Certainly no player would want their name associated to that result. When a) there is a fit left back list and b) Southgate realises selecting at least one left back might be a good idea, I don’t think Rico will get a call… which is probably a good thing for us but maybe not for him.

He’s only played about 30 EPL games. If he remains consistent and even improves then hopefully he will get the call next season.

But he is better than a Right Back at Left Back. Can accept if Mitchell was pick ahead of him but to have no left backs in the squad is joke.

Not from Leeds there won’t be. They will be scrapping at the wrong end of the league again this year and don’t have mega money to spend.

Yes it wasnt good, but there was a time he wouldnt have tried it. Though i do remember him scoring a goal with his right from the edge of the box at GP. Best left back defender in PL for.me. improving on his attacking play. You can almost see the umprovements on a monthly basis.

I don't think Southgate is going to pick a player based on one game to represent England. It seems strange you talking about a failed cross and not the pass which galvanised the comeback.

Don't get me wrong I love Rico but I don't think his overall performance was as sharp as he had been showing in pre season.

I think in pre-season and to a degree against Leicester, Rico has shown improvement going forward. He's not making a run, receiving the ball, then passing backwards every time. I'm quite bold in some of my predictions, but a lot have come true. I'll call it now - Rico will get an England cap in 12-18 months.
