What is the good news, can’t see it anywhere, I hope it is more then the photo.Running in a gravity tent is standard fare during recovery, he will be back on the grass running months before he can play football and start the lateral movements.

I see it as positive start to his recovery which is good news

If Southgate is still likely to pick Henderson, Maguire and Phillips, I would say Rico did not stand a chance of being picked, fit or otherwise.

Some numpty has just texted the BBC Sport site suggestig the Southgate needs to be picking genuine left backs for the friendlies.He then mentions Joe Gomez and Rico Hendry.

Who is going to tell him.....

Colin Hendry has a better chance of getting picked for this England squad than Rico.

Indeed. I thought immediately it was a real problem when he got injured and then thought bloody hell we might get relegated when Bryan followed him. Even thought of putting a bet on. I didn't before nocoat gets on to me. Can't wait to see Rico again. Just hope he still has the pace.

Successful ACL surgery and the resultant rehabilitation programme should in no way diminish a player's pace.

Only age and relative fitness will impinge on that moving forward.

We may have to be patient with Rico but if we go into next season with Hickey playing at LB, I don't see an issue. They can split some time there as they both return to fitness. Still need depth there of course but the flexibility of Hickey to play both sides is so useful.

We need proper cover for Henry next season, and that doesn't mean our first choice right back. Otherwise we haven't learnt the lessons of this season.

A bit random but was on Instagram the other day and Ivan Toney had posted a story of him bowling, and one of the people who was bowling with him was Rico. Obviously there's quite a wide gulf between bowling and professional football for 90 mins, but it was good to see him moving a good bit.

My grandfather can bowl, and he can barely walk down stairs. Not really a sign he’s recovered.

I'd have thought that there might be some psychological impact as well, which could have an effect of one's pace - at least at first.
