He hasn't done anything wrong in his brief appearances, he got pulled out wide too often at Luton but thats down to others failing to track back.
Is he good enough to start?
I was very impressed with Johnson when he played - he looked very combative and I hope he gets his chance at cb.
I agree - players getting free headers (ie. yesterday) didn't happen too often when Brett Johnson was in the team.

The real test will be his first league 90minutes for us
We will only know when started and played in a full league fixture.
Morecambe?

Did he mean that shot at the weekend?

Nobody can answer that question, I would hope so but there is a guy called Johnson who is returning from injury.
Yes but Johnson is to unreliable and lets the ball bounce over his head way to much. With phillips we have a little more assurance and he is very consistant unlike bj.
I have to admit I have no idea how you arrive at the conclusion that Johnson is unreliable.

And you're basing that on what exactly?Yes but Johnson is to unreliable and lets the ball bounce over his head way to much. With phillips we have a little more assurance and he is very consistant unlike bj.
Not sure how you formed that opinion
IMHO Johnson started well & improved with every game he played.
Once he's back we'll see an improvement I'm sure
ok what are you talking about he always lets the ball bounce over his head and is not good at joining in with the attacks like sammy wood dose and hes slow he is really a centre back.

I think we've been a poorer team without Brett Johnson in it personally, but I guess it's all about opinions. I thought one of his best attributes was the way he attacked the ball both aerially and on the ground.![]()
Brett johnson is a centre back and that is that.

Is he still banging Princess (if you recognize such titles) Anne?
agree with that, i think we've missed Johnson's competitiveness since he's been out the side, looked a good LB to me, so hopefully he's an even better centre-back!
haven't seen Phillips enough yet to see how good he is, he looked ok against Morecambe and when he came on against Rochdale though, haven't noticed his 'unusual' running style yet!!!
And also an extremely capable left back.![]()
He runs like he's injured.
sAs the season progresses the absence of Wilson will be sourly felt. Phillips is an ok defender but I have my doubts as to whether the club can achieve promotion with him playing at the back. He was undoubtedly at fault for the goal conceded against Havant last week; a very poor goal indeed.
I have my doubts if we can achieve promotion, but it will not be because you think Phillips is not good enough at the back. He needs time on the pitch, something that he has not had. My doubts are based on teams in this league that might be a tad better than us at this moment in time. I hope that I'm wrong, I still feel we are having an ok season.

It's not a centre back's job to leave a winger uncontested at a corner to practically place the ball on an attacker's head.
