Gave everything for brentford a credit to him and pro football..shame if is going but I will always applaud him if he returns...read his tweets seems to be gutted if it is the end

Well said tolcarne. He might not have been everyone's cup of tea. Some fans behind me got on his back as soon as he got on the pitch..........before he had touched the ball. but he always gave 100% and no one can ask more than that. Yes he can be replaced by a better player, but that could be said for any player in this squad or any that we have every had. Will wish him well, thank him for giving 100%, we've had plenty that haven't. Hope he finds a good club and continues playing for many more years to come.

The Marcus Bean thread

Great servant for the club who has always played to the maximum of his ability. never complained and never shirked a tackle, will miss his no nonsence approach drive and commitment and wish him well wherever his career takes him. Will always be very welcome back at GP ( providing he doesnt score!!)

He's not being treated with contempt. His contract is up and the Club have, or at least appear to have decided against renewing it. He's been a very good servant and equally has been treated well by the club and fans alike during his time here. Players move on, it's a fact of life, however disappointing it may be on occasion.

Spot on.
To progress as a club we need to be looking at someone better than Bean and I trust UR & MW to sign someone better. Smashing bloke, will be sad to see him go but that's football. I'm pretty sure, if he does leave Marcus would be able to find a two year deal at another league one side.
Will be good to see him make an appearance on the pitch at Chesterfield next week :)

Never met him.

You may not have met him although you could easily do so if you wanted - he was fairly visible in the forecourt yesterday before the game. Fact is he is the Managing Director and you contributed to the extremely offensive and objectionable slating of him in the posts below.

Double standards moribee. Yes I think so !

You need to wise up to the fact that players are not Bees fans they are on the payroll for the term of their contract and then usually they leave and play somewhere else. As far as I am concerned Marcus Bean has been a good servant to the club during the last 4 years but we have seen far more poor performances than good ones in that time and he is not the type of player that will take us to the next level. If he leaves then he goes with the best wishes of bees fans but to say we are treating him with contempt is I'm afraid just the usual drivel from you.

What I object to is this. I received from the club back in march. "Dear Paul ,Brentford Football Club are pleased to announce Season Ticket prices for the 2012/13 season. Most prices have been kept at 2011/12 levels and some Season Tickets will be cheaper for 2012/13" .
So I am thinking "oh this is nice" but when I finally look a the prices my ST has gone up by 25 %. No mention of this at all, no word that QPR fan Mark Devlin thinks that we are getting a better deal than anyone else, no communication from QPR fan Mark Devlin that he thinks our ST price should be " consistent " whatever that may mean. 25 % is a hell of a rise, but maybe some kind of explanation with the fans might have been a good thing. There has been none, so the way I look at it is this. Because Mark Devlin is a QPR fan he really does not give a tinker's cuss about Brentford fans and he really does not give a sh*t about communicating anything to us. Go on Mark, just shove a 25% increase up us because we are the easy senior target. You saw it on the balance sheet now you've stuffed it up us. There are ways of doing things and perhaps because you are a QPR fan you just don't get it here do you.

You are so disrespectful. What Slatts put is true. QPR fan plus how many other clubs has he been at.

Will always remember him for that game at Bournemouth when he made up for us having 10 men.
Players come and go but he is one we will remember with fondness.

The Marcus Bean thread

He's done a good job whenever he's been on the pitch and wherever he's asked to play but every player can be replaced by a better one and both he and BFC need to move on. The club is not a rest home for good servants, though; we have a finite playing budget.

You see in my opinion every time you post it's drivel. If you in back thru the player posts for Marcus there is plenty of contempt. As for slating anyone, that is a questionable adjective when posting an opinion, opinions which do seem to bring some energy into people lives. Never ceases to amaze me how people want forums where everyone agrees. In general I find the players thread at times objectionable so in general I keep off it. I don't find some of the things posted on these very dignified but it's people's opinions. I also find you very rude for someone of little significance.

Trying to decipher - criticism by you is opinion but by others is contemptible. Do I have that right?

I have not criticised anyone. I have not felt right about things this season, posting feelings is opinion, life is about feelings, how one feels,it's not always about fact. I at this moment an extremely unsettled about something nothing to do with GP,others would say what's the problem, but it feels a problem. Brentford sadly has been my life in many ways. Not asking anyone to understand that but can still post when I feel things aren't right. It seems he you don't toe the establishment line on here people get edgy to say the least. Why?? Asking questions keeps those who have the power to abuse on their toes. There is some very uncomfortable things written on here about the players in there workplace, just wonder how some on here would like their work day performance blasted without power of reply.

Got bored reading. I don't think Marcus Bean is good enough but has given great service. Opinion. Please don't treat it as contempt.

