Shame on Birmingham for doing this. At least two of the clubs I despise more in the division, QPR and Wolves have recently appointed managers so he won't be going to either of those two. Actually that's rubbish, he might.

It's bound to be a 'name' for the Chinese owners to dump Rowett.

I obviously have, and all I see is a manager that goes on a losing run every season and costs us promotion. Which if I am not mistaken is the primary goal of MB's long term plan, is it not?

Feel sorry for the guy, cannot stand Birmingham but he has done a great job there on limited resources with lot's of off the pitch distractions such as the until recent owner being imprisoned in Hong Kong, he also comes across as a decent guy when interviewed, I hope he finds a decent opportunity.

As for Birmingham, well along with Wolves it looks like there new owners don't have a clue about how it works and seem to think it's just about throwing a few million at it and it should bring instant success, really hope they go for someone like Zola then come Feb / March time find themselves in or near the relegation zone

Just about sums up the ineptitude of some owners. Rowett was a decent manager getting the most out of a team with limited resources. Zola is a "name" but has consistently failed as a manager, his teams ended up being soft touches..... he will likely be gone by end of March and the owners will likely have to pay him off..... no wonder fans get frustrated.

I hate the way Brum play and would draw the curtains if they were playing on my back garden but Rowett did brilliantly with limited resources.

The key questions are with more money as looks certain to be the case, could he improve the style of football and attract better players?

We will never know.

Yes, just what we need. Replace our manager with another clubs manager who are only 6 points ahead of us (and given that we pissed all over them, should be level on points with us), have a much larger budget than us, finished below us last season with said budget, and play awful football. Now it doesn't matter how successful you've been to date, if someone thinks you might not continue to be successful in future, you get sacked anyway.

Meanwhile, as I always like to remind people in such situations, Sir Alex Ferguson was six full seasons at Man U before he won the League. And he had come to OT with a good CV, to inherit a squad which was still pretty decent, and with money to spend to add to it.

The alternative is that with a new manager, everyone will be sh*tting themselves about their place in the team, and so will find an extra 10% they didn't think they had. For a bit. Until they realise they can't keep it up. And are replaced regardless.

Still don't get it. Rowett did a great job and we all know how tough this division is. Not only that but he is Brummie through and through and probably understands that club better than anyone. The players clearly played for him as well. No offence to Zola, clearly a lovely bloke but that gets you nowhere in football. He won't have the same rapport with the players that Rowett had

He'll walk away with a nice big cheque in his back pocket and his stock is high.
My guess is he'll get a nice little number quite soon. My bet would be Forest

Managers get typecast. I.e. He's a Championship levelmanager, or he's a Red Adair like Martin Allen.

I doubt if Rowett will get a job at anything better than a mid level Championship team given what he did at Burton and Brum. He deserves better.
