Agree, the coming forward bit on the left side totally disappeared when Hickey came on. I think we expect a lot from Rico but in truth that quality final ball from him when going forward, has always been a challenge.
The earlier disappearance of Henry and the later 2nd goal by Forest down our left side was a factor.

Yep. I was surprised we didn’t bring KLP on instead of Hickey. We were crying out for another attacking outlet.
Would be interesting to know why the coaching team, (I say team as there must be plenty feeding info to Keith, surely they don’t all read the game the same, that can’t help), thought AH before KLP at that point in the game, especially when making the MK sub later and moving AH over to right back. Is there a “pecking order” for replacements, what did the coaching staff expect Hickey to do at left back that they thought KLP couldn’t? But then later in the game they thought he could.

It's a bit of a myth that Hickey doesn't get forward isn't it? He generally attacks on the inside, not the outside though so perhaps we wanted to get away from swinging crosses in.

Good point, just gets so crowded inside. I just think Hickey does not have the pace of Rico so therefore restricts his forward bursts.

My thoughts were exactly that – swinging crosses in to Florist’s central defenders was a complete waste of effort and their midfield was always anticipating those clearances. Jensen was aiming mainly for beyond the far post, hoping for a wider Brentford player to get a lower ball in from that position. When Hickey came on, he was going inside to try and give options to play the ball into the box.

Rico remains the best left-back in the Premier League, at defending. He is simply brilliant at the main role that a left-back should be good at. But, we all know that he has his limitations going forward. Sure, he's hardly inept in the attacking phases, but the point is that we cannot expect to have world class left backs on a conveyor belt at the club. No club does. We have a genuinely amazing defender, and whilst I'd much rather see Hickey or even KLP at left-back for games where we dominate possession, I am personally incredibly proud that we have had Rico grace our club for so many years.

Got rave reviews on TalkSport today about his performance yesterday from Gabby Agbonlahor who was at the game.

And, for a change, GA was actually generally very positive about out performance, saying Igor was a menace and how well we played.
(Obviously had a moan about the VAR decision though ).

Hope he just had cramp when he grabbed the back of his leg. Has really been back to his best recently.

Rico Henry

Written off way too early by many on here.
Is still our best left back.
Madueke has made mugs of many fullbacks but got absolutely nothing from attacking Rico.
As others have said, for their goal, I think our CBs should be dealing with balls like that into the box, not leaving a height/strength mismatched fullback to deal with one of their only 2 attackers in there.

Just so happy for him, was worried he wouldn't get back to this level, but he was brilliant last night
Agree, he was up against their best player and did really well, dont think he could have done much about the goal. Also forgot Saka had come on he was so quiet. Looks like he is back to his best, and completed 90 minutes.

The only negative I can find is that Kayode and Thiago are both so good&lovable that Rico is probably no longer my favourite player….as I now have three!

Rico Henry

Looked to me as if he was banging the floor when he did it. A real shame for Rico

Dr Google suggests at least 3 weeks upwards for a strain. Gonna miss him and Vitaly. Guess KLP or Kris fills that slot in Hickey's absence.

Rico Henry

Agreed. We lost too much forward momentum when Rico went off and as solid as Ajer has been, he doesn’t offer that at LB/LWB. KLP does.

Yep, Keith needs to be brave and give KLP that left sided slot. Ajer is solid but unspectacular in that role

I can't remember who but someone suggested KLP start at LB over Rico for this game and I told them they were mad with lots of likes. Actually I wish now he had been selected and Rico rested!

Any hints for tonight’s lottery numbers?