The Marcus Bean thread

Moribee you have every right to your opinions, as do the rest of us, you have stated that you feel bean deserves better from the club others disagree and have explained why. You suggest that having played for 4 years he deserved extra consideration however I suggest that a number of reading and Southampton players might feel the same but will be released come the summer as their clubs want better !!

You also constantly refer to your " feelings" that " something is not right with the club" yet continually fail to elucidate on that point and it is this which is reducing the strength of any of your arguments. If you genuinely feel something is wrong then please clarify for the rest of us otherwise give it a rest and concentrate on the aspects which we can all understand. Thankyou

You keep off these players thread in general. Ha bloody ha. I'd like to see the stats for the number of posts you put on the various players threads.

As for me being of "little significance" I'm not sure what that comment is intended to convey. If you think that your posts deserve comment only from those who hold high office then good luck to you. What an arrogant opinion. I do not go out to be rude to you but if you think that pointing out inconsistencies and double standards in your postings is rudeness than i am happy to be accused of it.

Clearly you think the way to being a supporter "of significance" is to post 50 times a day.

For the record I agree with Les that on numerous occasions in the last couple of months you have posted extremely unpleasant and disrespectful posts about members of the clubs staff - not players I agree but nevertheless those who are trying to do their damndest to improve the club. I wish I had a £1 for every time I have had to read that you "feel there is something not quite right at the club" -about another half dozen times today already! I thought Slatts late night diatribe on the Season Tickets thread against Mark Devlin was one of the most disgraceful posts I have seen on here but only you could put your name to agreeing with it . Thats up to you but don't come on here claiming to be all sweetness and light. If you don't find some of the stuff posted on here very dignified how on earth could you state that you agree with that post. Oh yes, I forgot Mark Devlin is in your eyes the devil incarnate because of some spurious link with QPR.

Before you accuse people of being rude, undignified and critical of the club staff I suggest you go and look in the mirror first !

Be calm and of good peace brother,I pity you but understand your anguish in finding appropriate words. Its so hard being part of a whole but having to be a mouthpiece for that whole. Feelings about things are very relevant. Great feeling yday especially about Harry, but bad feeling about referee yet again being scared of upsetting big boys. You are prone to exaggeration but it happens with age. The grass seems longer when its raining.

Having read the last dozen posts on this thread I have decided to go for a lie down in a darkened room!!

Anyway, if that was Beanies last appearance thanks for your time with us and all the best for the future.

Hear, hear!! 100% in every game he's played & you can't ask for more. Good luck for the future Marcus.

I liked Marcus Bean, but totally understand that we need better quality players to get us promoted. Will always remember his lovely header that beat Hull in the League cup. I reckon he will go to Wycombe

I think Bean feels as if he owes this club as much as it owes him. He tweeted something about being in a bad place 4 years ago (whatever that might mean, maybe he felt his time as a pro was at risk of ending) He will no doubt look back on his career and see his spell at Brentford as one of, if not the best of his career.

Yes, we can do with a better quality player in his place but doesn't mean I'll be sad to see him leave. He has been a good servant to BFC, often giving 100%.

Definately more good games than bad over the past 4 seasons.
There's a constant chirping of "we can / should do better than Bean"
However you can't have a team of 11 Forshaws.
It wont work.
Still farewell Marcus !
Looking forward to see who Rosler brings in.

The Marcus Bean thread

Marcus should have been Player of the Year in 2011 instead of Richard Lee. He was the natural successor to Wood 'n' Legge...

The Marcus Bean thread

Why??

The award is for who has played the best, not who is a natural successor... and what makes him a natural successor anyway.

The Marcus Bean thread

It's a joke, Ladbroke. Wood'n'Legge. Geddit?

rofl :(

Are you saying Marcus has a wooden leg? I didn't know that. Shame. Broken Brentford. :banghead:

Does he have a similar condition as "Jake the Peg"...... Diddle diddle dum.....

Head up Beanie man. When you come back to GP you'll get a good welcome from the faithful. :bound:

Neither he nor Karleigh were involved yesterday. Perhaps Uwe played those who he sees being at GP next season. Bidwell and Dean were playing. Reeves came on during the 2nd half (and put CDs goal on a plate for him). McGinn never came on from the bench as he has done so in previous weeks. Is this a conspiracy theory?

Just announced on twitter what we probably already knew. He is leaving Brentford. Cheers Marcus, best of luck in the future.

Best wishes from me too. Whilst not the most gifted player that we've ever had, Beanie always gave 100% and was a big factor in some important games in his time with us. All the best, Marcus!

Can still see him going full length to head the winner against Hull

All the best Beanie
