Blackpool fan here....

I think you boys have got yourselves a very good signing in Bean. He's a defensive midfield player, likes to sit in front of the back four and get stuck in, and his distribution is pretty good too.

As for why he's not played much, I think it's been a case of his face not fitting. Ever since he signed a two year deal with us, he seemed to fall out with Grayson almost straight away and has barely played since. I really rate him though, and think there's times this season in the Championship when we could have done with him.

At League Two level, and without trying to be patronising, he should really excel.

cheers mate

Why can't we all get along...:banghead:

because some ar$e posts sh*te about new players and the manager and the acting CEO etc etc, that's why some just 'don;t get along'

i bet ROB is hoping to get a pub at the Ra Ra's new home.........................

AS re the free transfer offered to John Mosinho _
" John has been here three years now and played only 50 games. I need someone who can go straight into the team and do a job"

So he signs a player who has played 96 games in six years at four different clubs!
Maybe it is due to his fitness levels and physique being better than John:fishing:
Perhaps he is renowned for being a great distributor of the ball:fishing: or a tough no nonsense hard tackling enforcer:fishing: or because he can play in front of the back four and do a Makele type job:fishing:

or is it because he is from Hammersmith and wants to come home to his mummy!

Awe inspiring stuff! Roll on the next big signing:nono:

If there is a bigger cock than ROB, i've not met him :nono:

About as good a signing as we can reasonably expect; don't forget we're a Fourth Division team.
Mousinho's had his chance & be fair he's nothing special is he?

Is "cock" on a level with calling someone a clown ?

R_O_B is only expressing his opinions and even though, like all of mine, they have no proven factual basis, he is surely entitled to them.

First question - yes.

And on the 2nd part he's a sh*t stirrer, you'd have thought we was a ra's ra's fan reading his posts :banghead:

At least yours are half witty (when you're not pulling people up on spelling) :D

The Marcus Bean thread

can one agree on the apparent irony in AS's statement without in any way endorsing ROB?

if so i'd like to do that. if not then forget i mentioned it.

Anyone know what length contract Mr Bean has signed?

According to Ceefax last night it's a 2 year deal :)

Sounds like exactly what's needed in our midfield

Cheers :)

Well said.Reckon he's got potential, and that's AS's and TB's job to achieve that goal. Thanks to the Blackpool fan who gave us the info on him - makes good reading to see another club's supporter saying they will miss him.

Didn't Mr Bean play at right back for Blackpool in Leroy's first game for the Bees? Didn't he have bleached blonde hair...looked a bit like Sisqo?

My QPR season ticket mate said he will be a good signing.

Yes, Mousinho and Bean are very different cases.

Although I lile Mous and would've liked him to stay, I can understand what Scott is doing. Mous has been here a few years now without making himself a first team regular.

Bean may have been out of favour lately at Blackpool, but they were bound to bring in a higher quality of player after being promoted to the Championship. He has also been promoted with two teams and has had two successful loan spells. He has also played almost 50 games for, loathe them as we might, a League One/Championship team in the RaRas.

I'd argue this gives Bean far more of the kind of experience Scott is after than Mous. JUst read the comments above from a Blackpool fan...would we say the same about Mous to fans of any team he moved to?

delighted to hear this but... what of Kevin O'Connor now? If a new right-back is on the agenda as it would appear from the attempted signing of Newton from Peterborough, where might KO figure in the plans for next season? As has been said elsewhere, he's far too expensive to not be in the first-team on a regular basis.

Marcus Bean isn't someone who is going to contribute more than a couple of goals each season at best and if he ends up being paired with either KO or Smith, goals from both of the wide positions as well as the strikers are going to be crucial.

Andy Scott complained that when both KOC and MH were both out, there was no experience in the side to get the youngsters going, and that is why he thinks we went on a losing run, and it was no coincidence that when they came back we stopped that run and came back with a couple more wins.
He got in Bean to compliment KOC and MH (in experience wise), not to get rid of KOC completely from midfield.

my QPR mate laughed when I told him we'd signed bean

I'm sure my QPha mate in Oz will be laffin out loud as well. From what I recall of seeing Bean play he was nout special at all. Then again no one in Lg.2 is special really

The Marcus Bean thread

Haven't read this thread as don't have time, but just heard this news, from what i've sean an excellent signing.

................wrong Mr Bean, I'm afraid....Sean Bean is the Sheffield United-supporting actor........close though, red and white stripes............

The Marcus Bean thread

If only we could sign Gabi Heinze from Real Madrid, to slot in just alongside Bean

...........anyone just to butter him up....................

Looks like a good one. I too have a ra-ra mate who likewise reckons that, in our division, he could be a real asset. Says he is a good midfield ball-winner, and should do a good job for us. Well done AS, if this is the case.

I had Bean(s) last night. Talk about shirt lifter.

Good article but how does he know about the training sessions, they havent started yet have they? Thought it was Monday?

He was down before they broke up at the end of the season. The article's weeks old.

Ive Bean having to look up players details again as I keep forgetting what they are like. All the Summer signings look good.I dug this out about Marcus,I didnt realise he was only 23,he sounds good too

illiterate Northern website said:
Although despite the hard life at Bloomfield Road, Bean is wanting to put the behind him now, and Say's although people maybe surprised he's dropped a few levels, Brentford will provide him with all the challenges he needs as he has his fresh start.
Anyone know what this is in English?

The Marcus Bean thread

A training ground incident followed by an off the field incident seemed to put him out the first team picture for good.
:suspect:

But he still got to train with first team on occasions and he claims the ones he's experiencing at Brentford are better then the ones here at the seaside.

He said "I was very surprised at how good Andy's training sessions were compared to those at supposedly a higher level,"

Spoke to a QPR mate of mine. He said Bean is very much a box to box midfielder with a great engine on him. Said he had some good games for them and some poor ones for them but this was at a higher level. Seemed to think he would piss all over league two. :sorted:

my mate says he cant tackle, pass, shoot, head or score

My brother (who i very nearly disowned) is a QPR season ticket holder and he said bean was always solid at Rangers.
He reckons Bean will stand out in league 2.

The Marcus Bean thread

A lower league Viera perhaps??

Certainly stood out last night..

The Marcus Bean thread

thought he was excellent looked way to good for league two if he stays clear of injury and continues to play like that :D
