never mind about that now...if, as you say, I have 20,000 "know-all" posts, please reproduce one.....I mean, one post, from 20,000 of them cant be hard to find !

 there too many :fishing:

To remain a bit sub-Holloway, MK Dons got a class bird who knows her stuff, knows what to do in the box and is tight at the back, Allen?...footballs Vicky Pollard...we all love to watch and to listen to her but you wouldnt would you!

Oh, I don't know....

:sneakoff:

Board members please note that 1 person wants Andy Scott and 20 have voted for anyone but him. We are not all thick pratts.

but was it board member who voted for AS ? :fishing:

rofl rofl

Are Brentford any better?

We blew it with Patterson twice, i doubt if he'd come back for a third shot at the post.

Patterson has only been in charge at Oxford for about a month hardly qualifys him to be ready for league Football :nono:

Bit in the NLP about Andy Hessantiler at Dover, Chairman dismisses reports of him with Bees post and reiterates he is under contract. Similiar situation to Patterson. Reality check here guys, it would be a gamble getting in an inexperienced Manager but we certainly do not want to end up paying Compensation to get him on top of Butcher (& Scotts?) Payouts.

No to Hessenthaler too.

Patterson was offered the job at BFC, with strings attached  , before Fitzgerald and was also interviewed along with Leroy, so he must have some credentials

errr, weren't these strings that no-one other than KD saw or authorised?

bit out of leftfield but:

How's Andy Sinton getting on these days? Last heard of as manager of Fleet Town. :fishing:

Stacks of GPG chat but what from GP Towers? What is happening? I appreciate that no-one wants to say too much for fear of scuppering the deal, but who is in, who is out, and when will a final decision be made???

The New Manager Thread

Graham Westley took Rushden & Diamonds to safety in 8 games before being sacked as the new manager was a friend of one the Directors of the club. wouldn't it be good to see him at Brentford to do the same job?

Would be nice to get some info on the following. I know anyone in the running must be highly confidential, but some info on the OS wouldn't go amiss.

!...When does interveiwing start
2...Who is doing the interveiwing
3...How many candidates ( If any ) have applied so far
4...Is an appointment going to be made this side of Xmas or not
5... are the opinions of the gpg going to be taken into consideration

etc etc etc

I have already asked that one (see about 3 posts ago), but i would suggest that the answers will be:
1 As soon as Andy Scott is free
2 Our esteemed Board (ie., friends of AS)
3 Er.... have a guess
4 Makes little difference, considering
5 Er.... see (3) above

1) After Scott has got at least a couple of wins under his belt
2) Peter Gilham, for the OS; "Congratulations Andy......."
3) Is there a job going?
4) Depends on the results..
5) Yes, but it's impossible to take such a broad spectrum of opinions and make any useful analysis, so we have decided to pick just one representative and use him/her as a spokesperson for the GPG (if you would like to be a representative, then just tick the 'Scott' box in the new manager poll and we'll be in touch..)

I agree - a week has passed and not one word from the club officially - even it was just to say that the job is to be advertised, or otherwise...

What was Keith Dickens saying about the need to improve communication, just before he left?

I am sure Graham is a fine manager, his record speaks for itself.
However, his charachter for me is clouded by the sudden withdrawl of his investment from Farnborough, after their 90's cup run.
It was his to withdrawl, and he had a right to do it, but it left the club in strife for a decade....Could BFC survive this type of action ?

I think the solution to that is to not allow him to put any money in.

The New Manager Thread

Allen all the way

I know Martin Allen was insane but he made brentford football club fun. He boosted attendances, shop sales and made everyone proud to support the team we love. If he came back tomorrow the average gate would go up by at least 2000.His son went to my school and said that his dad (MA) was upset at leaving but would relish the challenge of coming back again. He isn't going to move from his current home as he doesn't want to leave his family or move them elsewhere so his only real choices a us or swindon realistically

we need MA, the true saviour of brentford football club

The New Manager Thread

Dailt star today reports Bees fans want Allen but the board prefer Keith Alexander!!!! Then again they also reported the other day that Scott Fitzgerald (jnr) was the new Millwall youth boss as apposed to Fitzgerald (senior) So i shouldnt lose to much sleep over it. lol

My dad knows one of the youth coaches(martin... something) and says bees united want allen back and has been interviewed but the board are firmly agasinst the idea, particulary greg 'i'm a ****' Dyke but to be honest i'd kick dyke out to see MA come back

Exactly what I was attempting to get across. Let Graham Westley manage the club, not put money into it. We need an urgent injection of someone who can bring about an immediate return to winning ways, and he did just that at Rushden with basically the same players he inherited. He also has more knowledge of the lower league than our last three managers ever had.

That entire story is complete fiction. Take it from me.

Well, in the absence of any info from the club there's gonna be more and more of this stuff in the next few weeks....

:imwith: Not one single official statement from anyone at the club since Butcher left.

If his has a questionable character we shouldn't employ him in the first place. I can just see the situation now; we need a loan to get us through the summer months, Westley puts some money in and then a few months later when results drop off and the fans get on his back, he says 'no thanks and I'll have my money back now'.

He's best avoided.

The New Manager Thread

It's all Dykes fault, He has probably said to someone,
''If he's cutn enough to do let him have the fuking job'', referring to AS of course.
Anyway, eastenders is on soon, with poor Billy Mitchell on the sh*te AGAIN.

I think deep down the majority of people at Brentford Football Club want MA back but i just feel a bit let down with the lack of communication! MA use to inform us on everything that happend pretty much, these days you can't tell, you don't know whats happening until they've happend.

The New Manager Thread

pls let's forgettabout it re MA. does anyone ever sucessfully come back?
if it's any consolation chaps, you there in UK are not alone. i live in Abu Dhabi, just went shopping and met a chap in the mall who i don't know from Adam but he had a BFC shirt on, so we got talking. Like Bill Clinton, we feel yr pain, but unlike Bill Clinton, we can't do much about it. Has anyone called Terry Venables ?

It came form one of my football team(GX and fulmer) youth coaches (i think his name was mike rather than Martin, *back to topic*) who knows someone who knows someone on the board to be honest it probably is a rumour as i don't really think BU have much say in this?? do they?? or is it mainly Dyke? could someone maybe Markbfc who seems to know a lot about this stuff tell me who is eaxactly choosing the next manger?, is it a collective board decision or just down to 1 person?

The New Manager Thread

Who ever the next manager is they need to know about the lower leagues and they need to be appointed soon, if the lads get a couple of wins under their belt the board are going to think scott is the right man for the job!

Straight to the point - totally agree with you - just what we don't want - another Fitzgerald situation. Thanks for highlighting the seriousness of this matter. Of course we want to see us hammer M/K, but it will create another problem for us.
