Agree. Vastly overrated manager IMO.Doubtless he will land another lucrative job for some reason.Some even wanted him considered for the England job.

To be fair he couldn't have done much worse than recent England managers. Sadly, one of the few plusses on his CV was getting Reading promoted in 2002. Shagnasty chancer for all that.

I think he got a bum deal but the beautiful game has real problems if his crime is deemed bad enough that he's shaming his country but not bad enough to manage a Premier league side within 3 months?

I daresay the fans (maybe also Parrish?) have big hopes for their team, but I wouldn't be too sure about the American owners.

There are plenty like eg Ellis Short and the Glazers who see owning a Prem Lge Soccer club as a money-making venture, and so long as the team don't get relegated, they don't much care whether they finish 7th or 17th. In fact, if they can scrape 17th (or better) on minimal investment, it's better than spending big money on the team to finish 7th, since the difference in TV money isn't that big.

I reckon Fat Ashley at Newcastle thought exactly the same, but just cut it too fine, hence the "handbrake turn" in appointing Benitez, to get them back up asap. Randy Lerner at Villa is another, except that he is totally clueless at keeping the club ticking over.

If you want to talk about suitable characters, the FA and Football League should look at the sort of characters they allow to own the clubs. Allardyce's misdemeanours pale by comparison.
It has been suggested in some quarters that Reading are in danger of heading the same way as Portsmouth.

The FA has no control over EPL clubs whatever, and precious little over FL clubs, either (they'll just set up an EPL2 if the FA interferes too much.)

As for the dodgy characters owning clubs, it was ever thus, t5he only difference being that in the past they were English not foreign, and there were fewer noughts on the end of the sums being stolen from the game.

I think I can safely mention the likes of Ron Noades, Jack Dunnett, Bob Lord, Louis Edwards etc etc etc, since they're too busy trying to cool off down below to worry about the libel laws, people who owned clubs which attracted thousands of punters through the gates each week, yet only paid the players a maximum wage of £6 per week...

I was at today's game - Swansea were dire. Players were so tentative when receiving the ball, then were panicked into just getting rid of it wherever. WHU weren't even very good, but easily good enough.

Fans want Bradley out asap and the Owners to go with him.

Meanwhile, talk on the local radio phone-ins suggest Ryan Giggs may be in the running to replace him? Could be nonsense, mind.
