Managerial Changes Thread 2017 / 2018

Pulis sacked at WBA. Fair enough but would they get any better. Guess it just needs freshening up. Dean Smith of Brentford????

I might tend to agree with you if they were mid table but they aren't and there is an awful lot of firefighting required there which I don't think DS is the man for

Chinese owners. They will want to go for a 'name' of some sort and will go abroad for the new manager, IMO. Only other option is Allardyce.

The Baggies fans would see Allardyce as more of the same.
Chinese owners will want a ‘name.’

Quote from the Guardian:
"A lack of Premier League experience which Chinese owner Guochaun Lai and chairman John Williams have made a priority would appear to rule out both of the early frontrunners with the bookmakers, however, with Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill and Aberdeen’s Derek McInnes, who spent three seasons at the club as a player, not expected to be in the frame."

Tbf, concentrating on PL experience makes sense - so long as it's good experience, at any rate.

Would also rule out Dean Smith. :sorted:

Do you think someone at the club will explain to them who Gary Megson is. Just for fun, like.

Bizarrely a local poll showed most fans wanting Koeman. Most odd.

Managerial Changes Thread 2017 / 2018

Seems WBA are following the current trend of sacking their manager without any idea on a replacement. Great planning.

Multiple Choice, is it:

(A ) Their former manager who got them two promotions?
(B ) The bloke who puts the cones out?
(C ) The "Lord of the Manor of West Bromwich"?

Congratulations if you answered (A ).

And (B ).

And (C ).

Selling their soul a bit are Everton. Like West Ham they are no longer the artisans of football but ordinary pragmatists in style and philosophy.

Managerial Changes Thread 2017 / 2018

They are SO bad this season though that a shoring up of their defence is exactly what they need. They are in danger of being compared to the worst the Prem has seen, effortlessly being thrashed week in week out by teams that any other week aren't up to much. They have no pace, no striker (or at least one anywhere near the required level) overloaded with no.10's and an ageing defence.

Allardyce will probably keep them up, and he won't let the bad excuses continue. They have fallen far from their pre-season ambitions though.

Justin Edinburgh new Leyton Orient Manager.

£140m well spent in the summer then, doesn't say much about the whole club not just the manager.

Pretty sure Paul Clement will be next.
Seven league fixtures in the month of December. I reckon at some point during the month, the Swansea board will come to the conclusion that they are unlikely to avoid relegation unless a change is made.

Holloway on thin ice maybe ?

Used all their luck up on Monday.

Mackie sent off early on, and then conceded in the 88th minute.

He must stay.

Credit to Mick McCarthy at Ipswich. Had them down as relegation contenders pre-season, but he's got them up to 7th.

They love him at LR. I think Ra ras are too stupid to sack him.

The fans absolutely hate him, reading their forums there appears to be no one who wants him to stay there.

Baptiste got a red after the final whistle, don't you just love it.....lol

Agree, instead of your getting sacked in the morning we should be singing we want you stay, much more fun with him in charge.

Slutsky gone. Could have waited until we beat them on Saturday.

Not good news for us. They’ll probably put more effort in now next Saturday for the caretaker or new manager.

Nigel Adkins in the frame for new Hull boss although the source is GWL. He was harshly sacked at Southampton but his last two stints at Reading and Sheff Utd haven't been too clever. I doubt the players there are too arsed especially if they are still on Premiership salaries.

He made his name at Scunthorpe.

Out in the wilderness of Essex Phil Brown is staying tight lipped on being lined up by Hull!!

Atkins has the Hull gig

Hopefully it'll be too soon for him to make any major difference to their performance on Saturday, but I'd rather that he hadn't been appointed until next week.

Too soon to make much difference in tactics ,but a new appointment should be motivational if nothing else ,playing for the new manager etc

Indeed...It could definitely be a much tougher game with him having been appointed.

Derek MacInnes turns down Rangers. Rangers has a girly flounce.

After the two games against Aberdeen, we requested permission to engage with their manager to assess his readiness and willingness to consider the Rangers position. This was declined. We were subsequently made aware by Aberdeen’s statement that, at this stage in his career, it would be best for him to remain in his current post. We endorse that position because moving to a massive club like Rangers is a big step with concomitant risk. We continue to consider candidates but will only appoint someone in whom we have full confidence and who feels he is ready for the job.
