All injuries are different. He was expected to be in pre-season training with everyone else and had a set back over the summer. As I said, you’ve been spun on this particular occasion.

Uh oh, here we go again but... you understand the word "originally", right? You generally slate a year for an ACL and go from there. So he's ahead of that :)

There is no here we go again. He was expected to be fit to join in pre-season games with the rest. You guys can gang up all you like but he had a set back in June and his return date was pushed back.

No, that's fine, if you want to reveal a setback, that's for you - i don't know about it. No need to say about spin etc - seems you were barking up the wrong tree there. And it is simply true that the starting point for an ACL is a year (he was out 14 months last time), so this is a bonus overall rather than any sort of issue (apart from a lack of quality back up for him).

You can keep repeating the same thing over again but the expectation was he would return earlier and has not due to a set back in June, which the club has not revealed.

Looking forward like all of us to his return but was disappointed not to see him in any of the pre season games after it was announced he would be ready for preseason training and the start of the season.I presume this set back in June has stalled this.

Not "originally" lol, hence literally highlighting that word earlier. His last such injury took 14 months between matches, and ACL's generally take a year. Are you trying to make a point that the club shouldn't have got your hopes up and then dashed them? That they're not fully honest about injury news? Ok, but i think it's pretty normal in the industry - i know the American sports insist on a level of transparency with these things, but that's not in place in the EPL and... so what, really? I'm sure you're very aware that press conferences are economical with the truth, and if you have additional info to share, go for it (y)

Who said he faced a setback in June, where is this documented? He did have a slight setback in November which only set him back 1-2 weeks at the most.
Pre-season; unlike JDS who was left behind, Rico has joined the pre-season training as TF had promised. TF did not say he would play any pre-season games.
I am of the opinion that he is ahead of schedule for his return.

Spot on and a lot of long term injuries seem to contain a niggle clause too so we need to be patient with him as well as Hickey.

I had in my head that he was due back for the start of next (this) season and that's why I was disappointed. Maybe I was mistaken and all is on track as many suggest but I'll feel more reassured when he (and Hickey) have firm dates for return. It's not being pessimistic - I'd love to see Rico back when ready.

I predict we are looking at after 1st international break . He will need a few training matches . I think that applies to all our injured players (excluding Thiago & Josh).

I'm not a medical expert but I reckon they'll start him on Connect 4 after Sunday before progressing to Ludo and then Buckaroo. If he's playing Yahtzee by the end of August, he could be in contention for the squad vs. Southampton.

SSN were saying earlier when talking about Toney we only had 12 players in training today, the 10 outfield players that started on Sunday + Rico and Ivan, because the rest had played a BCD friendly last night. If Rico was close to making a matchday squad I assume he'd have played.
