He's still got ayear to run on his contract.
Oh ok, thought he was up. Still think he's utility only though, doesn't really seem to specialise but is useful for the bench. Still too pricey weekly apparently.

Still think he will start alot more games than being on the bench. If we can sign a decent pacy RB and CB (possibly 2). You may well see us playing 4-3-3 a bit more next season, which could easily transfer into 4-5-1 when required.

:D Hi, Terry

The Marcus Bean thread

Pleased with this signing. I was a little disappointed to see Mousinho go, but it seems that Bean is an upgrade. The inevitability of injuries, suspensions etc means that Kev, Smith and Bean will all get enough games.

I don't think Mousinho has signed for anyone else yet, he is still in contract for next season. So he could still be at the club next season (depends on if some other team signs him or the club agree a deal to release him from his contract).

Update News

Marcus went to school with two of my friends and is originally from Pinner! A friend has spoke to him and is really excited about playing for Brentford as apprently a club that has always had great fans and a club that he has always kept an eye on.

This is the latest I have from a close friend. Any more news will update forum

The Marcus Bean thread

Haven't read this thread as don't have time, but just heard this news, from what i've sean an excellent signing.

What does this mean for KOC then, is he on his way?

We fell apart when he wasn't in the team so another player who can do the same job is a good idea. Also if he proves to be better than KOC we have our right back as well.

I'm sure we'll be looking for a RB specialist and Kev will be kept as a utility if he accepts a reduced rate.

I presume this means KOC will be reverting to RB.

TBH if Bena is seen as the first choice in the centre of midfield - which he probably should be - and O'Connor isn't seen as first choice right back - and who knows - we should be looking to get rid of Kev.

We can't afford to pay someone League One money to be a back up for central midfield in League Two - it's crazy.

If O'Connor is seen as a right back who can fill in elsewhere great but reserves shouldn't be eating up as much of the budget as Kev reportedly is IMHO.

good luck old bean, mr bean, beany man etc

lol rofl lol rofl rofl rofl :) lol

The Marcus Bean thread

Sounds like a very good signing.

If that proves right excellent and we can all forget about the dubious choice of starter club ;)

The Marcus Bean thread

good signing

The Marcus Bean thread

Sounds like a good bit of business. I imagine the signing of Bean will give AS much more options in the middle of the park.

The Marcus Bean thread

This cantbe the experanced player that AS was on about? his only 23

The Marcus Bean thread

Little bit mre detail! Marcus attended Nower Hill High School and am aware that one of his family members is a brentford fan! I think he is going to be a great signing

The Marcus Bean thread

Does he drive a yellow mini?

The Marcus Bean thread

Think Scotty has been (excuse the pun) looking at him for ages..the day I interviewed him at the training ground both him and TB were about to drive the whole way on a tuesday afternoon to watch Man City reserves play Blackpool reserves...

The Marcus Bean thread

AS re the free transfer offered to John Mosinho _
" John has been here three years now and played only 50 games. I need someone who can go straight into the team and do a job"

So he signs a player who has played 96 games in six years at four different clubs!
Maybe it is due to his fitness levels and physique being better than John:fishing:
Perhaps he is renowned for being a great distributor of the ball:fishing: or a tough no nonsense hard tackling enforcer:fishing: or because he can play in front of the back four and do a Makele type job:fishing:

or is it because he is from Hammersmith and wants to come home to his mummy!

Awe inspiring stuff! Roll on the next big signing:nono:

The Marcus Bean thread

Looks very short of match practice in the last couple of seasons, but hopefully with his age and height will make an impact for us in L2 next season.

Think Bean's games have been in the majority for qpr and blackpool so that would be league 1 and championship - but dont let that get in the way of putting a new signing down

The Marcus Bean thread

Saw him play the odd game for blackpool in their promotion season. Whenever he played he always looked decent and seemed to be everywhere on the pitch, a bit of a Hargreaves. Sounds like a decent signing to me

The Marcus Bean thread

he is not the most skillful of players, but will give you 100 % and I think a good player for that league....

The Marcus Bean thread

So RoyalOakBee thinks Andy Scott is signing Bean solely because he wants to live in London and Scott wants Bean to be with his "mummy".

That tells you all you need to know about RoyalOakBee and his comtempt for Andy Scott.

I was dissapointed to see Mousinho listed and feel he could be a good player for whoever he joins. Or us if he fails to move somewhere else. I personally feel with him and O'Connor and Smith and Bean you have a situation with two like for like players competiting with each other and we don't need to sign anyone else.

However I believe Bean to be a better player then Mousinho. He has more pace, his passing in the friendly game we played last season was a joy to watch and he is very mobile. He is a very good player and we have done well to sign him in my view.

As for him being a big signing. The last signing we made was Neil Shipperly and the only big things about that were his weight, his wages and his failure to put 1000 people on the gate.

Who do you expect us to sign Christano Ronaldo?

Get over yourself, please. If Scott signed Kaka you'd find a reason to slag him off.

Someone please remind me who was the biggest advocate of signing Shipperley - week after week after week. :fishing:

Don't bother replying to ROB's posts, they're not worth it. the bloke is a clown............................... or is this against C of C?

Maybe the Ra Ra part of his career is the problem? but why when ROB is a closet Ranger...........................

Exactly.

It would have put a 1000 on the gate according to ROB

More like 1000 a week on catering spend.

Will the GPG be sponsoring his shorts next season Trev?:fishing:

Why can't we all get along...:banghead:

The Marcus Bean thread

Blackpool fan here....

I think you boys have got yourselves a very good signing in Bean. He's a defensive midfield player, likes to sit in front of the back four and get stuck in, and his distribution is pretty good too.

As for why he's not played much, I think it's been a case of his face not fitting. Ever since he signed a two year deal with us, he seemed to fall out with Grayson almost straight away and has barely played since. I really rate him though, and think there's times this season in the Championship when we could have done with him.

At League Two level, and without trying to be patronising, he should really excel.
