum were after him as well.

If as suggested we have a very ambitious owner who wants to see us in the premier league why would he be interested is selling all our best players ?..........maybe we can get vast transfer fees but what's the point. Maybe our statistical approach to signing players will work or not but players like Tarky and Moses would be difficult to replace. I don't think MB as any intention of letting go our talented players to the likes of Fulham and QPR, however if Man City or Arsenal come knocking on the door that's different.

James Tarkowski -

Would be pretty tough on the new gaffa if players do leave. The squad became hardened to championship football last season. We don't want to be replacing key individuals. Keep and add. Of course the deadwood can go.

You're right of course but who are the deadwood ?

That comment, also allegedly made by our DoF, sends the wrong message. Little Old Brentford personified.

Not in my book just a reality. Did Spurs really want Bale to go or United want to lose Ronaldo? Sometimes the economics are compelling. What should he have said ' players are not for sale at any price' which sounds daft. The expectation will be little old Brentford no matter what we say. Look at Southampton supposedly brought to their knees by departures last close season then kicked arse all year.

I also don't think MB will want to let our talented players move on, but a football club is a football club, no matter what division they play in, so it won't make a blind bit of difference what club any player goes to, as long as we get no less than the price we want.

Why say anything?

James Tarkowski -

Up the asking price.

Oldham have a sell on clause.

If I'm James Tarkowski and I'm 22 and one of the most highly rated centre backs outside of the Premiership, why would I think about going to Fulham? Is Kit Symons suddenly going to get his act together and reverse the decline so spectacularly that they're nailed on for promotion next season? There may be one or two Championship clubs who might grab my interest but one of them isn't Fulham.

Wouldn't worry I doubt he's going anywhere for now...unless they offer at least double!

It'll need to be a damn sight more than that. I think he's rated, and consequently valued, as high if not higher than any player at the club.

May get shot down here. But, if we are looking to push Moses up the pitch, does anyone else think he could do a job at RB?? Lack of pace but very composed on the ball.

no..

Think Moses is potentially the best right back in the league, he is an ok winger, why would we push him up the pitch?

Moses is not a natural RB, way of being the best RB in the league. Positional sense is not great, gets caught under the ball and his pace gets him out of bother. He is far more effective in his natural position further forward, brilliant first touch, completely two footed. As the season wore on he struggled to get past players and his final ball was poor but that is because he forays up pitch became less frequent. He will do a decent job at RB but he clearly does not have natural instincts for that position.

Definitely keep Tarkowski at centre back. Agree on pushing Moses up the pitch though.

Something has got to give at some point in the near future. We are overstaffed at CB. We have three times as many CBs as strikers and we aren't a defensive team! I will be glad and relieved to have some options up front soon. Getting back to Tarky when the music stops in this game of CB musical chairs I really hope it isn't James Tarkowski who is the one left standing. He did well enough playing on the left side last season but it did reduce his effectiveness playing out from the back. On his day he is a class defender with bags of potential to improve and play at the top. Too good for Fulham.

James Tarkowski -

The full back is in effect the winger too in modern football.Moses was sensational last year and I'll just accept him getting caught out of position now and then as he works out how to balance the two responsibilities without totally knackering himself in games. If he needs any lessons couldn't do better than studying Englands best right back at the moment...Lucy Bronze.Oh and I hope James stays and keeps improving this year.

James Tarkowski -

We are overstaffed at CB.
As it stands, we have two right sided centre backs, Dean and Tarkowski, and three left-sided centre backs, Barbet, Craig, O'Connell (I'm excluding O'Shaughnessy and Calvet as they're still Development Squad, really). So, we're only overstaffed at left CB... but then we're understaffed at both left and right back. On the assumption that Craig moves on, then we're on target at centre back.

James Tarkowski -

I'd be more disappointed to lose Tarkowski than some others it has been suggested we may lose.

James Tarkowski -

Too good that rubbish who we tore to pieces last season methinks.
If he's that good then he would improve us and make us better then! But my question was just how good is he? I heard an £8m figure being mentioned - is he really £8m good?

I'd improve your shower of sh*t and I haven't played football for 5 years!!

Valuation is often subjective. At present I would value him for between 4-5 million in current market, but understandably some value him higher because a) we don't need to sell b) he's proven to be good at this level c) we would be selling to a Championship rival d) he has 2 years on his contract e) he's only 22 f) Tyrone Mings went for 8 mil with fewer appearances (same age)

Thank you red and white - a sensible answer! Can see you don't need to sell, and we need to buy defenders hence the inflated asking price I guess.

James Tarkowski -

Not good enough for what?!

Yes he's good. Fulham are not good. Yes he would make Fulham better. However, no matter how vigorously you polish a turd, ultimately it will not shine. Hence, he will not make Fulham good enough.
