James Tarkowski -
To be honest, we leak goals for fun with Tarks in the side, so no change really. It's all about getting the midfield right to give the defence a chance.

Not sure I get where your going on that one, seem to remember Gray was £600k ish?
I believe Vibe and Hofman were considerably more as would Djuricin if we were to sign him, also we have to pay 3 salaries against 1.
Finding players that have potential Selling them and not realising it will only make our competitors stronger if the premier league is the goal.... At some point MB will have to back a squad and keep it together to achieve the goal.... That is not a dig at MB just an observation.
Vibe and Hoffman were always going to be here. Djurucin was the Gray replacement. Not sure I get where your going on that one, seem to remember Gray was £600k ish?

We made 9.5m profit on gray (or whatever it was). We used about 1.5m of that money to produce more goals this season. Surely that is about as succesful example of the model that you will ever see. We still have 8.5m left to cater for ffp, keep us in the black and bring in players like woods, Josh and several of the others.
I can't understand why you are struggling with the concept so much.
Where did you see this release clause mentioned? First I've heard of it!
Probably best he leaves, it's starting to become apparent that this has been coming for a while, whilst loyalty is totally vacant in the current game it's frustrating that the warbs hangover has lasted this long, yearly contracts must be the way forward as the current system is so stacked towards the player
What's got into you recently? You've become one of the most negative people on here recently.
O'Connell and Dean scares me. A replacement needed ASAP I think its only a matter of time before Tarks goes
Icrazy it's looking more likely we going to lose the spine of the team.
Tarky to burnley 6million
Judge to whoever offers over 8 million
Toums to Rangers 1 million
Dean rumoured unhappy and not signing new contract (if my memory is right)
Jota to celta Vigo or Eibar Loan rest season ( due to his family life ).
All not completed or 100% certain but is there anyone else starting to wonder where that's going to leave us if we do sell all the following, or this a part of mb and Brentford plan to take us to the next level, not sure what to think
Players and their agents can circumvent contracts - the way that a good accountant can save you tax money- Clubs need better legal people which include T&C's that are onerous if they leave before the contract terminates whatever the circumstances( Is the Jota situation a lot of bull. If he wants to get out of his contract and return to Spain, he should pay it up out of his savings or offer a large percentage of the money that we will lose- these guys are rich- who knows?) unless the Release Clause is met. These should be reviewed by the DOF's et al on an annual basis so the club can't lose. Football is not well managed as we all know.
I think we have lots of potential replacements lined up if they all go![]()
The policy is if you don't want to play for Brentford anymore we move you on for an acceptable price to us pretty quickly, see Forshaw, Moses Dallas and eventually Andre.
I'd been happy enough with 3 million a few add ons and Long for Tarky, so holding out for 4 million and a few add one, say 500k if they get promoted as they will have the cash and a interested percentage in his sell on will fit the bill. Burnley know how we work already as we have a quarter interest on the profit on Andre when he moves on allegedly.
Interested in the next cab on the rank, Barbet and Jack O'C get first crack but Phil Giles spread sheet file on left sided central defenders will be refreshed hourly you feel in the next week.
They 'scare' me most in terms of how comfortable they are on the ball ie they are not nearly as comfortable as Tarky. It's going to be 'fun' watching us trying to play out from the back with them as our CB pairing!
I'd look forward to watching us play any team with Tarky in it,he has his good points but he's an accident waiting to happen.
If he goes then i'd be happy to see JoC or Barbet given a chance for the rest of the season, that's why we bought them in the first place and ultimately Bjelland is the choice CB on the left side once he's fit again.
We should now be looking for 2 right sided CB's to replace Tarky now and Dean if he's going at the end of the season.
Hoff or Vibe isolated up top without Judge in the side and Tarks will have a field day if he comes up against us. Sorry

It's this, I assume:Is this a Twotter account? Sounds like it.
Must have missed that, however it does beggar the question if there is a release clause at the figure you suggest then why did we tell Fulham no move under £5m
Perhaps it's not in his contract but was just a discussion topic, if it was then I am pretty sure it would have come to light in the current negotiations
Only reason I can think of for reducing the price is to get the deal done quickly as we may have targets of our own to bring in ?
You cannot be serious!

