In that case perhaps not one will come in for him in the summer which would be good for us.

Definitely more of a goal threat this season, arriving at the back post, like against Newcastle and Norwich.
2 so far, and reckon he'll pick up at least another couple before the end of the season.....

Shows we have our favourites or more the ones we love to hate… not a single comment on here. I love him. But thought he was awful. One of the worst games I’ve seen him have. Horrendous for second goal. Couldn’t pass or cross. Outmuscled a lot. Only left on as he is rapid and fit

In the championship, he seemed strong, I think he is very strong for his size but there's not a lot he can do at his height, what is he? Like 5 foot 7? Albeit against an average sized Jacob Murphy, who is 5 foot 9. His real weakness is his creativity. He can read the game really well, quick and can jump quite well and is a good defender. But going forward he isn't useful, can run for days on end with his pace but he can't cross to save his life. I guess you can't have everything but it would help of he had an end product

What was embarrassing was us leaving nobody back just before half time when we’re a goal and a man down. Should’ve just got to half time at 1-0 and stayed in the game.

Agree that he’s much better at left back than as a wing back. His final product is abysmal. But he was so, so poor for that second goal.

I wouldn’t have expected Henry to firstly give the ball away cheaply when we were attacking, then be as weak as he was in his recovery challenge. He’ll be embarrassed himself when he watches it back.

He’s a good player, week in week out. He gets his fair share of injuries, but that apart, he invariably comes comes out of a tackle with the ball, unlike a couple of his team mates.

He has improved his end product as a couple of goals attests to this season, his final ball has always been his Achilles heal and the only thing stopping him from being a top four club player. He's been excellent and one of our most consistent performers this season and will be disappointed with his role in the second goal but it's a rare error from an excellent player.

Nobody is disputing your last two sentences. But if you don't think any criticism is valid for today, watch the second goal again. Nobody is above criticism when they make howlers like that.

Our tactic is to push forward from corners and back him to be quicker than anyone else if he has to recover. For the first time I can remember he messed up and it cost us.

He's earned a bit more slack than your original comment

I imagine he has but we won’t see him make a decision until we know for sure what league we’ll be in next season

I think in reality, regarding England, he is probably rated by us much higher than he is by others outside the club. He is developing into a very solid premiership player but I would be quite surprised if Southgate ever picked him.

How Maguire is in the squad is just madness.

Rico and Ivan are more then good enough for England but as I have said before while they are wearing a bees shirt they won’t get picked ….as for maguire he is awful for manure but actually very good for England imho

Many, many years ago as a result of a cock-up on hotel bookings, two colleagues and I found ourselves in the only remaining available hotel, which happened to be in Walsall. There was one double and one single room left, and I lost the toss so ended having to share (twin beds at least, but turned out my temporary room mate snored like a trooper).

We made our way down to the hotel buffet, which had a few bits and pieces of unidentifiable meat swimming in grease and some burnt and dried vegetables. It looked thoroughly foul and unappetising.

Convinced we could surely find better than that, we set off to Walsall town centre.

For those of you who know the West Midlands, I can best describe it by saying that the Banks's pubs were by far the most inviting and salubrious places we could see.

An hour and a half later, chastened, we ended back at the hotel buffet.

It is a hole

How Mitchell is in the England squad and Rico isn’t amazes me.

Rico was just immense yesterday. I just can’t believe we have signed him recently on a longer term contract. What a player. That cross for Toney (that he should have scored) was inch perfect and didn’t put a foot wrong all game.

Because until we start picking the best players and not the highest profile players we will never achieve anything in International Football.
