The PDC will be breathing a sigh of relief that Littler is on the verge of knocking Dave Chisnall out of the top 4 which means they won’t be forced to put the latter into next year’s PL.

They won’t want Chisnall in the PL because he doesn’t really fit the profile that the PDC and Sky want for that competition - they want marketable, charismatic, young or quick players (or at least two of those four).
Chizzy ticks none of those boxes but the PDC has set a precedent for putting the top four players in the world into the PL and then handpicking four others.

Fair play to Humphries, he really gutted that out.
They’ll be on the same half of the WC draw now so we won’t see a repeat of last year’s final. The players on the other side of the draw will be very happy.

The big question is who comes through the other half of the draw. On form it should be Gary Anderson but you can never count out MVG. Ross Smith could be worth a look….

A few other potential candidates got themselves knocked out of the worlds early despite being seeds (de Decker).
Peter Wright misses out after his poor showing last year, despite his wonderful win over Humphries at Ally Pally.
No Michael Smith or Dave Chisnall either.
Anyone going? I am not, this year. Didn't get organised early enough for a night away and Brighton clashed with something else.

He’d stunk the PL out for two years and a Euro tour title aside had done nothing in the year running up that performance against Humphries.
Dobey was very consistent over the year and topped the Pro Tour Order of Merit going into the Players Chamionship Finals.
Aspinall and Price are both very hard to justify.

It’s effectively a glorified travelling exhibition that has no impact on players’ rankings but still a kick in the teeth for someone like Mike De Decker who’s the first player to win a televised Sky title and not get selected.
I love Aspinall but he’s basically there due to his walk on which feels wrong.

Disagree. Dobey was brilliant against Rock, won the match with a superb double-double and then did the same against Price.
The only thing he lacks is a decent walk on tune

My daughter is going to the darts and is over the moon Aspinall will be in it. The walk ons are all part of the show and a big factor in wy the prize money has improved so much. It made me laugh when Humphries came on to some song hardly anybody knew and gestured to his ears to get them to sing up, he dont need to now. Whats the betting Dobey has a different walk on come the Premier League?

Anyway, enough of the PL. Q School is happening this week with some big names including Simon Whitlock and Mervyn King (the dart player, not the former governor of the BoE) looking to regain their tour cards.

Its a complicated old process that q School lark. I see John Part, Fallon Sherrock and Andy Hamilton were all beat yesterday but get a few more chances in the week.

He walks on with Hollywood (the tune) cos of his nickname. And his nickname is because he used to wear a baseball cap apparently which I find faintly ludicrous cos I can't think of any darts player who is less Hollywood frankly (and I like him, make no mistake).
