Jonathan Douglas

The clapping Bees fans clearly remember the service he gave to this club rather than being influenced by the nonsense on here. Shameful, but I won't let it spoil my day. Suckers

Are you Natalie, Royal Oak Bee, a troll, or just a complete embarrassment ?

Jonathan Douglas

Let's be clear, for two seasons he was Brentford FC's most important and effective player. That is Jonathan Douglas. I know there are all sorts of racists on this site, including anti non Unionist Irish, but Douglas was our leading player for two seasons, including our last promotion season.

Talking out of your arse sunshine. Do you want to question my Irish heritage?

important and effective at what exactly? Causing ructions?

The great service included blocking on twitter the person that paid him handsomely - in fact the highest paid player.....what a great person/unifier/captain. NOT.

Jonathan Douglas

How about persuading lots of "idiots" to applaud him when he appears for another team. Says it all really. And we know how poppy mongers treat their veterans. With contempt.

Sorry. I go by what I saw on the pitch. Twitter? I rely on on the likes of you and my girlfriend to keep me informed. So there has been a fall out with the owner? Take your word for it. No surprise. social media has a sewer like quality. People fall out. I can spot a campaign a mile off.

Did you not see the two play off games vs Boro when he went missing? I don't get the bit about spotting a campaign but genuinely hope your girlfriend is more attractive and informative than Nana who is an acquired taste.

Jonathan Douglas

I can accept that and I also think that professional footballers are , relative to most people, overpaid, but on performance, Matthew had JD's value to the team, about right. I thought he was just slowing up a bit. I noticed his return from injury coincided with a return to the top six, even though he looked out of it against boro. If you are saying he became "anti BFC", just because he expressed off message views, I can't contradict you. This going on about him on at least two threads his not at all edifying.

I did. OK. He might have made the difference.

Leaving aside the rest of your post, on which I won't comment, this is ridiculous. Beginning 'Let's be clear' as if your simply stating an obvious fact doesn't make it any less silly.

Don't confuse coincidence and causality.

"off message views" - this isn't a political party FFS. And you beautifying him is not at all edifying....in fact it's disgraceful.

You've lost me, he signed a new contract recommended he should be offered by Warburton and subsequently overtly took on and attempted to belittle the same man who got him the deal against the wishes of the board. He had previous with both Leeds and Swindon for being both shirty and disruptive when not the star turn.
What were you trying to say ?

Jonathan Douglas

Anyway, thank goodness that'll be the last we'll see of him at Griffin Park. His days at this level are numbered, and he looked far from being fit.

Jonathan Douglas

Anyway, we have a team of gritty players now and a lot younger too, with more potential. I have to conclude that Matthew is the driver of that, by deduction, rather than inside knowledge.

Jonathan Douglas

Sorry if I got anybody out of bed. I'm finishing off my last beer. I feel I. invincible. 2. 0roflrofl

Jonathan Douglas

Just noticed that, looking for the Forest thread. Do you think I would be on here if I had a boyfriend to snuggle up to? I'm still trying to work out why MB would pay an old bloke more money than anyone else for a couple of years. Is this circumstantial evidence of something going on between them? Another Jamie Bates style episode. Or could it be something as mundane as, for instance, he was our most important player? An Ulsterman will start an argument with his own shadow, when the mood takes him. The women are worse, as is well known.

Jonathan Douglas

While I acknowledge he gave us good service on the pitch there does seem to be something unsavoury about him But he does appears to get quite a few tweets from our players past and present.

He is very good mates with more than a few current first team players and was on the same personal training programme with at least two of them over the summer.

Jonathan Douglas

Was not impressed when people applauded, had a word with someone who should know better ( a disappointment to his Dad!!!!)

Not sure whether he intentionally tried to kick anyone, kind of doubt it, just reckon he has got slower and really doesn't add a lot to his team.

Done well to get another years contract and certainly would no longer get in our team, which says a lot about McCarthy and Ipswich !!

Jonathan Douglas

Don't get the surprise of some on here. The gpg probably represents about 10 per cent of Brentford supporters. The remaining 90 per cent wouldn't have a clue about what's been said about Douglas on here so unsurprising they applauded.

How many home supporters in yesterday? 8,400? Then take off the comps. I reckon it's around 25% of BFC supporters on the GPG actively. With a very hard-core of about 1,500 visiting every day.

Still leaves 6,000 to applaud though

I am glad that a large majority of those 6000 chose not to clap.

No booing or applause from me.

Don't they talk to fellow fans ?

It's not all about the GPG.

Most of what I find out is through talking to Bees fans, of course reliable, while socialising at games

This has nothing to do with anything to do with Brentford or Jonathan Douglas. Who for the record I have no opinion on either way as I missed both Ipswich games at GP since he moved there.

If you geuninley believe this nonsense I suggest you check out the threads on McCormack, Judge and Egan! However I'm guessing you choose to ignore that. It's much more likely that like many other players who leave us he becomes unpopular. However on this occasion I know what he did around the Easter period when he really funked up the dressing room. BTW we won the game at Fulham 4 1 without him if your going to go on about his impact.

Then on the bench against Forest due to the fall out with Warburton?
I think that, by that time, Douglas had fallen out with his own shadow. Anyone that thinks he was not already on his way out before the end of that season is deluded.

Jonathan Douglas

I think he is a **** but didn't boo or clap the ****.

Nasty, keyboard warrior, bully bloke from up north.

Be nice to people and people will be nice back. :owusu:

Jonathan Douglas

Thought JD was great when he played for us.

Players fall out with management and leave clubs, we all know that.

Deliberately injure an ex-team mate in the manner he did, unforgivable.

Deserved more abuse than he got.

I'm sort-of guessing that **** is not "hero" but one of the more Anglo-Saxon four-letter words.

His disruptive influence in the dressing room was already being discussed prior to Warbgate and subsequent revelations and actions have hardly covered him in glory, so it is difficult to understand why anyone should feel positive towards him just because of his role a couple of seasons before that.

Because, as has previously been said, a lot of our supporters do not frequent the GPG.

A lot of information can only be found on here by seemingly ITK posters. I for one get most if not all of my information re the club on here (other than the official website). I am sure a lot of our fans go to games to watch the match and have a few drinks, then in the week don't tend to commit much time or think too much about the club, let alone read through pages and pages of forums for all the little details about past and present players.

I neither boo'd nor applauded, but I don't think it is that extraordinary nor should there be so much surprise on here that some of our fans chose to applaud, as their impression of Douglas would probably be quite a high one.

Yes he may have injured one of our top players, but again, to most fans off the GPG they will see the injury as part and parcel of football - the GPG is the only place where I've seen or heard the allegations that it was a 'deliberate attempt' at injuring Jota.

It's gone beyond allegations on here though. Yes, it may very well be true, but in many cases it has been presented outright as a (potentially libellous) fact.

It can't be a libelous fact can it? Defamatory maybe.

Eh?

One minute you're claiming JD got stick because of prejudice against Irish players who aren't Unionist, the next you're making sweeping generalisations like the above?

I was fairly agnostic over the cheer him/boo him question before I read your posts, but now my mind is made up.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! :redcard:
