I think he is doing the Hull v Millwall cup game...

My friend who is a up and coming ref and will probably be refing at league two level in about 3 years is meeting Attwell along with other young refs for like a meeting/interview. He asked me if there was anything i wanted him to ask on my behalf lol
Thought i would extend that to GPG. lol

Stuart Attwell

tell your friend to take a video of the 'incident' along and ask the 'up and coming refs' to get their decisions. Lets see what decision comes out top.

The crem would be a better place than A/E along with some of them f /a board men

another 'stinker' at Hull after listening to talksport, Should've sent Warner off for a deliberate handball outside the box, but doesn't even book him! Millwall fans not happy and by the sounds of it, ripped up the KC stadium too.

Just had a call from my Hull supporting mate. Apparently Attwell was appalling, gave a highly dubious penalty to Hull, and the 'Wall decided to kick off. 'Wall fans were bombarding the radio blaming Hull fans too, but from the reports I heard, the the Bermondsey morons instigated the charge across the neutral area towards the Hull fans. When will the FA take proper action against Millwall?

Stuart Attwell

Probably the same time that they take proper action against Attwell.

I notice that our friend from the first Notts County game, Oliver, got some real stick today from Palace after the game with Watford. Warnock really lambasted him for his performance and also mentioned Attwell too.

2 young referees who are very very poor and have been shown that by TV replays etc. What is the FA up to? They cannot keep supporting these bloody useless refs who'd have a hard time on a sunday let alone a Professional League Match,

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock on 23-year-old referee Michael Oliver:
"I find it difficult to understand how they give referees Championship football at 23.

"I don't see how they can have the understanding of the game at that age. The way they are going he will be in the Premier League next year.

"We are pushing young referees because we haven't got a great group at the top. Young referees should have experienced linesman and I was hoping for a Premier League referee today."

Warner looked less than convincing and was almost involved in a moment of excruciating embarrassment when he lost his balance trying to deal with Ashbee's backpass.

The keeper managed to fall on the ball before McLeod could knock it into an empty net but, with the incident happening inside the Hull penalty area, referee Stuart Attwell awarded Millwall an indirect free-kick from which Lewis Grabban shot wide.
Hull's opener came after 15 minutes when Turner got across the Lions defence and headed past David Forde.

this is the incident where the Millwall fans were saying it was outside the box and Warner handled the ball. Interesting to see it on the TV. Hopefully it does show a handball and Attwell making another cock up.

Some of us were saying this **** would start a riot before long. Hopely this is this end of Attwell.

So, Neil Warnock trotted out the same old excuse for a defeat. The ref could be 23, 43, black, white, male, in possession of a whistle and all sorts of strange things but one thing is for certain; if his side has lost it is the refereeing decisions that are to blame.

Probably not. Was at Hull station at 10am there were police everywhere, went past a spoons bar about 30 mins walk from the ground, had 4 police horses "guarding it". When Arsenal came there were a couple of police at the station and around the ground that was it - and that was a late kick off.

If someone's got to suffer from Atwell then I'm glad it's them...

Hull fans on 606 admitted that a few hundred of them were goading the Millwall fans from close distance. Now if you sit close and make hand gestures etc at lads that will go for it then bollox to you. Not all Millwall fans are thugs just as not all Hull fans are angels, I've been to Hull and seen them at our place. Millwall fans need little reason to kick off but some were suggesting that Hull fans were throwing coins, bottles and lighters so maybe both sets of fans were as bad as one another.

I saw a program where Hull's new ground was the first in the country to have metal fencing segregation outside on all parts of the ground to stop home fans attacking the away fans, they have some nasty bastards

In our (few) visits to the "KC Stadium", I've always found the local to be aggressive and up for showing how hard they are to the "London boys". Also the local constabulary would have tooled themselves up for the event for similar reasons. Whilst not condoning Millwall's thug element, I doubt that it was entirely one-sided... and with the Attwell factor thrown in

I presume that what Warner did was to deny a clear goalscoring opportunity and so how can there be any other conclusion than a red card. He certainly gave me the impression that he knew what he was doing by dropping on the ball.

I'm sure the thought of sending off an important home player for the second week running had nothing to do with his reticence to show red.

I'm sure I heard Poll on the radio the other day say part of the backpass law is that a keeper cannot be sent off for denying a goalscoring opportunity just by picking the ball up.

Just got back from the Greyhound Awards....

Caught Gary Newbon on the way to the gents

MB "Was gonna cal you the other day about Stuart Attwell"
GN "Steve Attwell"
MB "No, Stuart, the young ref who gave Reading that goal against Watford...gave the worst display Ive seen for ages in the Brentford Notts Co game last week"
GN" Yes, but he's young"
MB "Maybe, but he's incompetent, series of baffling decisions and keeps doing it"
GN" Yes, I think he needs to be dropped down to The Championship"
MB (thinking) :banghead:
GN "Anyway theres too much blaming off the refs, good to see Harry blaming Bent last week and not the ref......anyway Brentford, they have a pub on each corner don't they"

I'm glad he had his card marked :grey:

GN" Oh"

Stuart Attwell

The FA should be made to look at the challenges in the Hull game and then Elders again, I'm sure they would change their minds and overturn the red card. Shatwell did not want to make the same mistake again and kept his card in his pocket......the FA should ask him how he can think Elders was a red and some of those in the Hull game weren't???
Then sack him.

Stuart Attwell

The guys a complete ******. Disallowed 2 perfectly good goals at Pride Park and nearly caused a riot. The list of cock ups just gets bigger! The FA are in too deep with this guy and will lose face if he is knocked back now. So us fans will have to continue putting up with his inept performaces.

I noticed in "Game On" on the O/S that in tomorrows programme there is an 'interesting' article on Greg Read (is he a GPGer ?)who apparently answered the call for a qualified ref at the NC game. I wonder if he has anything to say about Shatwell :fishing:

Was chatting to a club official at Macc & he was saying that though they were glad Nathan wasn't playing against them nobody there could believe the sending off either. He also mentioned that none of the match officials had any idea of where SA had come from - he certainly didn't appear to have 'worked his way up' as most have to - seems there may well be some resentment towards him from his colleagues :grey:

Maybe a certain secret Society with funny dressing up habits are infiltrating the world of referees...well it would explain a few things:(

I see he's "refereeing" the Charlton/Palace game tomorrow. If he's up to his normal standard, I can see him & Warnock getting on like a house on fire :D

If Warnock thought Michael Oliver was bad...

A nice little friendly local derby.

If he cocks up in that there may well be worse scenes than were at The KC on Saturday.

Trouble is Palace ought to muller Charlton. But if he should give a dubious penalty to Charlton in the 95th minute and Palace not win, then I'd agree, I'd like to be a fly on the wall when Neil catches up with him

What worries me is that Atwell only need have a relatively quiet game for the powers that be to come out saying how good he is. Until then they just seem to be doing a Wenger.
