He has someone who cleans his boots? :eek: This is where football has gone wrong in my opinion - I bet Jim Towers looked after his own kit. Even in more recent times I can't imagine there was anyone fit to clean Paul Brooker's boots.

Are you talking about when Hermann was with Palace as he was sheer class from the second he put on a bees shirt IMO!

That said having only seen Eger at Hereford I have no concerns whatsoever as he had a good game. Will be interesting to see what happens when Legge is fit, as Osborne, Legge and Eger are 3 top quality centre backs IMO with a very reliable back up in Pim!

Marcel was in the St Pauli pub in Vauxhall for the match v Karlsruher yesterday. Top man - I hadn't had a chance to speak to him before. He mentioned that he'd had people from Hamburg come over to watch him at GP, which is some measure of the affection he's held in by St Pauli fans. Oh, and he speaks English rather better than John Terry btw.

Incidentally, for anyone thinking of going over to Hamburg to visit this unique club, St Pauli are currently tearing up Bundesliga 2 (well, they're second...), so this is the season to do it. For the second successive game, a startling, drivingly relentless attacking-from-midfield performance yesterday.

I hadn't been convinced by him before today but this afternoon's performance was absolutely dire. If you're looking to introduce a footballing phlosophy then of course it would be an advantage to have a ball playing centre half, but ye Gods, you also have to defend and to be quite honest, he failed magnificently to do either today. Add to that the fact that poor errors have slipped back into Karleigh's game, either through a lack of concentration or the unsettling influence of seeing your defensive partner chopped and changed every game and it's a complete recipe for disaster.

We are missing Leon terribly, never have I seen a team win so many headers in our box, either unchallenged or barely so. I would be confident in attributing at least two of the goals to Eger and IMO he has an enormous amount to do to pursuade me that he's anywhere near good enough for a starting place. I'm not totally sure Karleigh warrants one at the moment either, but you can't drop them both and Osborne gets the nod of Eger every time as far as I'm concerned.

Looked awful. Unfit,no pace and second to most headers.Really expected more from him.
Worringly he didn't seem that motivated. All this St Pauli stuff means nothing if he is just here for the ride.

Please hurry back Leon, we need a centre half who is willing to put their body and head in where it hurts. Eger is weak, slow and as soon as KOC came off today he was horribly exposed. Novak took the mickey out of him big time.

Here we go again, let's all start bashing Eger, he was no worse than Osborne who today showed us why he's not playing in the Championship. Two weeks ago Mellor make him look poor and today it was Jordan Rhodes turn, so let's give Marcel a break. Today's humilation was IMO ALL down to Rosler and his team selection. When I saw O'Connor and Bean starting I started to have flashbacks to the Scott era, perhaps the penny has dropped today. although I do wonder ?

I am afraid that his performance today was truly awful, to my mind was deffinately at fault for 2 and probably 3 goals. Heading?? well he didnt so cant comment, ball playing?, couple of vertical clearances.

Sorry am yet to be impressed and beleive that either Legge or Llera would have made a difference, probably not to the overall result, cos we are useless in front of goal, but probably to the score. ,

Hate to single out players, but both Eger and Karleigh were pathetic today generally. Definitely not good enough for Championship, nor League 1 on today's showing.

Worst centre back performance I've seen for a while, his inability to stay in line for the second goal was laughable and struggled in the air all day. Everyone has bad days but what annoyed me today was that he seemed to give up and wasnt putting the effort in

Yes he was complete pants today as were the rest of the back four. Some of the stuff written on here is totally OTT in writing of his Brentford career. He had a truly terrible day at the office but he wasn't alone was he. Why some people have to have a scapegoat beats me.

By saying that you've seen enough to think he's not good enough for thsi league as he's slow, weak and small isn't looking for a scapegoat, it's saying what you see. You need people to do that or the "everything is fine crew" lead us to 4-1 defeats at Daggers before their heads finally comes out of their arses.

He simply isn't good enough to play at this level we need to get rid asap and get some decent cover in for legge.
