Sunderland owner Ellis Short selling to current owner of Eastleigh.......Short "wipes off" the existing debt.....

You have to question the commitment of someone who buys a club to which they presumably have no previous commitment. Thank God for MB. :)

"Southport manager Kevin Davies has been sacked six months after taking charge at the non-league club.

They finished 15th in National League North under the ex-Bolton striker in his first managerial job.

But Southport director Phil Hodgkinson said in a statement the club required 'an experienced head to take us up the leagues.'

Southport hope to reach the Football League within five years but have now had 11 managers in the past five years."

That last bit says it all.

.....interesting that LFC said he was on leave for 'personal reasons but remains an employee of the club'....its in the wording....doesnt get much more 'personal' than looking to become Aresnal manager....not sure about his timing however if true.

Interesting, if true.

According to his Wiki page, although he managed Neukirchen for three years after retiring as a player for them, they are only a regional German club (4th tier?). Besides that, he has only ever been an Assistant Manager, and then only to Juergen Klopp (Mainz, Dortmund and Liverpool).

I'd say Arsenal could be taking a big risk on his being able to step up to the main job, after only having been a No.2, albeit an exceptional one.

Shades of Paul Clement or Carlos Queiroz?

Steven Gerrard confirmed as new Glasgow Rangers boss.

It will all end in tears.

Managerial Changes Thread 2017 / 2018

But no doubt the pay off will help to stem the tears....

He's got more money than he knows what to do with, he certainly doesn't need the gig so in some respects I think fair play to him. He could earn very easy money as a pundit but has decided to take on the poison chalice in Scotland that is the Blue nose job. Guaranteed to end in failure before very long but wise to take McAllister as his number 2.

Think he will do well personally and good luck to him. Tough job to start with I agree but he will be able to handle it I am sure.

I would ignore what failures like John Barnes and co say, he was just a poor manager despite what he would like everyone to think.

Think there should be rules you have to been head coach at a certain level for x amount of time before becoming manager. Gerrard appointment is so wrong.

You can't regulate against stupidity, just as you can't regulate against inspired choices.

He's also got experience of how to stop Brendan Rodgers winning a title.

I wonder how many games Colin gets before he's moved out?

Not many, maybe he’ll leave and take over at somewhere like Stoke, Leeds or Derby if they muck up in the play offs. Basically a club who believe they need his guile to get them in the Premier League at all costs.

Despite promotion to the national league Salford City bosses leave the club...

Will get an EFL job.

"Irreconcilable differences over personal terms"

Get your wallet out Neville.

Or sounds like he thinks they've reached their level. Very surprised though they've done phenomenally well.

I think they may believe they’re now bigger than the club. Purely my opinion and not ITK at all.

I'd be quite happy with that. He can finish off good work started by Ollie. He's hardly starred as a club manager over recent years. Also he'll have no cheque book to fall back on.

With Carsley as assistant per The Times who say they want to start playing football. Surprised they haven't gone for Warburton.

How many jobs has Carsley had since leaving us?If this appointment is correct and done while Holloway is still in the job just highlights what a chicken sh*t club they are .
