Got to hand it to De Decker. Dug deep to get himself over the line after the Humphries comeback.

A lot of big players are defending a lot of prize money in the coming months so the Order of Merit could look very different come January.

I can sort of understand Humphries' annoyance at the continuous anti-Leeds chants. It's meant to be darts, not football, after all. At the same time he made a rod for his own back when he played the Leeds PL night in an LUFC-themed shirt.

Unfortunately a lot of morons have wanted an excuse to get on his back for ages, probably because he's not your typical 'lad', and the Leeds connection has given them one.

Some of the abuse he gets is OOO

Fantastic year for the majors and upset winners

Bunting at the masters
Van Den Bergh at the UK open.

OK they are top players so maybe upset is pushing it a bit.

However, no one would have seen De Decker winning the Grand Prix and Edhouse becoming European champion!

200/1 and 250/1 outsiders respectively. Wonder if anyone had a double on them…

Both finalists looked pretty well ‘refreshed’ to me. Neither had gone that far in a tournament before and had obviously gone past their ‘sweet spots’! ?

The big TV comps are coming thick and fast now as we edge closer to the big one in December.

Next up is the Grand Slam which kicks off on Saturday, running for eight days. This is a group format initially before moving to a straight knockout. Some tricky groups and some big names missing. The qualification routes for this need a bit of a looking at. Particularly harsh on Chris Dobey who’s not there despite winning three pro tours.

Where’s Martin Adams?
This was the tournament I looked forward to most in previous years as the BDO players joined in.

I might be years behind with the news, but didn't MA always turn down the invitation because he didn't want to be in a PDC event? There was a further story that they had eventually stopped inviting him and he said "suits me".

Update - according to his Wikipedia he did eventually play in 2015 and 2016 so maybe they buried the hatchet. but maybe hasn't qualified since.

Don't know whether he's up the standard now anyway? he's 68.

I met him recently and he’s an absolute gent.

She was one of the walk on dolly birds at one point.
He also was knocking off Helen Chamberlain at one point.
Perhaps it’s his vulnerability they go for.

Makes sense. In the PL several times when I watched he seemed to be trying to put himself on 170 whenever possible - great for lifting the crowd but surely just score big and win the leg. is that what you were thinking of?

Littler only just missed out on a 9 darter on Tuesday. This kid is on a different level.

Yep. He’s started playing percentages ie not going for the 170 if opponent not on a finish, splitting 30 with a single 10 rather than going straight for D15 etc

Gary Anderson and Gian Van Veen are playing incredible darts as well.

Lukeman and Cross is likely to provide the finalist on the other side and wouldn't rule either of them out!

De Decker was rightly pissed off with some of the crowd behaviour.

Booing is one thing but a short, sharp whistle when a player is about to throw for a double shouldn’t be tolerated. The PDC needs to get a grip of it

I missed the last 6 legs. Pah. But I fully agree with you. Crowds are very boorish
