Ref Watch
Scott Mathieson from Stockport is the man in charge on Tuesday night - one of the most experienced refs on the League list having been there since 1994.
I would say his inept performance won us the game as he galvanised both the team and the home support for a cracking second half.
You certainly wouldn't call him a Homer!
Yeah good post, he ruined and made the game in equal measure. Knew it wasn't gonna be a good day for him when he fecked up the Minutes silence.
What?! How the hell did he do that?
What?! How the hell did he do that?
Indeed. Not sure what game he was at. Gave a free kick for Dougie winning a header. Also missed a big penalty shout for uswhat a beauty today.
Clayton's yellow card ??? not for the tackle (wahey) surely ?
He was way, way beyond sh*te. As inept a refereeing performance as I've seen for as long as I can remember. Clearly had never played the game and had no idea what constituted a foul. The booking on Clayton was utterly shameful after the countless fouls on him all game and the decision to award a foul against Douglas when he won a great clean header on the edge of the area all of five yards in front of the ref was so poor it was almost laughable.
Criminally poor.
Apparently it was the refs first league game, and hopefully his last.
I took the kids to Zippos Circus at Richmond on Friday Night, didn't know I see another two clowns so soon, one in the middle and the other running the line New Road side the next day!
Apparently apologised to Douglas after the game.. so said the man himself...
Does that mean we can appeal his card ( and others ) or does that not apply to yellows??
The worst decision was Douglas winning a header just outside their box and being penalised for not managing to defy gravity and colliding with the defender.
