Looking on the positive side (not very popular, I know), it will be an opportunity to modify our style of play – or add a layer.

Hickey will be a more conventional left back, once he’s adjusted to that side, so we won’t be able to use him bombing forward to play as a left winger, but that also means Jensen won’t need to drop to the LB slot and Schade will have a free run at being the fast player on the left – developing a good understanding between the three, plus Collins’ cross-field switches, should give some excitement.

I’ve always thought that Roerslev works well with Mbeumo, as Mads is inclined to overlap to let Bryan cut inside and provide an outlet, occupying a defender. We just need to get Damsgaard up-and-running again, too, for the right hand side triangles. Hopefully, we’ll get more width as a result.
Nothing wrong with a glass-half-full view of the world!

Not just any left back though is he, so much of our play in attack and defence revolves around him. Be interesting to see how we adapt to his absence
When we load the box for a corner, who is picking up the mad dash back to pick up the long clearance by the defending team? I predict more yellow cards

The tactic will go in the bin. We'll adapt something different.

Bad news, and injuries are mounting up more this season it seems.
Every cloud though, Danny Rose still a free agent. ?

Not had an ACL myself before but would you be able to walk after such an injury as rico was
Yes is the answer. I actually walked into casualty only to be by an elder female doctor at that time is was only a ligament strain. A proper consultant a year latter told me my ACL was torn. Too late to do anything

We’ve tried to get cover in that position to be fair.
Indeed. We also need a squad that’s more flexible with players able to play in variety of positions. Hickey will be fine and it maybe that Ajer becomes more the Henry type but on right hand side. With Roeslev also, in most instances we should be fine? although none will be as good as Rico in team.

Damm that's such a shame for him and will impact us massively on the pitch but luckily we have a great coaching team behind him and the world's best fans and really hope its good and strong recovery for him....

A straw we'd all gladly clutch to, but if one of your team mates posts "You'll be back stronger" it's kinda game over man.
Could be Mbeumo thinks it's a serious injury but it isn't.

Again clutching at that last straw

Favourite player, the first name I look for on the team sheet. We'll adapt and Rico will still be a Brentford player at the beginning of next season. Would he still be a Bee if it wasn't for his previous injury? Small crumbs of comfort for a massive blow. Stay strong, the lap of honour at the Bournemouth game shows we're 100 percent behind you Rico.

A great chance for Mads to really establish himself assuming Hickey goes left.

We've lost another "X factor".

Raya, Rico, Jensen, Toney are/were the almost impossible to replace crew in my opinion. Matty's the last man standing.

I think 90% of us knew this season would be a lot tougher than last and this certainly doesn't make things easier.

I want to see Hickey move across and Ajer step up at RB. Ajer on day can be a force going forward, which we'll now miss with Rico's absence. I suspect it was be Mads tho who only really works in a back 5 IMO.

Yep.
Just been saying exactly this on our WhatsApp group.
(And posted similar on a separate thread).

I’m not sure either of them really work in a back four, to be honest.

Terrible news for Rico and the team. I wonder how often we'll opt for back 3 now without our main LWB in the five? Could it be time to trial the time honoured 442 with covering midfielders?
