Ronnie Moore - new manager of Eastleigh FC

That's a bit of a gamble, last throw of the dice for Eastleigh? I bet he does well though and the odds are probably better now than before he took over. Nailed on for mid table? If you asked Ronnie, he might just give you the wink. :pop:

How much longer for Monk at Leeds? Defeat to Forest today...

Wonder whether a change might occur at Villa, natives very restless and after spending significant cash I am sure the owners are expecting a better return

They only have themselves to blame. Foreign owners go for a "name" manager.

First Championship managerial casualty?
Would think it would be between Owen Coyle and Paul Trollope, with Roberto Di Matteo closely behind those two.

My money is on Monk. No one survives Leeds, even pep guardiola would be gone after 12 games.

Mentioned locally that Cellino (sp.) wanted him out last week but agreed to give him two more games. As they won them both you would guess that he'd be safe for a while, but with the owner you can never be sure. Tee Hee

Didn't know that.
Then it's a four-way donkey race.

Guy called Chris Kelly wasn't it? IIRC correctly Leatherhead were FA Cup Giant killers in the 70's (Leicester City?)and most of it was down to his exploits

5 mins in - "The deftest of headers from Chris Kelly, so it wasn't all talk..."

In the First Round Proper, Leatherhead needed a replay to beat Bishops Stortford (Brentford won 4-1 at Slough Town). They then beat Colchester in Round Two (Brentford lost 1-0 at Brighton). In the 3rd Round they won 1-0 at Brighton and in the Fourth Round they were drawn at home to Leicester, then of the old 1st Division, but switched it to Filbert Street, where they went 2-0 up in front of 32,000, before eventually going down 3-2.

Wonderful article on the Cup run - and Kelly - in WSC:

Seems like a major disagreement with the owners. Only one winner there then.

I don't reckon the Cardiff manager is going to last much longer.
They're now in the relegation zone.

The general consensus among Villa fans is that they want RDM out - and Big Sam in.....

Big Sam will want big club.
I can't see any other likely openings at the moment.
Of course, the club he would be really suited to is Leeds United, but he's not going to go there as long as Cellino is the owner.

Just thought how Paul Tisale has lasted so long at Exeter. They are third from bottom in L2 and never seem to make progress. Isn't he the longest serving manager in the league after Wenger ? I know he's a character and we'll liked but they never seem to be going anywhere.

They've had a promotion and they've also been relegated. Aren't they still a supporter run club? Lack of money doesn't help but they rely a lot on their academy and PT isn't scarred to blood youngsters. That's their income.

Remember, Brentford had an interest in Ollie Watkins, an offer was made but turned down, Exeter don't need the money yet, but come January, who knows.

Exeter stick with who they know, better than dumping someone and going back into the conference.

No money what do you want him to do on a shoe string budget. Exeter fans probably little more realistic with their expectations than most

Managerial Thread 2016 / 2017

Some Exeter fans are part of the 'Tisdale out!' Brigade though. But the clubs expectations are very realistic though, they can only generate money through a cup run or player sales and they know that, but for supporters that's not very bright for the future. Hopefully their form will improve soon.

Tisdale has had a couple of interviews elsewhere (Portsmouth for one), but is happy where he is so wouldn't leave unless it felt right.

You've lost me there.
You think Villa are going to poach our manager?

Allardyce to Villa
and Cardiff to make a change too.
