Looks like Chelsea are getting rid if Conte?

Managerial Changes Thread 2017 / 2018

No
I think they have learned

Cant afford to keep on sacking

True, but if it's player unrest behind their present* travails, can they afford to sack all of them instead?

Dontcha feel sorry for Roman? lol

* - I still wouldn't bet against Conti turning it round.

The Return of BFS?

I think he would be perfect for them. An expert in well organised anti-football firefighting is just what they need IMHO.
But can Sunderland afford BFS & does BFS see himself at a club fighting relegation to Div 1 ???

No chance. He wants Everton. Everton want Dyche. Sam will get Stoke?!

West Ham will be a tough job. No idea who’d want that one. Moyes is crap.

A few managers in the Championship under some pressure now. Fulham, Leeds, Hull, Boro’, Brum and the Wednesday man got an important win. Could be changes in December for the Jan window.

Bilic sacked by the hammers

Managerial Changes Thread 2017 / 2018

....he must feel ten times lighter this morning....will get another job easy.

Managerial Changes Thread 2017 / 2018

Bilic got more points per game than any other West Ham Premiership manager.

If Everton go for Moyes they need their bumps felt.

I think there are a number of managers in the Championship who could make the transition to PL managership.

Who was the last Championship manager to be poached by a PL team?

Would they want to work for Sullivan and Gold? Not sure I would.

Everton???? I think somebody slipped something into my tea today. Of course I meant WHU.

Has he really become a bad manager since joining Manchester United or has he just become unfashionable?

I think Moyes has had a raw deal and I agree he's become unfashionable, being an older, dour-faced Scot. Let's not forget, he was recommended for the Man U job by Ferguson, a bloke who should know a good manager when he sees one.

He did brilliantly with Preston, then Everton. He had a raw deal at Man U and not enough time. He inherited a squad from Ferguson that was already on the way down. He wasn't given anything like the money top 4 clubs get to fritter away on world class players there and his chief exec there kept ballsing up getting signings over the line. Not Moyes's fault. His only blip is with Sunderland last year.

I don't think he's the right fit for West Ham by the way, but if they give him some decent cash, he'll certainly keep them up, which is what they want. I actually think they'll want him to do it on a shoestring if he's an interim manager and save cash to give to a 'permanent' incumbent, so they can play 'The West Ham Way' (whatever that is).

They might not be pretty to watch, but he'll get the results they need to stay up if he's properly supported.

Yeah good post. Sir Alex knew when to go because the squad was rapidly ageing. As it was it was finished and wouldn't win anything more. Moyes inherited that without the backing or time to sort it. As for Sunderland - hopeless case. League 1 next year. I reckon Moyes will be OK for WHU.

You could well be right, but remember too that he also flopped at Real Sociedad.

And as they say in the spy world (apparently), once is an accident, twice is coincidence, but three times is enemy action (or in this case, incompetence?).

It might pay off, but WHU would undoubtedly be taking a chance with Moyes.

I saw a tweet that said that when Moyes went to Man Utd. it was on a contract until 2019, he is now on his 3rd job since leaving them with at least a year until the end of his originally planned contract.

I fancy a visit to the London Stadium next season :sorted:

Managerial Changes Thread 2017 / 2018

He's since been rubbish at man u sociedad and Sunderland. ....

Sunderland is a poison chalice and has been long before Moyes joined. Was he really that bad at Manchester United? He had pretty similar records to Van Gaal and Mourinho except they got more time and money to spend, and they didn’t have to step into Ferguson’s shoes.

I don’t know much about his time at Sociedad but he is more experienced than at any other point than in his mangerial career and yet his stock is probably at its lowest - that doesn’t quite stack up, which makes me think he has become a bit of a punch bag.

Moyes is old school, I don’t get it. Shocking appointment imo and can’t see any way how West Ham will stay up. Very disappointing tbh

Leicester have a very good manager. He did fantastically with Lyon, and Southampton aren't exactly doing better since he left.

Just cos he's as dull as ditchwater doesn't mean he's a bad manager.

You argue that at the moment Everton have no manager. If they give Unsworth the gig full time thats 2 of the 3 relegation spots filled in my opinion

Yes good manager, but if defensive minded tactically in the premier you have to counter fast don’t you? Puel’s teams don’t. Can’t see them going down though. For me I reckon West Ham and Palace. Moyes is a championship level manager. Cant see his Everton tactics that took him years to get right working in the prem now.

Managerial Changes Thread 2017 / 2018

Managers are often just right for one team in period of time where a variety of circumstances come together and they achieve success that can never be repeated elsewhere. It happens time after time. For Moyes it was him and Everton at that time. He strikes me as everything that West Ham do not want right now.

Don't forget he was very good at Preston prior to Everton.

They don't appear to think much of him.

Very good? What was his record?

No idea, but I have a recollection of him pushing for promotion to the top-flight and being very highly regarded within the game (hence his signing with Everton).

:imwith: I think he was unlucky at Soton and think as a club their fans have unrealistic expectations. They source very good unknown foreigners and develop superb youngsters through their academy and sell them and repeat, sound familiar?
