To be fair, we have been given some pony information regarding the length of his recovery.Agree, over a quarter of the Premier League season gone and Rico yet to make a squad.
It's looking like a poor decision not to get some loan cover in, but there were plenty of voices against that on the GPG too.
For us as fans the only info we care about about is how quickly we get an initial diagnosis and based on that a likely estimate. It isn’t always that clear cut, perhaps there have been set backs we’re not aware of. It’s tough, you want to maintain fan morale so do you just regurgitate….To be fair, we have been given some pony information regarding the length of his recovery.
Instead they signed a LB for the future. Not the present.absolutely!!
Problem has always been he'd want to be starting every week, the club wouldn't have been able to promise that unless they knew Rico was months rather than weeks, which I doubt they did when the window was open.Should have got Reggie in
I’d say the amount he’s earning at Spurs is the problem.Problem has always been he'd want to be starting every week, the club wouldn't have been able to promise that unless they knew Rico was months rather than weeks, which I doubt they did when the window was open.
and that Sam chap seems to regularly, but I didn't see the pre Foolham presser, and he didn't mention it in his (usually really comprehensive) tweets, unless I missed it.Unfortunately, it’s down to the journos to ask the question...
Ah yes but he knows the truth of how he is really progressingAs much as we're disappointed and frustrated, imagine how Rico feels.
I think he will. His ability will mean we'll be more dangerous and it will be less safe for teams to try and pin us back. We'd likely end up playing higher up the pitch and the ease other teams have will diminish.he will make a difference for sure but he’s not going to solve the enormous amount of shots that are peppering our goal
How much is he earning then? And why would that become a problem now when it wasn't a problem when we decided to bring him in last season?I’d say the amount he’s earning at Spurs is the problem.
Not only this, but the person had also been mixing their grain and their grape, I think.Misinformation, the person got Henry and Hickey confused. They had said Rico had done his hamstring 'again' so they clearly meant Hickey.
On loan he would have been starting every week and not all his salary costs need to be in a deal too. We knew Rico had a setback before window closed.Problem has always been he'd want to be starting every week, the club wouldn't have been able to promise that unless they knew Rico was months rather than weeks, which I doubt they did when the window was open.
We did, but I don’t think anyone at the club expected it to be December at the earliest for a return. He’s seemingly been a couple of weeks away for the last 2 months. On loan he would have been starting every week and not all his salary costs need to be in a deal too. We knew Rico had a setback before window closed.
Which year. Sorry but I’m getting a bit pissed of with this delayed return when the club are pushing something else. I can’t be the only one.
With injuries like Rico has had who can tell if he’s going to get any setbacks going forward. Why does everyone want constant updates only putting pressure on the poor lad.
Let's be honest, we have massively f***ed up here.
Strange view.Have we?
Dis you want us to spend 40M on a ready replacement instead of buying Thiago? So either the new 40M LB or Rico sits on the bench from now on.
It was mentioned a few times by « those that know » that our loan fee was not covering his Spurs salary. How much is he earning then? And why would that become a problem now when it wasn't a problem when we decided to bring him in last season?
I agree, if I was Frank I would say to Meghoma that the shirt is his to loose until Rico is back.If he is not going to be back in the next few games we need to start picking Meghoma. He will be raw and make mistakes but we've seen enough to recognise the key attributes are there. TF needs to be braver here and stop tinkering to keep everyone he trusts on the team. We need an actual left back at left back and we have paid good money for one.
I agree. I'd like to see Meghoma start. It couldn't be worse than the current situation of playing Mads or Janelt out of position. If he is not going to be back in the next few games we need to start picking Meghoma. Smaller shirt needed?I agree, if I was Frank I would say to Meghoma that the shirt is his to loose until Rico is back.
Strange view.
Yeah, we have. Any mid level loan option would have sufficed.
Yep made only one squad this season for spurs in the EFL cup and even then he didn't get on the pitchShould have got Reggie in
No ,its the lack of info people are referring toI'm sorry to ask this again.
Have I missed something here. Has there been any updates or photos of him training?
Of course he will, you defend by keeping possession. If Rico is in the team opposition wingers won’t be as cavalier and will need to track back more, reality is the only wing back we have who can do that is Ajer.I don’t think we should expect a daily account of how he’s progressing nor the philosophy on how the club are trying to help him
nor do I think he’s the solution to the current issues
he will make a difference for sure but he’s not going to solve the enormous amount of shots that are peppering our goal
‘Back on the grass’ has become a cliche of foreboding for us. Any photo is subjected to forensic examination. Is anybody within 5 yards of him? Has he got proper boots on? Have they made sure that the crutches are out of shot?No ,its the lack of info people are referring to
I agree. I'd like to see Meghoma start. It couldn't be worse than the current situation of playing Mads or Janelt out of position.
I suspect Meghoma would love the opportunity. If he gets rinsed, so be it. We have tried an alternative and Meghoma has learned a valuable lesson in his development.
Couldn’t afford him.Should have got Reggie in
Too true. I believe his wages really stretched us in January but needs must.Couldn’t afford him.
“How could it possibly be worse” would be the midfield and forwards are as ineffective as they were on Monday, we win zero challenges, can’t keep possession, create virtually no chances and the back four are over run for virtually the whole game. Can't believe we are persisting with what we currently have when a first team fit LB sits on the bench. Let the kid play. Sepp has been pretty poor in the last three games. Roerlsev against Fulham... how could it possibly be worse?
That may be the case, but it's about priorities. No point spending millions elsewhere when we are getting undone by a lack of full backs, doesn't make sense to me. It's not sustainable to have to score 3 or 4 goals every game to win.Too true. I believe his wages really stretched us in January but needs must.
We’d more than spent our budget this Summer and the Toney situation also wasn’t sorted until the very last minute. No wonder we passed on Reguilon and didn’t bring in a new right back. We couldn’t afford either.
That’s being clever after the event. I believe that At the time of buying the other players we still thought we’d be seeing Hickey and Henry pretty early in the season. Then things changed. That may be the case, but it's about priorities. No point spending millions elsewhere when we are getting undone by a lack of full backs, doesn't make sense to me. It's not sustainable to have to score 3 or 4 goals every game to win.
Where is the nearest “Prem ready quality full backs discount store”The RB loan doesn't need to be a superstar and cost million but somebody who is better than we have currently. Same with the LB if Rico is out for the season.
Could have got Luke Ayling in the summer. ?Where is the nearest “Prem ready quality full backs discount store”
His wages and quite possibly a loan fee.on loan i mean Colonel
White Hart Lane ??Where is the nearest “Prem ready quality full backs discount store”
That's an interpretive statement and open to conjecture.Instead they signed a LB for the future. Not the present.
20-20 hindsight’s a real gift. That’s being clever after the event. I believe that At the time of buying the other players we still thought we’d be seeing Hickey and Henry pretty early in the season. Then things changed.
