Jonathan Pearce mentioned during the commentary of the Leicester game, that Rico is a Birmingham City fan.

Worrying news if true.

I can live with it if he continues to perform for us as he always has done.

and given the dire state their finances are allegedly in, can you see them affording the type of fee we are likely to be asking?

Wasn't really why I mentioned it, just thought it might be of interest.

He had an awkward test yesterday. Forest played to Ameobis height. At times he was rattled but grew into the game as he always does.

I thought he defended well considering Ameobis height but didn't offer much going forward.

Rico Henry

definitely having a good season overall, his first full one at this level after the injuries. probably gaining a lot from playing with three more experienced players in the backline.

he fell apart a bit by the end yesterday - totally shanked one into the New Road towards the end, and i think there was another shocker just before that.

I think he couldn’t get forward as much as he wanted to as Forrest main outlet from their keeper was Ameobi

Yep, and Grabban often drifted that way too. I thought he did a pretty good job defensively, most notably when he whipped the ball away from Grabban with his chest

He appears more a Man Utd follower if you read tweets

Pearce putting 2 and 2 together, just because he was born in Birmingham.

Rico Henry

I spoke to his father at an away game sometime last year and asked this same question, if Rico was a Blues supporter and he replied; defiantly not, he continued and said there are a few good reason why this rumour has come about and why he ain't a blues supporter, he said 1: Rico's Wikipedia page which had been hacked and states he is a blues fan, he said he has tried to remove it from Wikipedia but someone keeps putting it back, 'it's most likely to be a blues supporter', he sates this is also where the rumours have come from, it has been on wikipedia since his days at Walsall he says. And 2: he said Rico has another older brother who had signed for Blues when he was younger and was easy one of the top 3 boys at the time in his age group and said he played like Paul Ince, but he said he took him out of blues due to the abuse and language they were using towards the kids at such a young age. He said Rico wasn't born yet, but had told him what happened to his older brother when he was younger.

So from what I can gather; the family don't like the Blues, and he also said they are not to fond of Villa either because Rico got released from there when he was a 10 year old lad,

Rico Henry

Brilliant little player. Works so hard for the team and great cross for the goal today.

Rico Henry

If Liverpool scored that goal, we wouldnt hear the end of it. He is so so good, glad we have seen that considering the setbacks he has had

Rico Henry

What a player since hes had a decent injury free run. So important considering how much benrahma likes to cut in

Rico Henry

Wow. That cross was a 1 in 50. What a great season he is having.

have been critical of his final ball this season but sounds like he's been working very hard on it and that's now two excellent assists for him, both tucked away with aplomb by Ollie.. great stuff..

Rico Henry

He's been a very consistent player this season. An injury free run has greatly helped him I'd imagine. The little things he needed to improve on are a lot more polished now.

Rico Henry

Been class this year. WOuld still like to see him bombing on a bit more. So dangerous when hes overlapping.

I suspect that Thomas has asked him to be judicious in his overlapping runs given that Benrahma will do less defensive tracking back than Mbeumo on other side of the pitch.

Rico Henry

Costa cost £15m quid but Rico showed him up as ordinary today, thought he had a very decent game.

Rico Henry

Top top performance today. ;) One of Rico's best. Positive, decisive, effective.

Rico Henry

..........Speedy Gonzalez is back.............

Rico Henry

Goes unnoticed a little bit but he’s been one of our most consistently high performing players this season.

But I think there’s even more to come.

Bit like Sergi, because he’s been around for a while it’s easy to forget just how young he is (22) and how much more room for development there is.

Injuries have also set Rico back at times, to the point where (without wanting to jinx it) this might be his first full league season at this level without a serious layoff?

He’s got serious potential. Plays so far forward he’s like another attacker but he never seems to get caught defensively, seems to win everything in the air despite being the shortest player on the pitch and technically very good.

One thing I’d say is that sometimes he’s the only man back covering from our attacking set pieces, he seems to panic when the ball comes at him and there is a tendency to give the ball away and prompt counter-attacks. It would also be good, given how far forward he gets, to see him get on the scoresheet a bit more.

Rico Henry

His work rate, positioning and passing is great.

Played well today. Surged down the left countless times.

But

His final ball is really infuriating. If he could add that to his game he would be the perfect left back.

It's all that's missing for me.

Rico Henry

Yet again in acres of space numerous times today but we don't seem willing to play cross field balls to him - not in keeping with our high risk high reward strategy.

Feel the same. If he could deliver a cross like Andy Robertson then he would be world class. But then he probably wouldn't be playing for us.

Rico Henry

His crossing has been one of his strong suits in the past. He has over hit a few recently. I think it willl come back with practice. His blistering runs are always a highlight of any game.

Exactly this. Thought he was excellent again today, having seen replay on TV last night. Will allow him a few wayward crosses today given blustery conditions and defensive organisation of opponent making it difficult for him to pick out a bee. Still MOM for me.

Wasn’t too shabby for Ollie’s goal at Hull........

Wasn’t too shabby for Ollie’s goal at Hull........

You’re right. But considering how good he was yesterday, he didn’t deliver much?

Henrik was pretty bad yesterday and I seem to remember he had a cut back we nearly scored from.

That’s the difference. I don’t know how to fix it, that’s what the coaches are for!

Rico Henry

yeah he had four or five chances to get a good ball in during the first half. i'm sure they're aware and working on it!

Rico Henry

One for the old f@rts. I was thinking of how George Dobson would sprint down the wing to the bye line and cross the ball at what looked like an impossible angle at the speed he was going. Full backs couldn't cope with that.

Rico Henry

Hopefully OK for Luton after going off on Saturday......

Rico Henry

Impressive (again). Best left back in the division from what I have seen this year.