Crikey, sounds like West Brom, Sheffield Wednesday, Derby and Norwich are all now interested now the price has supposedly been reduced to £4m.

It scares me a lot of the time when we try to play out from the back even with Tarky and let's not forget how we conceded the goal against Boro at home last season. O'Connell and Barbet both have potential in IMHO they just need a run in the side.
I think slowly but surely the monies we have/will receive will make us financially stronger and able to pay better wages. For example this season I believe we have increased our playing budget by 25% compared to last year. The sales of Gray and Moses in particular will have helped with this and still ensure we meet the FFP rules.
I imagine as FFP is relaxed, the large transfer fees being received, plus the additional income when we move to the new ground, we will get to a position where we become the hunter, unless a very large club come in for our players.
I reckon we have 2/3 years before we get to that position though.
It we stop playing it out from the back the football we have played for most of the last two years is finished. While Tarks has sometimes made mistakes doing this (which is inevitable), for the money we look likely to get for him, we will find it incredibly difficult to find some capable of doing it as well who is also capable of mixing it with big championship lumps. Barbet is promising as a ball-playing CB, but a wet night away against Northern Bastards United .... mmmm!
Best case scenario we lose our most talented defender...
...That's how I see it anyway now the initial mild panic has worn off.
Laurent Koscielny is smaller than Barbet and just as French and he does alright. I say give the guy a run alongside Tarks, if he's as good as we hope then it makes life easier for us as we'll already have someone who can replace him as a ball playing CB. That will leave us free to find a right sided CB who's really good at the ugly stuff, but who we wouldn't need to be a super technician (although a decent touch is a necessity for all players in our system to a point).
Best case scenario we lose our most talented defender but end up with a properly effective, balanced partnership which I think most agree we don't have at the moment. If that happens and we get a good defensive midfielder we could still end up improving our defence and making a profit by the end of the window.
That's how I see it anyway now the initial mild panic has worn off.
I've a feeling that Barbet is yet another Brentford urban hero who gets better and better the less he actually plays. We have 3 left-sided centre backs, the one we can presume to have been first choice is injured and successive coaches have preferred a right-side centre back to the two alternatives, and O'Connell has been preferred to Barbet. That tells us a lot.
It is my opinion that our centre backs and holding midfielders are the number one issue to address if we are to progress (with apologies to magicbees) and that a complete overhaul is the only long-term solution.
£6.5 for Gray so far, take off sell on for Luton there is not as much as you think left, plus Vibe and Hoff were more like £2million, anyway as you rate KK I can't take it too seriously,
and for your info I do understand the concept I just feel it has not been as successful with the summer signings and Woods aside doubt that we will see a profit on the current crop,
except perhaps Colin,Djuricin not included as he is not yet permanent.

It is my guess - and only a guess - that Bjelland was brought in more for an experienced head. The others were probably more for development. None of our centre backs and holding midfielders are blessed with any pace, anyway, so that is something to be addressed. I expect the injury and Dean, Toumani and Tarkowski situation will trigger a complete overhaul by next August.
To be a good defender you don't have to have pace...just looking at the PL there's kompany, Huth , mertersacker , Terry, Collins , Dann ....these are just some of the players regularly playing for teams who are in the top 7 ( and Chelsea)

I'm not saying that. But one of the 'central four' has to have pace; at the moment, no one has. Even wide Bidwell is not a sprinter but Colin does seem to get about well.To be a good defender you don't have to have pace...just looking at the PL there's kompany, Huth , mertersacker , Terry, Collins , Dann ....these are just some of the players regularly playing for teams who are in the top 7 ( and Chelsea)
