It is I'm afraid. What I find annoying Geoff is that you are always quick to attack Brentford fans first.
No one is going to take notice of what I say, especially when AS and Greg have said it already. You make it sound as if I want a ruck tomorrow, when nothing could be further from the truth. BU are not here to make statements about supporters behaviour, BIAS and the club are.
Let's talk about this in the press room tomorrow.

It is completely untrue for you to say that I am quick to attack Brentford fans first.Bloody hell, myself and my dad, and his dad before him ,have supported this club through thick and thin, and have made many lifelong friendships at Griffin Park, along the way. I am proud to be a supporter and admire so many fans who do so much for our club.I only 'attack' destructive actions that are far from supportive of this club that so many of us love.
If you think goading Luton fans is going to help BFC, or our team, one single jot, then you are very much mistaken.It is also likely to make the job of our stewards and the police that much more difficult.Hardly likely to cut our costs for subsequent matches, is it?
And for a BU board director to call Luton 'cheats' and 'cretins', on a message board the day before the game is irresponsible in the extreme( and certainly does not discourage a 'ruck'!)
Some of us do think that BU, as a 'Community trust' (who have had good support from the local community) should set a good example of community relations. With power, comes responsibility, and the need for sensible leadership.I see that coming from Andy Scott, and Greg Dyke, and even dear old BIAS.I would love to see it coming from BU as well.Previous supporters leaders such as the late Peter Pond-Jones would not have 'sat on their hands' at a time like this.He would have been urging Brentford fans to focus all their efforts on supporting our team tomorrow, and to doing all they can to help our club survive and prosper.That is what I am asking for, Mark!
And, yes, you can discuss it with me in the Press Room tomorrow.But none of that kissing nonsense...

Everybody ?! Not from where I stand. Luton Town Football Club deserved all they got. They appealed against it and failed. Their Football Club acted improperly and deserved the punishment they got. It's about time their fans and everyone else got over it and looked to the future.
Tomorrow is our day and its a great shame we have to stump up extra money we can ill afford on extra police, to look after any trouble that may ensue.

Regarding Luton 'cheating' by overspending in the 2005 season, an interesting item from When Saturday Comes:
cheating our way to promotion in 2004/05:
"Some fans believe the trust took over without the clearest of plans for the future, having concentrated all its energies on the takeover itself. I think you may well find that Noades' debt has been clear and the key words there are "dealing with the debts" ie managing to service amounts due on them and working to reduce them ASAP

Crumpsall, I think the point(s) being made above are that we haven't (a) gone into administration/bankruptcy etc. (b) defaulted on any debt (c) not paid financial obligations in full. I may be wrong. The fact that we as a club are struggling financially is because we were lumbered with huge debts (by prior owners/administrators) which we haven't tried to evade. That's why all Bees supporters have such respect for the new management team living within our means and "under-promising and over-delivering".

As it happens, I'm a big admirer of what Bees United are doing, though judging by what I've read on this thread some of its leading lights could do with taking a long, hard look at their attitude towards another club which is now trying to do things the right way. Doesn't exactly work wonders for your image.
Hopefully despite the spiralling debts you will avoid administration. Anyone who bothered looking at the facts behind 2020 will know that they tried to do the same: they offered to pay off all the debts, the 'Noades like' Pinkney refused and put us into admin as an attempt to write off said debts and get the club back cheaply, to fulfil a money-making warehouse scheme at j12.
HOWEVER...this is nothing to do with congratulating you on promotion which is what I originally came on here to do.

I was referring to those on here who have suggested such things.You know full well what I meant, and you certainly seem to support that type of behaviour( though if you do not, then please state so on here.It would be a touch of statesmanship) Your views on here certainly do nothing to suggest that you are against 'goading' and public pi** taking of Luton fans, and to refer to them on here as 'cheating' and 'cretins' is hardly going to help the atmosphere at Griffin Park tomorrow.
Our different views on BU's role have been discussed before, but I feel it is a shame that we even have to ask for BU to make a helpful comment.As someone else has said, the attitude of some BU folk on here is poor PR, especially at a time when you are hoping to get backing from the Council and local residents.
Re BeeH, I acknowledge that David has done so much great work that, I guess ,he can be forgiven one little slip! Anyway, it will be interesting to see how he gets on with their directors in the board room
And, yes, I was quite handy in the 1960's.I was pretty useful in the 1950's and 1940's as well...

Double standards is claiming to represent a "community football trust,"which is part of a family of Supporters Trusts, and which claims to "operate for the benefit of the community "and then calling other football fans( one of whom offered his congratulations to us) cheats and cretins, on the eve of a potentially volatile game that could have unfortunate consequences for our community.
Sorry, Mark, but myself and many others do not see 'hate campaigns' as the way forward for our club...

That does not, of course, make me any better than you nor any other fan.But it may explain why I do not wish to see our club risk its reputation by persons of influence making irresponsible and arrogant statements , and waging 'hate campaigns' at a time like this.
